Wow, double update. This time it's a rant.
Oh yeah, I mentioned something about doing an opinon piece of the Big Three's E3 conferences... I'm finally getting around to actually watching those, so I'll get back to you on that.
However, the rant is somewhat E3 related, but the opinions for this rant won't interfere with my future piece.

Today's Rant Subject: PSPGo isn't going very far.
At first I was actually willing to give the PSPGo a chance. Hell, maybe Sony would announce that the Go would do something the PSP already can't do. Well, I learned otherwise today. Not only does it seem that my PSP can do what the Go can... Actually, it's just that: My PSP can already do what the Go can. Except the Go can't play UMD games.
The Go, from what the interview suggests, has a battery life that's basically the same as the PSP that some of us may already have. Now I've had the PSP since when it used to be priced at $250, but the fact that this newer version does less than my first shipment model is shocking.
Sony, you're pulling a Sega. What do I mean by that? You're releasing too many consoles that do the same, or less, than what you already released. I honestly hope you don't plan on releasing a thin PS3 soon.
You're looking to get new consumers to purchase this device. However, when the alternative PSP is $80 cheaper, and even the DSi is $90 cheaper, then you're pretty much destined to fail.
You also say you're trying to compete with the Ipod Touch/Phone... Uh, what? Why would you try to compete with cell phone gaming, when you're already having trouble from regular gaming? This makes little sense, Sony.
All in all, I can see the PSPGo going the way of the GameBoy Micro: failing miserably and forgotten only being remembered as a mistake on an otherwise decent record.
