You know, I will never understand how Zelda turned out to be the one Nintendo franchise that Nintendo themselves would break from their usual "lol [tornado fang] you" policy in regards to letting fan demand dictate their designs and ideas. Never ever. XD

I see no problems with Capcom selling cartridge equivalent games at a 10 dollar price point in 2010 for gameplay that is tried and true, timeless and needs no more or less.

Yes, because the SNES cant handle those kinds of cutscenes.
Also, X3 had remixed music. it was an enhanced port. (yknow, like OSS) Capcom wouldnt make that, if they make an SNES X game, going with what they are doing with 8 bit 9 and 10, they will stick to X1-3 limitations. which means no animated cutscenes. Just like Acid said, Black boxes with white text.

Here's another thing that's been bugging me about this train of thought. Is it that the SNES can't handle the cutscenes or they can't handle the cutscenes based on your perception of what cutscenes should be like in the year 2010? I seem to recall a great number of games having memorable and well done cutscenes on the SNES you know (mostly RPGs but still). To say that either people aren't creative enough to work out a pretty cool way to do something like that or shun the notion of doing it that way because teh pretty and teh shiny have clouded your mind and dulled your reception to anything less that a certain standard is kinda "huh" inducing.

Also, let me be the first person to say that cutscenes, cinematics, and by extension cinematic gaming are all [tornado fang]ing jokes. As much as I'm a person who can see the merits to doing a lot of things differently and can see the positives with these types of games, when you have people that believe that more shiny is necessary to make a decent game, all I can do is sigh.

Well anyways guys, im off to go do some resting and whatnot, have fun talking about hte amazing fantastic wonderful, news we got.

We get it, you're going to sleep. :P

I think It won't, because I'll lock this soon. It's not going anywhere.

I don't feel like locking this one is a good idea since this is easily gonna be one of RPM's biggest topics for a while and letting it filter out into different areas of the site would make things a bit crazy. At the same time, the debate over what should happen over a game that hasn't even been confirmed to exist and the exchange that's been going on is kinda counterproductive to what we should be talking about here. In case anyone forgot what that was, let me remind you:

JESUS [tornado fang], IT'S MEGA MAN 10.

Seriously guys. XD

Even with SNES sprites & sound effects?

And here's a fun thought too: Would the Sonic series have been better all around if they had just kept the S3&K/CD formula going?

Do you REALLY need to ask this question? The only thing I see happening here would be that Sonic would build itself up a niche much like the current Castlevanias, Megamans, etc.

Now, if your thinking I'm thinking what I think your thinking...

also,
The way I see it, Capcom needs to catch up with the likes of Nintendo and Sega some time. all their major franchises are 3D. Megaman? still stuck in 2D. With a tossed aside 3D formula.

Oh God, it's the "catch up to modern times" routine now. Flame, I expected better from you man, but whatever I'm out for a bit.

The way I see it, if MMX9 comes along with a great sprite style all its own and animated its cutscenes within those boundaries (think of how Sonic 3 & Knuckles cutscenes & transitions happened except add your text boxes and dialogue as needed), that'd be more than great. Hell they can do things like that within the limits of a 16 bit MMX. Something a few folks here need to remember that 16 bit only refers to the color limitations. It's not a style restriction, especially in good hands.

Why do we always get shot back to the same discussion of X9 and 16-bit and/or 32-bit?

Because at this point, it's probably the last real controversy that the Rockman/Megaman fanbase has to poke each other with sharp pointy sticks about. XD

Oh man, imagine if MM10 has Broken MM3 Rush Jet...

Then people would [sonic slicer] about it breaking the game and how MM10 sucks because it's newer. Mind you some of these folks probably adored MM3 when it came out years ago. XD

See the purple-haired girl? That. She's not a new character so much as it's that purple-haired girl costumed as her.

Pretty much, it's cosplaying in a video game. Boy, welcome to a new generation: cosplayers cosplaying as characters cosplaying.

Someone started the music discussion on another forum already so I'll say this:

The songs to beat from Megaman 9 are Flash In The Dark (Wily Stage 1) or Strange World (Wily Stage 3). For those of us privileged enough to own or hear the Chiptune Rockman album from TGS, then the songs to beat are the Bubbleman Stage Mix, Slashman Mix, Shadowman Mix, Mercury Stage or the Oilman & Timeman Stage Mixes.
