^Did they rename those Dream Eaters for the US version? I can't remember what they call in the Japanese version.

XSEED quietly cancels Grand Knights History localization

What...  why?! I pre-order it because it looked awesome! ;^;

Posted on: May 02, 2012, 05:07:27 AM
I know this doesn't really help, but...

http://www.joystiq.com/2012/05/02/grand-knights-history-wont-be-published-by-xseed-development/

It seems Rising Star will still publish the game for Europe, but wasn't it stated they were going to use Xseed's script for the localization? Well I've heard that Xseed was done with the script and such and were waiting for Vanillaware for the coding, so it's possible Xseed could give Rising Star the script so the game could be published to Europe in full English.

What do you think?

X / Re: Why wasnt X5 the last game?
« on: May 02, 2012, 03:48:35 AM »
I would say what weakens X6 is not the Nightmare system itself, but rushed development. If it had more development time behind it, the Nightmare System might have been better designed, and some of the more blatantly rushed stages might have been more fleshed out.

True, but all in all X6 is still an amazing and great game! And I love it to this day!
Though I wouldn't mind having a few tweaks there and here... too bad the remakes for X2 - X6 for the PSP didn't quite make it. Do you think it's possible they can still remakes of them on the VITA instead? If they go with it I mean, even without Inafune (though I wonder how), and it would be see to see how X6 would've been handle with better development time.

Hmm... might I recommend Stencyl? It's a freeware game making program that allows you to make ANY kind of game without programming knowledge and the use of snippets that handles the code that act like puzzle pieces to build the game.

For more information go here:

So... did they lost a ALL of what they made, with the attacks, maps, features, etc...?
I hope they doesn't slow them down and they can proceed to finishing the game to its fullest potential.

Honestly, who knows how the body of a servant "dies" seeing as it really is just a "spirit" with a body and a life force supplied as mana from their master. Kayneth said they were "ghosts" of the past, so any and all feelings including grudges from the past could have contorted the way Lancer manifested himself at his last moments. That what I thought. Maybe even present feelings. Not sure, but Berserker's eyes did go all white in it's final moments in trying to protect Illya In UBW.

I thought they were given a temporarily "physical body" or sorts because of the way the Holy Grail manifests them and when they're summoned. If just assumed, even though they're spirits (but spirits can have bodies too if they want, right?), they still have a physical existence which is why the bleed when wounded, and eat when they're hungry (Saber is a prime example of that).

Now that I have seen the hairstyle...  I like it.  I like this version of the trident hairstyle.  The cowlick on the back of the neck was a nice touch.

And as for the digital sketch... The linework is pretty tight.  Though, I wonder... When drawing a figure, do you sketch out the bare bones (a glorified stick figure) of the pose prior to fleshing out all the details?  Or do you go straight to the final touches and skip the other steps?  If you use simple sketches to build a pose on paper, you can do the same digitally.  I often start my digital pics off with a simple, quick sketch of the pose in a light blue on the background layer.  Then, I add a new layer and start fleshing it out.  Because one works digitally doesn't mean they need to change how they draw.

The cowlick at the back... I kinda wasn't thinking on that part, just went with the flow of how the hair's line was drawn and I liked it! This is the best look so far for the Trident hairstyle and I think I'll make it the final official one, hard to find a way to improve it now.

Thanks for the comment on the digitally sketch! I didn't show it as I hide it in SAI, but I made a blue sketch to position the body parts (you know the circles, ovans, lines, etc.) to set up how I want my guy to look and then another layer I started drawing the clothes and and facial expressions (the facial expressions on another layer with a different color so I can change the face without messing up the lines of the head).

I'm looking for some reference to his stance with some DBZ-style in it and I have ALL 26 DBZ manga volumes to look at and get a rough idea how to draw him. So far I'm having a tough time with the arms and pants as I'm not use to drawing full body characters, especially DBZ style, and I'm getting more familiar with the Tablet. Still need some more work though.

Also I did ALL the lineart by hand, I haven't used the Vector layer yet. Going to be a while before I color and shade in the drawing digitally.

Thanks for your feedback!

