Personally, I'd just like them to finish releasing the [tornado fang]ing DVD sets already. I'm missing Darkwing Duck episodes, which makes PB rage!  B(

In terms of games, Darkwing Duck would be my first choice, especially if it's done like this. Second choice....Hmmmmmmmmmmm.... while I do love me some Chip & Dale's Rescue Rangers, the first Magical Quest game is reaaaally good.

Ah... Darkwing Duck. I loved that cartoon show, I remember watching it as a kid. Sigh... Disney isn't what they use to be these days, I hardly see any new or awesome cartoon shows on their channel and they only have those live action shows.

Oh and Chip n Dale's Rescue Rangers! Loved it! ^_^

I want those shows back!

What.

You haven't heard?

Now back on topic... did they mention a release date for Ducktales?

My guess is that they'd probably only go with the Disney Afternoon ones. Most likely no further than Goof Troop, if that. Hell they might even skip Tale Spin.

The good this is that if this does well it could lead to Capcom teaming up with WayForward to do more games, possibly even MM platformers. Or not. Only time will tell.

I hope so!

I'm looking towards the future with eager and hope! Especially since FFX and FFX-2 HD remasters have been confirmed for a US release this year!

Now let's see more Disney games make a full comeback! What do you guys want to see be return in glorious HD gameplay?

In the end only you can decide what the 'best and most suitable proper' names are, others opinion on the subject doesn't really matter.

True... very sound statement.

Aww you guys, this is depressing. Every other feed I post in are excited for this, don't ruin this with that mega man stuff. I'd rather rename this site to Duckburg Perfect Memories: Gizmo Duck Rocket Adventures than hearing of another lost promise of the blue bomber.

Darkwing Duck HD, and Chip n Dale starring playable Gadget would be so much better than a new Mega Man game anyway.

You're right... let's leave that depressing conversation in another topic to talk about it or behind in the past.

Looks to see that there's 3 pages worth of conversation... wow! Didn't see that. >_>;
That makes my little message up here moot then... hehehe.

Right now... Ducktales is coming back in HD! :D
I'm excited! And I don't know which system to get the game for! Though I practically have all of them...

I wonder if they'll re-release Mickey's Magic Quest in HD? God, that was among of my favorite Mickey Mouse games... and maybe even the Goof Troop video game as well! My dad and I used to play that a lot back in the day! Him as Goofy and me as Max, it was the perfect father-son bonding time for our life with that game.

So they are bringing back the slightly more obscure titles, still nothing Mega Man. Wow Capcom.

Also hate to burst the bubble on Mega Man, but:

Dammit, man. You should pick names which YOU are comfortable with, and what you think is good. Sure, consulting with others is good thing too, but right now it just looks as if you lack creativity.

If you think the names sound good to you, just friggin' go and write already. Otherwise it might end in "HURR DURR I LOST INTEREST IN WRITING THIS".

Sheesh, I was just getting some opinions on them!

I like the names I picked for them and I've been doing my research to find the best and most suitable proper names for these characters.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chinese_guardian_lion

Well I was going with the Japanese translation, so I didn't know that Shishi means "Stone Lion" in Chinese.

Monkey: Son Goku (孫悟空)
Rabbit: Inaba of the Moon (月の稲葉 - Inaba of the Moon)
Tiger: Daigyakusatsu (大虐殺 - Carnage)
Sheep: Onkōsōgen (温厚草原 - Gentle Grassland/Meadow)
Horse: Longma (龍馬 - Dragon Horse or An Eminent Person)
Dog: Ookami (狼 - Wolf) or Ookami-no-Inugami (狼の犬神 - Dog God's Wolf) <- I don't know if I can use this one or it is Inugami-no-Ookami (犬神の狼) instead?
Snake: Hakujoushi (ハクジョウシ)
Roster: Kou of the Sun (日の光 - Light of the Sun)
Ox: Torvald (means Thor's Ruler)
Boar: Tamotsu (保 - Defender/Protector)
Rat: Reinusutto (霊盗人 - Spirit Thief)
Dragon: Kokushibyou (黒死病 - Black Death)

Collective Known as: Shinpijū (Mystic Beasts)

I believe I like these names, but if you think some of the need a change or have a better one that associates them to mystical creatures better let me know!

OK guys let's relax. ^_^;

I'm a little disappoint there's no HD game of Days as I would've loved to play the Multiplayer Mode online with other people which sadly I don't have anyone around me to play Kingdom Hearts with. True some parts of the story dragged on, I liked the Ice Cream scene on top of the Clock Town but there were a few unnecessary extras into the mix, and some of the days weren't needed but considering how strong enemies become over time I think they wanted to allow players to level up as much as possible which they didn't need to do as players could grind at past missions if they wanted to.

