News and Announcements / Re: Mega Man Legends 3 Has Been Cancelled
« on: July 20, 2011, 05:13:24 PM »
(in before I get an earful)

Now, I respect everyone's right to an opinion, but these opinions that I'm seeing aren't going to make this situation any better.
All I'm seeing is childrens' bickering, and I think that the community as a whole (if it isn't already dead or dying) needs to raise the bar. But that's my opinion.

Still... I have no shame in saying the following quote was part of a ban letter from 2008, sent to me by none other than PB. And I wouldn't even have logged in to post this if I didn't think it was appropriate.

Quote
I've read some stuff that made me laugh, facepalm, and just shake my head in complete amazement. I mean really, what does Rockman truly mean to you?  Is he your religion, your God, your savior, your Scientology?  Is this series some kind of huge driving force in your life, as if the very thought of losing it means losing out on true happiness and everlasting peace?  Seriously, if it is, then please do me a favor and seek some kind of counseling or professional help.  It's. A. Video. Game. and IT. DOESN'T. MATTER.  It's entertainment.  It's leisure.  It's something to relax too after a long day of school or work.  It's certainly not something to cause someone stress.

So what Capcom pretty much ruined one of your video game heroes. Can't be helped, just move on.
Surely you have other games you can play.

Those people have no right to, Sparky; you're a friend of mine, at least.

You didn't have to be such a dick about it, learn to read the comments first before you make such rash posts.

I'm sorry, what?

I never said anything about a goddamn boycott, so don't be cramming words into my mouth, I just said if nobody gives me a damn good reason to watch the show I'm just not going to watch it, simple as that.

don't care

unless somebody gives me a damn good reason to watch madoka then i'm not watching it

1532
No, it's just Anarchy bitching about his boycott of the series, nothing important.

I got the installer from my ISPs gaming repository, but it was from April. I haven't had the heart to finish the launcher update just yet because it's a bit big for me at the moment with my quota, plus from when i tried, i was having bad speeds with their servers.

I don't actually think that OP knows R&F came afterward, so I can assume he's asking how 'PlayStation'-era graphics can be rendered on a Super Famicom.

...I think.

Keep in mind that R&F was one of the very last games to show up for the Super Famicom, and was actually released two years after R8. You'd think they would have learned a few things in those two years to be able to release R&F on the SFC.

(On-topic:)
I made a US account, but didn't think about how big the installer would be. Still not played it yet, have to finish getting the latest update.

Or do you expect us to carry a PSP on one pocket, Vita in another [...]

It only makes sense to be backwards compatible. Consoles you may have a point, but on handhelds it's unacceptable.
It's Sony's strategy, plain and simple.
Regardless of arguing about console or handheld, just look at the PS3: Sony don't give a damn about backwards compatibility, or at least only enough to make milk you for more cash through useless trinkets such as the USB adaptor for PS2 peripherals, before gradually removing PS2 capability from their units.

Same is happening to the VITA, where you have the possibility to play PSP titles, but at extra expense. And even then, there will only be a brief amount of third-party titles among the SCE-developed or -produced titles. There are two choices:

1) Sell your PSP and put a dent into buying your VITA and wait until the 'aftermarket' alternative comes about, because it could happen. Or perhaps just wait for the 'rebate' scheme that probably won't happen
2) Keep your PSP for posterity's sake, either because trade value hardly justifies turfing anything in or there's the fact you have a handheld that can play just about anything (do you want to try trusting Sony this time round?)

If you keep hesitating about it, then just... don't do it?

Either that, or...
