Sparky's right. The only thing I've heard of so far regarding them is that they might be DSi enhanced.

He's referring to the stylus.

That was really bad then. It's like we did the timewarp and it's 2004 again. XD

Honestly, everyone on this board has a real skill for following the herd.  They can't seem to think for themselves anymore, it's astonishing.  Let alone even bother with wondering "Hey, could it be remotely possible that cryptids exist, even though that pic may just be a speedboat with a wake behind it?"  Wow.  Seriously.  No one is autonomous anymore.

Sadly, this is the result of the instant access age. When enough fact isn't readily available to support a claim, it's completely dismissed by the majority and the minority who might be more accepting or open to such a fascinating possibility are shot down.

Gaming / Nintendo Power Teases Big DSiWare Game for Next Issue
« on: September 01, 2009, 12:44:36 AM »
Just to elaborate on my last post of course:

Article on GoNintendo

Could Shantae 2 really be Nintendo Power's big DSiWare reveal?

As we showed you guys last week, Nintendo Power is teasing a big DSiWare title to be revealed in their next issue. When I posted that story, I added my own two cents, stating that I wanted the title to be Shantae. Now take a look at what WayForward has updated their Twitter feed with...

Nintendo Power teasing a MAJOR DSiWare release in the next issue? AND it will make many gamers "very, very happy"? Hmmm.

Why on earth would WayForward do that if they weren't involved with the game?! It doesn't necessarily mean that this is Shantae, but there's definitely a good chance.

On top of that little tidbit, check out what WayForward has as their current Twitter icon. It was posted up on July 11th, but I'm still holding out hope.

I don't know if I can keep my fingers crossed until the next issue!

Give us Metroid Dread you bastards. Then again, I get the feeling something akin to Metroid Prime Hunters is more likely.

I have a feeling that if Dread is still happening, it won't be until around or after Other M.

After hearing folks half tease that some form of Shantae would be getting a spotlight feature next month and all this DSi talk, I really have to take notice of this recent string of news.

Gaming / The Nintendo DSi Thread

Nintendo's Masato Kuwahara, project lead on the Nintendo DSi hardware, revealed that games playable only on the latest revision Nintendo DS were in the works at this year's GDC. Those first DSi-only games will hit this fall, sources tell Kotaku.

Software that will only work on a Nintendo DSi will join titles playable on a Nintendo DS or DS Lite that also feature DSi-specific enhanced capabilities, like Ubisoft's Jam Sessions 2 and My Healthy Cooking Coach. Games and apps that will only be playable on a DSi will be visually distinct from past product, sources say.

Those DSi-only games will be packaged in all-white game cases, making them stand out from the standard dark gray cases of currently available Nintendo DS games. Those cases will sport a warning that the software is only compatible with the Nintendo DSi. DSi-only game cards themselves will use a similar white plastic, but it's unclear if those re-colored cards will have any difficulty fitting into a DS or DS Lite cartridge slot.

Another unknown is if DSi-only software will take advantage of the expanded tech specs unique to the Nintendo DSi.

It appears that, like Wii MotionPlus, that Nintendo will be letting third-party publishers take the lead in offering DSi-only software. Nintendo itself has offered plenty of downloadable DSiWare games that are system specific, but it has yet to announce any DSi-only retail games as part of its future lineup. Still a risky proposition, considering the comparatively smaller userbase of the DSi platform and the possibility for consumer confusion.

We contacted Nintendo for comment on the introduction of DSi-only games this year, but the company did not respond to requests before publishing.

Now then, thoughts on the matter?

At least when he gets whored, the sex is awesome 8-9 times out of 10.

I'm sorry, I just can't see this as a good thing. SOMETHING is going to go wrong with this. I just have this feeling that, knowing Disney, they'll somehow want to changes things in Marvel for the worst. They almost did it with Pixar, and they'll be try to do it with Marvel.

Except for the fact that Disney recently had a bit of internal change and a lot of things and current projects of theirs point to the opposite (in house game devs with Warren Spector leading them all, "Epic Mickey", The Princess & The Frog & Rapunzel being more in line with Traditional Animation Disney, etc.).

I'll give them the benefit of the doubt quicker than I'd shun the change. Also, as Tai posted above, you have to remember that Disney has had its hands in quite a few other companies that are seemingly unrelated otherwise.

This feels like a discussion I've had already about the whole Nintendo vs Capcom comment, except that this time it's Disney and Marvel replacing Nintendo and Capcom.

Excerpts please. XD

Guys, this is the praise the above poster thread, not the state the obvious about the previous poster thread. If you don't know the difference between the two and keep posting, it's considered spamming.

With that said, Gaia's really good at making me do double takes.

Would everyone in here playing tournament caliber "Jump To Conclusions" please remember that in this situation, Disney has only acquired the company and is not, repeat is not, planning to currently shuffle things around within it? Align's post helps if you understand the jargon, but in case you don't it breaks down like this:

- Giant company likes little company's stuff.
- Little company would like to become a part of big company (or larger company wishes to purchase tiny company).
- Deal happens and now little company becomes part of big company. The conditions of the deal however make it so the little company can keep doing what they want and are good at while both profit.

So no, Disney getting Marvel doesn't spell doom and gloom or "Hannah Montanna"-ization of everything (even though Disney lately seems like it really wants to go back to the old school in terms of their quality). If anything, this is great for Marvel as now they have Disney's funds on top of their own to churn out their stuff.

There are countless examples of things like this happening in other fields. Hell, it's the reason why the whole "2nd Party Developer" became so prominent in game talk.

Don't get me wrong, I'm much like yourself in that regard. I just can't see myself doing that in one go. Maybe two separate times (once for the first card, a bit later to max it all out) as time goes on.
