Well, here's to hoping they've learned their lesson. Aonuma's direction could have so much potential... as long as he stops trying to be Miyamoto. He should just do his own thing, fully bring his own flair into it.

Of all the developers in the world, I think the only one that I would never envy is Aonuma. Seriously, the guy as you said has amazing talent, but the amount of back and forth he has to do with Miyamoto to get things done in a manner than the both of them can agree on is just crazy. XD

This is the reason why every game, especially those with multiplayer, needs a snapshot feature. XD

You see, this is the only reason why I hate Ariga (not directly though). I can never find his art on the internet without a massive search through. He did do all four though.

As for your second comment, while I do agree, I must say that I'd be lying if I said I wouldn't pick Ariga over Sensei if given the chance.

Ariga's Rockman designs top the hell out of the other artists doing official work within Capcom guaranteed. Hell, he even one upped Toru Nakayama with his renditions of the four generals. Seeing all of that in game, especially cel-shaded would be an amazing experience.

Well, 2010 2011 or after robo-chicken-zombie apocalypse, here's some new (and a few oldish) details cropping up on the notes behind the game thus far, courtesy of Official Nintendo Magazine:

Quote
•MotionPlus has been incorporated into the game, and Link is "already reproducing almost perfectly what you do with the remote and MotionPlus. Our team has already got a solid response from this aspect of the software."

•The structure of the game has been changed significantly from previous games, and Aonuma hopes that people will be surprised with the changes.

•The game has been well under development for some time now, and Aonuma is hopeful that they will be able to show something at E3 2010.

•MotionPlus was not even conceived when development started on the game, so they had to experiment with the idea of such inclusion part-way through development.

•Most bizzare of all, Aonuma mentions that a definite graphical style for the game has not yet been decided. Aonuma says that it's possible that they may even go for something completely new, but hints that it will likely be on the realism side of the spectrum (as opposed to cel-shading). (They mentio something along the lines of watercolors.)

•Aonuma has been reading speculation on the internet and says that some of it is correct, but cannot elaborate on it until next year.

•Aonuma has been playing Monster Hunter Tri in order to see what aspects most appeal to the audience. Does this indicate that there is a possibility of some ideas been nabbed from that game and incorporated into the new Zelda game?

And an interesting quote from Miyamoto on one idea in particular:

Quote
NP: Now, before you showed the image, you talked about wanting everybody to have unique, personal memories of their adventures in Hyrule. Is that something you're actually trying to implement in the game--a personalized Zelda experience for every player?

Miyamoto: Every person's own individual experiences with the game should be unique and [be] their own sort of "My Zelda" experience, and I think that's super important, and we have to look at that when we're creating dungeons and how we can make that come true. So spending a lot of time concentrating our efforts in that area. But it's not going to become individual: "Hi, I'm this Zelda!" or "I'm this Zelda!" or "I'm this Link!" or whatever. The experience will be unique but within this world that we've defined.

We all saw this coming.
What REALLY needs to be posted in the news section, is the fact that Inafune AND Ariga are taking questions for the event tomorrow.

Someone needs to make that post. I wish I could, but Only staff and RPM Soldiers can.

Honestly; you guys are getting somewhat lazy lately with the news updates.
Seriously. The fact that there was going to BE that event wasn't even posted.

You're all welcome.

Meanwhile, honestly I can't say that news of this event even reached me before tonight. Looks like I fail at info. XD

News and Announcements / Inafune & Ariga: Grilled By The Fans
« on: December 16, 2009, 04:21:59 AM »
On the heels of a very special webcast event for the Rockman fandom, series veteran designer Keiji Inafune & Rockman Megamix artist Hitoshi Ariga are having an interview tomorrow for the greater majority of their Japanese fans. What's even more interesting is that now, Capcom is currently taking our questions in order to answer them at the planned event tomorrow.

So then, ladies and gentlemen, what kinds of interesting questions are on your minds? Also, what ulterior motive could be behind the team up of these two men with a history of working in the series? Discuss!

EDIT: Download an Audio Podcast of the Live Webcast here.

You can now see the Rockman 10 Trailer on the official site, or on RPM's Rockman 10 page.

I figured it was something like that. XD

God I loved this show

I knew nothing of Star Wars outside of the famous things before I saw this. Even now I don't know much, but [tornado fang] me sideways if that miniseries wasn't godly. The finale with General Grievous was chilling and amazingly done.

...and I just remembered that Toonami aired it. [tornado fang], that block had a serious pedigree.

Old schoolers. I like it. 8B

You know, a part of me really likes debating and learning the ins and outs of what makes a game casual or hardcore to folks. There's an amazing psychology behind it. As much as it gets annoying to sift through when people want to be witty and edgy, just learning to understand it helps me out tons in the long run.

If there is one thing more hilarious than screwing up your friends in this game, though, it's watching how the success of this game is causing the so-called "hardcore" gaming press to rip their hair out.  They cannot fathom that a 2D game that lacks Muramasa's eye-popping animations is outselling Mario Galaxy.  Case in point, and the rebuttal.

I bet my semi-local Wal-Mart is real sorry they didn't stock that one on launch day.

As much as I LOVE their tears on this one, I am actively saying [tornado fang] them and enjoying my manic run through with just my brother. When my sister (the second oldest and only other person who can give me a run for money in most of my games) comes back from college this Christmas and we get our 4 Wiimotes, [parasitic bomb] will get real. XD

Also, Matt Cassamassina is truly a hit or miss artist on Nintendo affairs. He might get one or two noteworthy things to present every now and then from the Big N, but geez, he always sounds like he's championing that "derp hardcore gaems" agenda.

Heh, I should've quit while I was ahead.  I knew there was no way I was going to top the Knuckle Joe/Bomb/Soccer Ball death + getting me the Smash Ball combo match.  XD

That [parasitic bomb] was not cool at all! I went from zero to some insane number like 296 without you moving from your spot on the other side of the level! XD

I got my revenge in that one Yoshi's Island Ike/Falcon battle though. Smash attacking the soccer ball to meet you up the hill rather than going for you was the best play I made that match. XD