I wonder if it's time for me to reveal this? I wonder if my sprite skills have improved a lot?

Reimu Hakurei RMVX-Style Sprite WIP:

Hey there! This is my first, well second if you count the early fanart Touhou character, Touhou artwork uploaded here!
This is a sprite I've made of Reimu Hakurei, the main character of the popular Japanese-only PC "Bullet Hell" games called
"Touhou" created by ZUN.

However I'm uploading this, because I want your opinions about which sprite version of Reimu I should use.

I'm planning on making a Touhou RPG game and my project will be made with the RPG Maker VX which is what style I'm
using to make this sprite, with my own touch. I plan to create almost all the important/well-known Touhou characters
from the series including the recent cast from Touhou 13: Ten Desires.

From left to right is a dark brown/regular brown haired Reimu with one slight brownish/red eyes on the left and complete
red eyes on the right. The same is held true for the other two on the right except they have black hair instead.

I want to get it as close as possible to what she really looks like, officially or a close second. I made the brown-colored
hair version Reimu first, but then made a black-haired variation to see if she looks better with black hair.

She officially has dark brown hair by Touhou 13, but her black hair look looks more comfortable on the eyes and such.

So I ask you, which one of the four sprites of Reimu should I use?

Please note I'm still working on her sprite sheet, so this is her only sprite frame done. I hope in the future I'll get ALL of the
ones I want done and/or get help making the rest of the Touhou cast as well as releasing them for other people to use in
their own Touhou RPG projects if they want. But please credit or cite your source, I'm working hard on these.

Though it took me about an hour I think to work over the Female Sprite template to get her first sprite done.

Also any ways to improve it? I try to get it detailed as possible while keeping the pseudo-VX sprite style of the RMVX program.
It's pretty hard to make the detached sleeves on her sprite without making it weird.

And the color palette to show what colors I used. Tricky to find the right colors, especially getting the darker ones to outline the sprite more.

Comments, opinions, suggestions? Or did you think they're good enough?

Reimu Hakurei VX-Sprite Sheet

This is my complete RPG Maker VX-Style Sprite Sheet of Reimu Hakurei! Took me awhile to finish it, but I got her done!
Also, thanks to the people who picked which Reimu was better from my previous one of the WIP sheet... the third Reimu
was chosen.

I have to say it was tricky figuring out how her back should look, but I managed it somehow. I have to say it looks great
and I'm proud to have finished it! ^_^

Now there's like 60+ Touhou characters to sprite. @_@

Well my complete sprite sheet of Reimu is done and I'll allowing anyone to use it for their own Touhou RPG projects, just
give proper credit please.

I forgot to add in Reimu's alternate costume or second costume, which gives her purple hair and purple eyes as a throwback
to the original PC-98 games and I plan for my Touhou RPG for all females to have at least 8 different costumes. I plan to have
a lot of Touhou references to old games and sources.

I have planned Reimu's default look, alternative costume, schoolgirl outfit, and swimsuit costumes. Every Touhou will have a
school-theme outfit.

Tell me what you think, is there anyway for me to improve upon what I've got here?

Chris Corona VX-Style Sprite

Hello everyone, this is a RPG Maker VX-Style Sprite of my original Chris Corona. I use this avatar of him for his other alternative
universe version of himself (excluding "The Legendary Heroes" RPG series, "VirusChris/Virakin" manga project, and "Virakin Advent"
series).

I finished him a while back, but I went back and updated him a little by making his hair darker (it was much lighter), more details
on his clothes as well as darken them, and fixing up his hair a bit.

If you can't see it, I made a necklace for him on his sprite but you probably need to download to get a better look at it.

He's the Protagonist of many stories I have about him (each different in their own way), and I plan to have him appear in a game I have
planned where the player can change his name (it's his default name) and choose various sayings and something interesting about his
history that affect the scenario in certain ways.

I used 21 different colors to make him, so it took a while to get him right especially his hair which was the hardest one to sprite.

Tell me what you think, OK? Do you see any areas I should touch up upon to fix or improve?

Are surprised no one is commenting on the Touhou Sprites at least... saying as some of you guys love Touhou. -u-'

Please take a look at it! I've been busy with work a lot last week so hopefully this week I can get some drawings done!