I like the story of Days so I don't mind a movie version of it, though I would've loved to have the game of it too with a Movie Gallery added to the HD Collection to allow players to watch their favorite scenes again without playing the game from the beginning again.

Translations from Beast's Lair:

Archer: Don’t be led astray! Stay alert, Master! This is a trap that’ll devour your spirit particles! Your strong point is your stubbornness in clinging to life! Recall! What was the name of the idiot who entrusted his blade to you?

Sakura: Do you remember anything, even a little, of what happened during the Holy Grail War?

Leo: The Far Side of the Moon; lost memories; a mysterious old-fashioned school building; a world without an exit; and us, left behind. It'll be a battle within her mind from now on. We too will need time to prepare our own minds.

BB: What are you rushing for? Let’s settle down, shall we? No matter how hard you all struggle, you won't make it in time for anything.

You know, I don't like using Waira for the name of the Boar Zodiac Animal in my story...

Hmm... perhaps "Yaseishishi" would be better.

Yasei = Feral
Shishi = Beast

Yaseishishi = Feral Beast.

Yeah, I think that's much better than Waira. Plus they're creatures of the Chinese Zodiac Signs have original legends so I guess it doesn't hurt to be a little different with their approach.

What do you guys think of the Zodiac Animals names I picked out for them?

Posted on: March 17, 2013, 09:15:00 PM
Hey there! I wanted your input guys on the group name of these Zodiac creatures I'm basing my story's legend on.

Which do you think I should use to refer to them as such?

神獣 (Godly Beast) - "Kami-jū"

神秘獣 (Mystic Beast) - "Shinpi-jū"

I was going with Mystic Beast, but the Godly Beast (namely "Kami-jū/Kamiju" which sounds cooler than Shinpi-jū), so I'm a little on the fence here. What do you guys like better?

Uh huh... any other suggestions?
I hope this is a good name for the Rat Zodiac Animal and for the rest of the Animals.

Monkey: Son Goku
Rabbit: Inaba of the Moon
Tiger: Daigyakusatsu
Sheep: Kusachi-teisei
Horse: Longma
Dog: Ookami or Inugami (What would Ookami-no-Inugami mean anyway?)
Snake: Hebikyōsō-zai or Bai Suzhen/Hakujoushi
Roster: Kaiden of the Sun
Ox: Ushioni
Boar: Waira
Rat: Tājunezubōrei
Dragon: Kokushibyou

Well... that's what I've came up with so far. Anything I need to update or change? I'm not so sure about Boar's name, but it was the closest to a beast name of one of Japan's mythical creatures of lore and for some reason there was nothing on pig, boar, or hog when I did a search for it.

You could always dump the word into Google Translate.  Well, the non-Romanized spelling of it.

Doesn't seem to grant me what I really want for a name honestly and goes for a more direct or literally translation.

For the "Sheep" Zodiac Animal, and for the rest of the Zodiac Animals, I'm going for Japanese names for them and I want to find out how to say "whispering meadow" in Japanese for the Sheep's name.

I got this, "Sōgen no sasayaki (草原のささやき)", as the translation of it but I'm looking for how it fits as a name as oppose to a term or place. It would be great to find a way to write Japanese names for my Zodiac Animals for my story that means what I want that translate well in English.

Monkey: Son Goku
Rabbit: Inaba of the Moon
Tiger: ??? (Japanese name for: Carnage Den Arrows)
Sheep: ??? (Japanese name for: Whispering Meadow)
Horse: Longma (Placeholder name meaning "Dragon Horse" in Japanese)
Dog: Ookami
Snake: Hebikyōsō-zai (Thought of combining two Japanese words to one, Hebi = Snake and Kyōsō-zai = Tonic, so Snake Tonic)
Roster: ???
Ox: ???
Boar: ???
Rat: ???
Dragon: Kokushibyou (The Black Dragon of Death)

Still having some trouble for some of them, hmm...

I've been gone a while due to errands and I come back to see some interesting facts on the Zodiac animals. Thanks for the tip Dr. Wily II!

Ahem, Chinese here. >_>

Sorry, didn't mean to offend you. X(

Anyway I might as well as go with original names for them instead, I have a reason I'm not going with the 4 Sovereign names for them as I have those 4 (plus the 5th one, the Yellow Dragon of the Center) interact with them later, so here's what I got so far:

Monkey - Son Goku
Rabbit - Inaba of the Moon (yes, the entire thing is the Zodiac Rabbit's name)

I'm not sure what to call the other 10 animals and the reason the rabbit is called "Inaba of the Moon" is that in my story's legend this mystical rabbit once jumped to the moon from the earth and came back down.

