P.s. I'm not a MLP fan but far be it from me to judge one who is. I have seen the show and it is in my opinion exceptionally well made. Just not my cup of tea.I slag a friend over MLP whenever the opportunity arises. He knows I don't mean it, so he tags me in his MLP posts, haha.

I've seen that it was to indicate a checksum performed by the game software to determine if the Pokemon was legitimately created in a Pokemon game, rather than hacked in by a Pokecreator.Less checksum, moreso a marker for pokemon caught/bred in Kalos. One of the reasons behind the ver1.1 update for PokeBank was that people had found a way to give the pentagon to Transporter'd pokemon, as it was just a hex value stored in the pokemon.