I can't believe I'm actually going to post this, but it IS my first true complete digitally colored artwork. I also wanted to do a simple and easy character that's not to complex to draw which is why I wanted to draw this kind of character:

This is my own original character, Crimson, based on the My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. Yes, I've watched the MLP series and I'll be frank... I like the series and now I'm a brony and I'm not afraid to admit it. I've draw Crimson in Paint Tool SAI and used my Wacom Tablet to draw and color him in, and I used Photoshop to make his gradient eyes. I based his mane after my character Chris Corona because I wanted to have a unique kind of mane for this pony character and a few other reasons as well.

If you want to learn more details and my character's description, click on the picture. I have a story in mind for my character as well, and sadly I won't write it until I've draw his little dragon companion, Glitterrock the female black baby/kid dragon, if you're interest in learning about my character.

Hope you like it, but I know the flaw in my drawing is that he's body is too long for the pony in the show which I kinda dislike about what I did to my drawing.

X / Re: Why wasnt X5 the last game?
« on: April 30, 2012, 11:43:45 PM »
I understand some of your beef with X6's difficulty level, I'll admit some of the enemy placement has gotten me to go "Are you kidding me?" moment especially when it's hard to attack them from my position but I always look for another way around it and better myself to overcome my obstacle. I was even doing a double take on the Ground Scaravich's stage with the random map changes because the first time I went through it I went to the hidden area where the Zero Nightmare was and gotten Zero unlocked after it.

After that I never got to that area again during my second time, but I've gotten it from time to time. But I did find it annoying at times that I have to replay the same level again and again to save all Reploids and get all the items. Also I hate the not saving the Reploids from the Nightmare results in the lose of their amazing power up items which is why I save before the stage and reset the game when it happens and move faster to save them.

I've played the game so many times and beaten it as well that I know all the Reploid position and have saved them all many times. But it's been a while so I not sure right now if I play the game again.

Another thing I always found it annoying that they forced you to listen to Alia's comments in X5, which I greatly thankfully for in X6 (but strangely I always answer them, most of the time), especially when you want to play through the game again from the beginning.

And IF the X series ended in X5, I wonder how much would that affect the story of MMZero? I kinda grateful that the X series continued and that the Zero series became what it is today.

X / Re: Why wasnt X5 the last game?
« on: April 30, 2012, 07:09:47 AM »
Actually, I remember the time when Mega Man X5 is close to release and I had a video game magazine telling me the secret codes to unlock the Ultimate Armor for X and Zero and told me how to beat the 8 bosses. That is my first time reading up on it and I instantly got the game when it came out.

I liked it for the most part, but I HATED the fact I couldn't get ALL of the power up item to customize with and it's nearly impossible to get both X and Zero to their maxed rank sometimes (I get close!). And with the ending of the game and the mentioning of Wily, I was actually expecting the next X game so I wasn't aware that Mega Man X5 was suppose to be the final game in the X series and to me I didn't see it that way.

That's why X6 is my favorite, and when I saw it in a video game magazine I got excited and said "Finally! MMX6 is out!" again without realizing MMX6 was made behind Inafune's back however I loved a lot of things about it! True it was challenging to yes the least, especially some of the Gate Lab Stage especially the spiked entrance where I was forced to use Shadow Armor X to get it (I wasn't aware at the time to use the power up special moves to use as platform IIRC) when I couldn't get past them with normal X or Blade X (Ultimate X had no problem for me) and Zero was easy to sneak into.

I ALWAYS 100% that game, saved all those Reploids, got all the Power Up Customize Items, obtain both Blade and Shadow Armor for X, unlock Zero (I never once got the ending where you didn't save Zero), maxed out the Hunter Rank for both X and Zero, gotten both Endings (which confused me in X7 with Zero until I thought maybe Zero enters that capsule at a later time), and unlocked both Ultimate Armor X and Black Zero (sucks that I couldn't get BOTH at the same time). I loved the game, and I wasn't fully aware of the translation mistakes but I did notice some things were off from the dialogue and I liked the Japanese voiceovers.

