True... I wonder why the omitted those?

I wonder if any of you guys are aware of this?

It does make sense with the mask part AND I'm a little shocked how the Majora's Mask's eye and the Fused Shadow mask's "eye" pattern look very much alike but then again both were made by "mask loving" tribes from a long time ago.

There's no concept art for Minish Cap, or any of the games that use the Four Sword.

:C

Also check the new avatar.

Ah, didn't notice... than again they used the Wind Waker style for those games so it guess to them it was moot point but it would've been nice to see SOMETHING for those games.

And nice one Avatar by the way... it pretty awesome! And I loved the comic in the back of the book, it shows how the legend truly began for the series and what the "first" Link was like which was awesome and I'm more interest in his history at that time.

I just received my copy of Hyrule Historia today as well! 8)
Enjoying it so far, catch you guys on the flip side!

And those musics you guys picked out... nice choices!

Got a chance to read my copy of the Hyrule Historia and it's good but there's on thing that bugs me... the lack of Majora's Mask information in it.

It has about 2 to 3 pages about it in the book regarding the timeline plot AND artwork while all the other series have at least 4 or more pages to them in the timeline and artwork section and it boggles my mind. I was expecting to learn more about this game the most as it's my favorite Zelda game of all times.

The only thing in the book that does shed a few light in the game story is that Navi is indeed the friend that Link is looking for as he venture inside the Forbidden Forest, also known as the Lost Woods, that connects the worlds of Hyrule and Termina and this officially states it though I'm not sure if the manga of Majora's Mask is really consider canon to the game itself with a few things done differently and it Hyrule Historia mentions that Link used the Fierce Deity Mask to destroy Majora's Mask which in a way means that canonically Link obtain the Fierce Deity mask and used it against the Majora's Mask.

And there were concept art for Adult Link that never made it into the game so the Fierce Deity was designed around that... which was very likely and not that hard to imagine.

Another thing it touched upon was the Deku Scrub tree you see in the beginning of the game and the book mentions that the spirit of the Deku Scrub that died in the forest connecting Hyrule and Termina was used to cursed Link into his Deku Scrub form. Though whether Skull Kid with Majora's Mask killed the Deku Scrub in the forest or the Deku Scrub simply died by lost in the woods remains to be seen and is never touched upon nor is the Deku Scrub refer to the Butler's Son but the ending of the game otherwise confirms with the Butler grieving over the died Deku Scrub tree in the forest.

I wanted to know more about the Skull Kid and see if the developers confirm that this Skull Kid is the exact same Skull Kid from Ocarina of Time where Link meets in the Lost Woods and plays Saria's Song and gives him the Skull Mask. Well the Skull Kid in Majora's Mask did mention Link "smelled" like the fairy boy that taught him that song and in the beginning seems to recognize him.

And there's other characters I wanted to know as well... kinda of a darn shame that we didn't get the chance to learn more about than while the other series gets more notice.

Either way it's an excellent book, just wish there was more to the Majora's Mask section.

Kinda missing the cel-shaded look from the Gamecube version to the HD remake. I loved the cartoon feel and approach Wind Waker had, but I'll most likely get it in the future and the other new Zelda game.

Do you think it will have a Co-Op Story like Link has an actual companion that fights alongside of him instead of giving him advice and certain abilities? It would be cool if Link had a partner to do team attacks with and the such... I'm very much looking forward to the new Zelda game that will bring in a multiplayer aspect to it.

In retrospect, I'm still hoping for a 3DS Majora's Mask. A Wii U one would be sweet as well.

Majora's Mask is my FAVORITE LoZ game of all time! I so want to get a remake of it!

There's THREE Sakura lookalikes in this game and are bosses, Passion Lips here is one of them. The first one seen is B.B. (under the initial name as "the Mysterious Black Magus").

But I agree... what WERE they thinking? Her chest size are insane! They could've made them like Caster's but bigger than hers.

Definitely getting the Y version, because the Legendary is kickbutt to me! And the Fire Fox is going to be my starter and have Fennekin be female and I shall name her Tamamo!

By the way, I'm surprised no one has commented on the "DNA" symbols on the Japanese logos of Pokemon Y and X seeing as the letters Y and X refer to the chromosomes in our DNA to determine our gender. Hmm, I wonder if that means something in this game?

Actually it's more of the boxart, book, and soundtrack than the figma that I actually want from the White Virgin edition but it will be my first figma if I get it! ^_^
Sadly you don't get the soundtrack with the regular edition.

Fate/Extra has been ONCE again delayed and will come out March 28, 2013... which is a good thing for me as I'll definitely have enough for the White Virgin Edition now! ^_^

And here's the latest trailer and confirming the new date:

PS: Good god... they really went with those Sakura designs. ^_^;
Hopefully players won't be too distracted... but I'm curious to what Saber or Caster will say to their Master if they are ogling the Sakura clones' "appearance".

Wow I've never seen the Japanese version of Digimon but has Tai always sounded that childish and Matt sound that manly in the japanese version? Isn't Matt like in elementary school at the time, I forget.

I never saw Digimon Seasons 1 - 4 in Japanese (some videos of S3 a bit) so I can't say for sure.

Though I really look forward to this game even though it has little to no chance of getting localized, I really hate that. It's going to be a great game I know it!

