Gaming / Re: Sonic Unleashed
« on: January 03, 2009, 05:15:25 AM »
Well, things change. In this case, [the] Sonic Team(s) just couldn't make up it's/their damn minds on a consistent playstyle for the Sonic games, and tried jazzin' things up with other game types, characters, and practically throwing many things the fans used to like out the window and replacing them with more "modern" designs (Soap shoe discussion from just the other week, folks?) and unable to make up their minds on appealing to either younger or older gaming generations.

Sonic Team hasn't fallen, not yet, but few trust them in their endeavors anymore, so I think that Sonic might finally be nearing his closing chapters. I may be very wrong, but even with the "success," as some might say, of Unleashed, I just don't think anyone wants to chance another Sonic '06 and the like again.  :\

Think of it as it's own game, HyperSonic.EXE; don't compare it to the others or you won't stop grimacing because of what you're used to and your expectations.

not really. well, not for me at least. I could see quite clearly what was stand onable and what wasnt. the exeption being pitch black, which is, well, pitch black.

Same here, I could clearly tell what could be stood on and what couldn't.  :\

Well, it is your opinion, so I'm not entitled to try and bludgeon you for it, but I find the demo experience refreshing, at least after suffering playing though every [tornado fang]ing possible plot path imaginable for ShTH, getting 100% on Sonic Heroes, and losing 75% of my sanity with Sonic '06.  -_-

"Alright, i'm starting to sound annoying by now, I know, but i've just recalled a scene from Naruto where attempted censorship made things unintentionally seem more violent; the scene where Kaiza, from the Wave arc, was to be executed. Remember how he was tied to the stump? In the original version, it was cross-shaped, and thus his arms were bound to the sides. In the censored version, they took the sides off and tried to make it seem like his arms were tied behind the stump instead.

Yet, in an attempt to keep religious nuts from going all ballistic, the end effect makes it seem like Kaiza's arms were cut off, literally, or something. What the [tornado fang]?"

... *really, really, really bored*

Wow, double bash? Tell me, what ranks are you two getting? I got a B my first try, and an S on all subsequent runs through the level.

Get Equipped with Modchip, ISO and Stack Smash Texture Hack! (When It comes out at least.) :P

If I recall correctly, Nintendo shut down the whole thing with a C&D, didn't they?

I'm actually surprised Naruto gets away with everything it does on Cartoon Network.

Yeah, i've noticed the games give Naruto's Sexy no Jutsu appearance a bikini and all, but the CN version of the show sticks to the original cloud censors instead (and about the game, that was probably to keep players from hacking it to see nudity and such). If some perverted things in Dragon Ball shocked anyone, they'd die from a heart attack watching/reading Naruto.

.. Although I noticed that they did one of the stupidest censoring ever; calling sake "elixer" during the Sasuke Retrieval arc, despite it obviously being alcoholic and called sake and such beforehand. And on such notes, can anyone give me the specifics of that one episode where Naruto switches a treaty with a manuscript for an Icha Icha book instead, so I might possibly have more points against CN for stupid or messed up censorship and the like?

Worse yet, WHY are they showing Jurrasic Park 3 at all? Didn't a guy go splat against the plane? Didn't they dig through dino [parasitic bomb] for a phone? If all the cartoon channels try their best to make things "kid-friendly", i'm just wondering why the hell they even show something like Naruto (there is still abit of blood in it, and they censored a curse word or so), besides ratings.

... Then again, I haven't watched TV for about 6 months because of absurdity and pure crap, so I can't really talk. >.>;;

Yikes, talk about one hell of a bashing. I've only played the demo myself, and i'll admit that it's not easy holding things together at such speeds, but for once I can say that dying is by my own fault rather than bullshit physics that end up with me 10 feet under. Play it a couple of times, memorize the stuff, and once you get things down you'll find it abit more enjoyable to blaze through the level, just like the old games.

.. Key focus on the word memorize. >.>;;

As you can probably tell, I don't like Star Fox very much.

... DO A BARREL ROLL!!!  :P

Anywho, I guess i'm one of the few who think being able to make custom characters would be awesome. Choose the character style, nintendo universe, individual attacks, and so forth.  :)

One dream I had when I was little involved Captain America, me, the devil, and a circus. Few details to salvage, but it was very creepy at the time.

Otherwise, I actually tend to suffer from deja vu with my dreams. I dream about this event happening, and, whaddaya know, it happens the following day. Maybe it's common, maybe it's not, but it's certainly weird.

Not watching television? :P

Same here, at least for the past few months. It seems like there's nothing good on anymore, and all the AS anime bores me to death and beyond (i'm lookin' at you and your ten intermission characterization episodes in between the in-show span of an hour, Bleach).  :\

whoa, I love the EXE concept one. it barely looks like Bass, but its still awesome!

With all the redesigns in the BN series, i'm actually surprised the final was so close to the original thing.  -_-

Anywho, interesting look and work as usual, Gonzo!  :)

Alright, from my observations, the only way to really deal HP damage is via special attacks, with normal attacks giving you enough energy to perform them?  ???

Gears Of War 2, bought yesterday and already beat the Campaign. Honestly, though, they need to work on something called "continuity," when it comes to some of these plot points.  -_-
