Gaming / Re: Prince of Persia 2008
« on: January 01, 2009, 08:44:04 PM »
Turns out there's another game made using this redo for the series; Prince Of Persia: The Fallen King, for the DS (saw it at a Walmart while getting Gears Of War 2). The main character on the cover was the same prince from this game, but oddly enough chibified. I don't have any other details, but it seems it was released around the same time under the radar.  :\

You want a bad example of replay value that should never be followed? Shadow the Hedgehog, 'nuff said.  -_-

Good example-wise, I can't really draw anything up other than "the game is fun enough to play again." And now adays, many games are kinda one-shot deals unfortunately, not counting multiplayer.  :(

"What the hell is up with all the subliminal messages when you make songs go backwards? Look at the Sonic songs (with vocals); several "backmaskers" made out the word Nazi from all the weirdness in a couple of the songs, including You Can Do Anything, more infamously known as Toot Toot Sonic Warrior. Then again, I laugh at the mention. HELLO, THE NAZI BUSH!!"

Strider, Gargoyle's Quest. Gather around the good staff and churn 'em out. The world wants them.

'course, in Strider's case it's not possible since Isuke is half a step from being a lunatic for all we hear.

All the better for some rather insane levels and difficulty, as per the norm for both games. (at least for Strider, not sure about Gargoyle's Quest)  [eyebrow]

Since Star Wars has gotten into the storybook fame (as in, novelized version of the movies 1-6), I can see where this is going

I'm not really seeing it. The Sonic series may have alot of characters, but I just don't see that many from the games able to fit into Star Wars' character roles, at least properly. Eggman as a bumbling Emperor and Metal Sonic as Darth Vader, though..  bVd

Alright, I can understand all your wants for sequels, especially the continuation of certain Rockman series', but unfortunately I doubt we'll really see another Irregular Hunter X. The other games usually sold well and thus warranted sequels, but I remember hearing that IHX's sales were absolutely awful.

In all honestly, the best thing we can do is think of the first Irregular Hunter X as Capcom pulling a Rockman 9, - before they even started on making RM9 - and the X Collection as another flawed game like the Anniversary Collection in that they royally screwed up on somethings and pissed off fans everywhere. (what, no RM7 burning castle ending, or X6 jap voice acting?!?) -_-

"Editing wikis is more fun, 'specially when the vandals are clever."

The most memorable wiki scandal i've seen was for MMZ3 on Wikipedia:
"After Omega was killed, Zero died in the explosion and Weil went to the Resistance Base and had a sexy party!!"

... Honestly, now.  :(

Keyword: I dont have either one, and at the time, I wasnt going to shell out the money for a Gamecube. and Im not going to buy a dead system. I know its like 50 bucks today, but games dont really come out for it since the Wii's replaced it. Id rather get the wii which is new and games come out for. like brawl and other sonic  games.

Well, did you know that Gamecube games can be played on the Wii, with the GC controllers able to be hooked up to it? No excuses on missing out now, eh?  XD

I was caught off guard with this turn of events, but then again it's not too surprising. I jumped onto the Sonic Adventure bandwagon and beyond only three years ago (With DX and Battle). Still, besides Sonic '06 and the Secret Rings game (sorry, but that one was unbearable control-wise), i've been cheering on the other games, even with all their flaws.

And stage preference and the like are, again, relative to personal opinions; someone may like this, but you like that instead. You've just gotta experience things yourself, I suppose.

Ya gotta try games yourself to really make an opinion, because the reviews aren't YOUR views. That, and to hell with X-Play, as they bash anything remotely related to any "big" anime series (Naruto, DBZ, Yu-Gi-Oh!, etc.), and all I can really gather from them anymore is that all games must be on the level of GTAIV, or else they suck. They have fallen greatly...  :chant:

And to the demo, to the best of my knowledge that's the very first level of the game, Apotos Act 1, that was in the demo. One thing to note is that in the portion you played, you're not meant to wander around, just blaze foward as one seriously fast blue blur. Wandering around comes in with the hub world (where all the levels are linked together and such), and in the Werehog nighttime stages. In the Werehog stages, you get to smash everything into oblivion, focusing more on platforming and combat instead of speed and reflexes.

Otherwise, I don't know much else having only played the demo myself. This game does seem awesome though, and quite afew people on this board seem to like it, so I plan to try and rent it sometime!  :)

At least the "One Winged Melody" someone made for the 360 version of Guitar Hero World Tour added some new parts for the rockin' remix. Honestly, it was epic back when FF7 was released; not so much now. >.>;;

I'm not sure, but I'm going to assume you mean Metaknight.  For the most part, the only problem I can see with him is that Dimensional Cape glitch.  Other than that, he may be one of the best, but it's not like he can't be beaten with ease.  I remember early on there were talks about banning Sonic cause he was so fast, and his Final Smash was so powerful.

Regardless, Brawl is much more balance in characters than Melee, I think.  Every character has a chance to beat another.

I agree with this. Metaknight is as balanced as the others, it's the players who use him with effectiveness that nets him a bad rep oddly enough. I had friend that was rather skilled with Metaknight (and also owned Brawl), but I whooped him big time with Ike and Lucas, before I got into my Sonic playings. Then it was [twin slasher], but that's a tale for another time.  -_-

Also, [tornado fang] you too. You know you ADORE my Critical Hits that don't hit you. XD

I could make a reference to Persona 4 with that critical hit thing, but then I fear that no one here has played it yet.  :\

I went through the article, and i'm honestly surprised at how twistedly brilliant that was, and yet at the same time the most messed up thing i've ever seen in a first-party series, Nintendo-wise much less. Granted, my only experience with Gigyas is YouTube, but still...  X(