The level designs for frustrating due to some levels, but I always found a way around them and I appreciated them more and enjoy challenging myself to get past them. Surprisingly I never really used Zero's Z-Buster as the Z-Saber always seemed more powerful when using it against bosses and the Z-Buster seemed like it had limited range (I haven't played in a while so I'm not sure).

And I liked the endings for X6 for X and Zero, especially Zero where I believe Capcom was trying to bridge a connection between MMX and MMZero.
I loved both MMX5 and MMX6 and brought a lot to the series, though I agree with X5 felt a little rush at times and I played X5 in the order where the characters told me to collect the items as fast as I can the first time around where Zero ultimately smashes into the Space Colony and it was a success which made sense to my in X6 as I thought that was suppose to happen. Silly me to not know that was one of few different story paths in the game to lead to the game's endings.

Either way I'm glad X5 wasn't the final game in the X series!

536
I've been hearing the Creators have male characters planned, actually one of the Creators had male characters planned since High School IIRC, as the first new DLC character.

Also I've been thinking of getting this game, might as well get the demo first, but I've heard good things about the gameplay especially the Infinite Prevention system they built in, fast gameplay, great online, etc...

However I probably won't be able to get the full game until next Friday as I don't have the money to buy another $20 PSN Card.

I still yet to beat any Chapters on Intensity 9.0, the highest is between 7.0 ~ 8.0 on some chapters.

I need to make a much more powerful weapon if I want to tackle on the bosses on the highest difficulty level. By the way does the weapon you have equipped effect the Three Sacred Treasures or...

(click to show/hide)

... against the bosses or enemies in those stages? Like more powerful shots than usual because the normal weapon you equipped is powerful?
Sometimes against the Final Boss I feel like I'm not doing enough damage AND it's bloody hard as hell to avoid all of the Final Boss's attack during the

Gilgamesh is playable, in the article or scan in mentions "Both Gilgamesh and the Protagonist face off against a mysterious foe, what will they do next!?" or something like that. I was honestly floored when I saw the news on Gilgamesh being playable.

However you've forgot to mention the game has been delayed, being pushed back from Spring 2012 to Winter 2012 so they could polish the story between the Master and Servants and the events surrounding the Moon Cell.

I can't wait to get it, but it's going to be a while before it's released and a US version localized if possible (Aksys did say they would bring over the sequel of Fate/Extra if Extra did well and from what I've heard it's gone beyond their expectations so it's likely we'll get a localized in the future).

New Update!
http://www.siliconera.com/2012/04/11/pokemon-black-and-white-2s-new-trainers-and-rivals-hit-japan-in-june/

From siliconera:
Pokemon: Black and White 2 has two new protagonists – a guy with a visor and blue jacket and a girl with brown Sailor Moon style hair. There’s a smug looking new rival too. The magazine also introduced Akuroma who is a researcher dressed in a lab coat. New gym leaders include Shizui who is water type and Homika who is poison type (note: names will probably change when Pokemon: Black and White 2 comes out overseas).

Pokemon: Black and White 2 takes place two years after the previous game and begins in Hiougi City. Players will be able to register 300 Pokemon in their Pokedex some of which will be brand new. We also have some details about the two Kyurems. Black Kyurem has Freeze Volt and White Kyurem has Cold Flare.

New Characters:

This is for the 3DS, right? Damn I wish the 3DS wasn't region-lock 'cause it looks like this game won't make it out of Japan unless they really think this game would do well outside of Japan.

Besides didn't Namco release Tales of the World: Radiant Mythology that had characters from a Tales game that never made it to the US, such as Tales of Rebirth. It's possible that the game could be released outside of Japan... I really want it to.

And those X and Zero sprites... awesome! 8)
By the way is X's name written simply as "Rockman (Megaman)" in that article picture?

Chris, we only know it's coming to the states this year. My guess is May-July, mainly because the majority of voice acting is done being recorded (David Gallagher confirmed he was done recording his lines as Riku, and also confirmed that Haley Joel Osment had finished his lines as Sora).

Well I'll be patient and wait for the game. No spoilers for me!