On that subject, does anyone know what "Inaba" means in Japanese? I've been trying to but google brings up Reisen and Tewi from the Touhou Project series which is problematic because it doesn't mention the Inaba name meaning when I type in "what does inaba mean in japanese" and I've looked at other sources that mention the "White Hare of the Moon" and the word "Inaba" seems to be associate with rabbits/bunnies so I stuck with Inaba as its name.

But Son Goku is Japanese, Son Wukong is the original Chinese version.

Oh... I thought Son Goku is what he was called in Chinese.

Oh brother... I'm looking for legendary animals names that corresponding to the 12 animals in the Chinese Zodiac to use in a short story I'm making.

For example Son Goku is a legendary figure from the story "Journey to the West" and is in fact a Monkey figure, as the Monkey King, so seeing as one of the Zodiac Animals is a Monkey I'm associating the Zodiac Monkey to be Son Goku as its name in my story.

And I'm not going with naming them after their species, that's just unoriginal, lazy, and hardly creative.

So is there anything like that with legendary animal figures in Chinese lore?

The 12 animals of the Chinese Zodiac, do they have names associate with them or legends about each of these animals which they have names?

I'm a little curious as I want to write a little story about each of the Zodiac Animals but I don't see any names for them or know any good Chinese names that would fit for them, with the exception of Son Goku being the only Legendary Chinese Name for Animal of the Zodiac (namely the Monkey) so it's a little hard to find other fitting names for the rest of them when I lack Chinese Folklore and Culture knowledge.

So I'm wondering if anyone else knows if the 12 Zodiac Animals might have names or legends about each animal or possible befitting Chinese names for them. Anything?

I'm open to suggested names for them if that's alright.

Its kind of a biased opinion.

Of course you like it because it has your waifu in it.

Eh... not really. I enjoy the game as it, the battle system is really interesting and I enjoy the plot of the first game.

Definitely going to check out the Male MC and Gilgamesh and see how Gilgamesh is like in CCC.

By the way:
http://www.siliconera.com/2013/03/12/fateextra-ccc-has-auto-battle-mode-for-players-who-prefer-to-watch-fights/

Apparently Fate/Extra CCC has a "character creation" mode of sorts where you can change clothes (already known), equip graphics, and alter coloring. I'm not sure what the last two are but it seems like we might change the colors of the characters hair, eye, and clothing if I'm guessing right.

That would be SO cool if it's true! ^_^

Extra freedom in molding our characters, so in a way like Rin or Shinji has done in the game where they hack their avatars and changed it to their liking (which mimics the F/SN looks). I'm looking out for more information on the game! If anyone else is interest.

The game is all pandering and no substance.

Naturally people like you just eat it up.

I like it for the fact:

*It's an RPG
*It's a Fate game
*The battle system is fun
*The story is intriguing (to an extent)
*Number of fun extras throw in like Costumes

I see it's a very good game, despite the heavy fanservice it has (then again, Dead or Alive and Senran Kagura to name a few, have a good stroke of fanservice as well), and I like the characters and has quite the personality behind it.

I guess I see potential in it where others don't. ^_^

Its funny how the more they release about this game, the more uninterested I become.

To each to their own.

More info on the game...

-There will be an "auto-battle" function. It picks the right option for you when you can see what move the enemy's going to make, but it'll pick randomly for the ? ones.
-There will be a map system with objective markers and stuff.
-The MCs will also have other costumes.
-All Servants will get casual clothes and swimsuits.
-Gilgamesh's and Archer's secrets will be exposed.
-There is/are normal end(s), as well as a Servant end depending on your interactions with your Servant.

It's not that bad... sure there's fanservice, but you guys don't exactly call on Senran Kagura with its over-the-top fanservice.

Besides Fate/Extra CCC's story is looking interesting, though I cannot agree with some of the Sakura designs, and might be better than the first one.

And it seems we have a couple of familiar faces making a return as well.

Translations courtesy to the folks over at Beast's Lair:

Leo: Under the name of Leonardo B. Harway, I hereby announce the founding of the Tsukumihara Student Council!
Shinji: Whaat? Student council? Teaming up to leave this place? Seriously?
Rani: Excuse me. This is Rani VIII, requesting permission to enter.
Rin: Well then, I’ll introduce myself again. I am Tohsaka Rin, one of the Masters who joined the Holy Grail War. We’ll meet again (more literally "let's meet again") if chance permits.
Gatou: Repoooorting in! I am the thread of spider silk of Amitābha dangled in hell! I hear that I was called for so I've instantly come for alms!
Leo: ...Very well, then (literally "it can't be helped"). Gatou-san, I'll ask you to be in charge of making the tea, patrolling the school, and cleaning the toilets. Brother, please provide guidance for him.