I have to agree with Ruri, they went overboard with the designs... especially Passion Lips' design. Was that really necessary? :|

Also $200 for the White Virgin version is very costly while the Normal version is $80 for importing. Dammit, if only I could make a little bit more money! :'(
I'm planning on getting Ni nu Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch, Aliens: Colonial Marines, Tales of Xillia, and Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate.

Hopefully I can save up $200 soon enough, I'll barely have enough left over for food and such! ^_^;

Fan Creations / Re: How do you make your own Mega Man title logo?
« on: November 30, 2012, 04:28:22 AM »
If you're adding a silhouette, draw that as a separate element. If you can draw each element separately, and then combine them in Photoshop, based on your layout mockup, then that would be the best way to go about it.

QuickEdit: Moved to Fan Creations, since it's talking about fan creations.

Alright, thank you very much!

Fan Creations / Re: How do you make your own Mega Man title logo?
« on: November 30, 2012, 04:05:51 AM »
Do what I do: Get a bunch of logo references out and ready, then draw thumbnails. Pick which design thumbnail you think if best and draw a mock-up. Scan the mock-up and then finalize it. It's all of three steps and is pretty much the same method as others use, with some minor differences here and there.

Hmm... I suppose that's a better way of going on about it. Alright I'll do that! I already have what I want for the title logo to look like anyway but the references will help big time! Going to take some time to make it work though, with the little character silhouette next to or on the title.

Fan Creations / How do you make your own Mega Man title logo?
« on: November 30, 2012, 03:52:51 AM »
Wasn't exactly sure where to put this, but since it's a Mega Man-related thread I thought it would be OK to post it here but anyway I need help with something. You see I'm trying to make my own Mega Man title logo from scratch, except from using other titles and modifying it, but it's based on Mega Man X and its focused on the last versions of the series (X8) but I've been unable to find any tutorial on making it so I was wondering if everyone here knows or has some tips or materials to help me make it.

I'm making my Mega Man X title logo unique and special and it requires the "X" in the name because I plan to add something to it in the same exact font style of the title logo but it's been proving unproductive for me at this time. So does anyone know? I like to make is as professional-looking as I can get it.

It would help if you said the name of the Visual Novel, I think it's Ever17 if the order is correct.

If it is I think this is the best I can do since I don't play VNs, this has the list of songs in that VN.

http://www.animelyrics.com/game/ever17

That video is just a "How to make a Visual Novel" tutorial sort of video and just uses various songs for that video. The uploader didn't even credit the songs he used which is a bummer. I don't think the song is really Ever17 even if the video uses Ever17 as footage for VN examples.

And I checked out that list you provided me... none of those songs are it. :<
This is going to be harder than I thought, but thank you anyway!

That... doesn't really help.

I need the name of the song to make my search go faster and easier and considering the large volume of videos on YouTube and its wonky search engine at times it's going to be difficult to find it.

Sorry to pester you with this question, but seeing as everyone around here have a vast knowledge about the Japanese culture and thought maybe you know about this song:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ck_rY5qGygc&feature=player_embedded

It starts at 1:04 and continues on until 1:39, about, and I've heard this song so many times before but I don't know the name of the song which I want to know so I can find it. Does anyone one? I want to find this song, it's really great and I love it!

By the way, that Visual Novel essentials are horrible... I don't know how that person thought it was absolutely necessary to have those in a VN. -_-;

« on: October 29, 2012, 01:45:49 AM »
Both Magic Pengel and Graffiti Kingdom were released in the US, but it wasn't well known during the time and I first saw it in a Gaming Magazine and then again at Toys R' Us where I purchased it and didn't regret it. Looked the game, but they stopped making this type of game. The closest ones would be the "Draw to Life" games but they don't have the same level of depth and were made by a different game company.

I wish the Magic Pengel series would get revived and have a game on the Wii U, the system's tablet is perfect for the creation part of the game!

Sorry for bumping this ancient, but there's something I like to say.

If anyone remembers the Magic Pengel games (Magic Pengel: The Quest for Colors and Graffiti Kingdom (Magic Pengel 2 in Japan)) developed by Garakuda-Studio and Taito and released in the US by Agetec, I think the Wii U's tablet is PERFECT for it and excellent way to return back to the series!

Seeing the part of the game's system is to draw your own creations and use them to fight is perfect to use the Wii U's tablet to draw your own creations with more precision and accuracy to really make your creations look amazing! You could use the old system if you want, but it would be great if the series returned on the Wii U!

I prefer the Turn-Based approach of the first Magic Pengel game as I really liked the story in the first one more than the second game ever though the second had an interesting story.

I like Turn-Based battles, but the Action Platform part in the sequel was great too as you can fight anyway you want but I really think the Turn-Based system with the Rock-Paper-Scissor format works great for this series! Though I really think it should allow you what type of Doodle/Graffiti Creature should be instead of the colors used to determine if the Doodle/Graffiti Creature is going to be an Attack-Type, Magic-Type, or Defense-Type character.

It's more of an unknown game for the PS2 than an underrated game. Hopefully it comes back one way or another!

Also the sequel, Graffiti Kingdom, has the first "official" cameo appearance of Reimu Hakurei from the Touhou games made by ZUN as he had a part in the production of the sequel under the name of "Flying Maiden" for those who are a fan of the series.

Anyone hoping for a game like this on the Wii U?
