Dark Souls II, very much enjoying it the changes are nearly all welcome. That being said, the fact that mobs won't re spawn after 11-15 kills is BS. It'll make grinding for armor parts/weapons/titanite shards very difficult. Hopefully that will get patched out soon.

Otherwise Dark Souls II is an amazing game thus far, fixes all my issues with the first two games.

Taylor walked over to Blue, overhearing her. "You can always join us. We could always use more allies in the fight against the mad doctor, and you've proven yourself quite capable. Especially with that whole 'stuff the Joes in a ship and blow it up' technique!"

"I've had some experience with mad doctors, but sure least I can do after you all came to my rescue." Blue pauses for a second. "Speaking of that, the android who attacked me during the battle; flare star. She was created by a space pirate called white beard, when I arrived in orbit before he shot me down his ships were orbiting some kinda space station--is it possible that white beard and this Wily guy have teamed up?"

Blue sighs slumping up against a ruined wall "What a mess...at least we took it down though." she watches the others as they begin check their injured friends. "So--uh, what happens now? I'm kinda stranded on this world now and I'm not quite sure whats really going on still."

((All done.))

Good point, didn't think of that.  -AC Oh well, still a good movie.

1007
Therese nothing really wrong with it's premise as a time travel story I agree though that no Borg queen is better than a Borg queen but that was her best story by far. Like most forces of nature they lose their teeth if you try to add elements to humanize them.

1008
Endgame always felt like bad fan fiction to me honestly, bat mobile armor? Really?  Year of Hell was honestly the series strongest two episodes, too bad they copped out with the reset button.

I didn't mind the Borg queen in First Contact (another good time travel story  8D ) but then again the Borg were fairly intimidating in that rather what ever the hell voyager did to them.

From the reaction of the other guy it might not even be a real gun either.

((Whew this update took longer than I planned; mix of real life and laziness.))

Dark Star II Stage 3 - Cargo Elevator

Theme: Kirby: Halberd
(click to show/hide)

Majority of this stage takes place on the primary cargo elevator at the core of the Dark Star II, as it rises up through the decks it will occasionally stop to allow Buccaneers out en mass for Blue to fight. The third stop will unleash various Guard bots and the final stop will have blue contend with a Shadow Guard in close quarters before being allowed to proceed.

Once clear of the elevator it's a short set of hazards to traverse.

Entering a large hanger bay Whitebeard decides to make his presence known....

White beard: Arrr, that's far enough wench!
Blue: White beard, if you don't want to lose another ship hand over the omni-gem.
White beard: Haha, I admire your spirit girl but this time things will be different. I've made a few enhancements to my mecha from last time, it's immune to your pathetic little transformations now!

Boss Fight- White Beard Machine#6 (Kong Bot Mk.II)

A highly modified version of the Kong Bot from adventure#1; smaller, sleeker and more agile than before. It's armor is impervious to Blue's elemental forms and any attempt to redirect it's punch attack back at it does nothing but cause a slight stumble.

Machine#6 will attempt to crush Blue as it walks too and from around the arena, after walking a bit it will attempt one it's attacks.

Attack#1 - Super Jump

Much like Machine#4's jump attack it will knock blue off her feet from the quake and cause heavy damage if she's caught in the shock wave. Like before it's a one hit kill if she fails to get out the way and is crushed by the mecha.

Attack#2 - Spark Punch

The Spark punch works like machine#4's causing heavy damage if it crushes blue. Rather than cause an earthquake or shock wave this time it will generate a stream of electricity along the ground briefly. Blue can jump over this or take moderate damage. Attempting to grab the fist still works but it's armor is now immune to being struck with it's own limb and will electrocute her if she fails to act quickly enough.

Blue unable to directly damage the mech decides to "disarm" it by pulling at it's weakest point, the ball joints on it's limbs, rather than throwing the fist back she pulls it the other way instead...

It proves effective. Blue manages to repeat this a second time robbing the mech of all but one of it's attacks and seeing a chance to directly attack the reinforced cockpit strikes a final blow using the other hand as a makeshift platform.

((Will do the story bit as a separate update; this one got kinda pic heavy.))

Dark Souls II is out tomorrow, it's a slow week at work so I have tomorrow off.  :3

Yeah it's not uncommon for work on franchises to be given to other teams or even outsourced. As far as I can tell from a quick wiki search the only part Nintendo played in the CDI trilogy development was sharing artwork for character designs and nothing more.

In the end though considering all the trippy virus related stuff we see later in the X series I don't really feel time travel is that out of place thematically, as for why we don't see it in the x series? If wily invented it in Rockman World 2 then it's possible any knowledge of it died with him. If it was something he stole it's a safe bet such technology was hidden away to avoid further abuse.

Maybe Zan has a better theory on that. *shrugs*

Whoops I did forgot to mention TOS, I'm a terrible trek fan.    :'(

Oh The Voyage Home was a fun time travel story too. "Well, Double dumb ass on you!"

1015
The one were Data goes back in time isn't really that good. Yeah, most of Voyager ones were because Voyager sucks. The DS9 one were Sisko has to pretend to be that famous guy though was meh.

And then there's the majority of Enterprise, or so I've heard. I stopped watching that show after the 4th episode.

True, better examples are...
Yesterday's Enterprise

Cause and Effect
http://en.memory-alpha.org/wiki/Cause_and_Effect_%28episode%29
All good Things

DS9 had Trials and Tribble-ations

In a Mirror Darkly from Enterprise' fourth season was pretty fun too.

It should: that's why retcons exist. Neither Wand of Gamelon or Faces of Evil are acknowledged on the official Zelda timeline, and yet they both exist.

Even then, I don't think time travel works well with fictional universes that have a well-established continuity, the reason being because it introduces a very, very powerful rule-changing tool that easily changes everything.

For instance, what happened to time travel technology post-Classic series? Why doesn't X just go in the past and destroy Sigma before he starts his Maverick rebellion? Why don't X or Zero just go back and stop Magma Dragoon from framing Repliforce and starting the war in X4? Suddenly, with the existence of time travel, a lot of things become trivialized.

The main reason CDI games aren't acknowledged because they weren't made by Nintendo plus there is nothing to retcon they never fit in with the other games at the time to begin with.

Maybe time travel was banned, or the technology was lost over the years, seems to happen a lot in this franchise. I get what you mean but in the end it depends on the writer a good franchise is adaptable and can work with any plot point as long as it's well introduced, maybe mega man isn't a good example. >.>

Some of the worst as well.

True, with so many episodes it's hard not to have some stinkers here or there, most of the worst episodes weren't time travel related though, just voyager related. XD

Blue generates her flare dash as a makeshift shield, the first saber wave dispersing against the flame barrier but also successfully taking it out. Blue comes to a skidding stop unable to fully generate another flare dash as the second blade connects. "UGH!!"

As the explosion clears blue is sent flying crashing into the ground hard; as she rolls to a stop her fire form fades and she returns to normal. Blue struggles to one knee having expended a large amount of energy with her previous onslaughts. "Ugh--this is like fighting shadow star all over again..."

Maybe we should see how this "Arkham Knight" plays into the story before we judge his choice in alias. Any batman fans here know if this is a character from the comics?

Extremely hyped for Dark Souls 2. I hate having to wait 10 days (after release) to play the game, but knowing the game stores around here, it could have been worse... *fingers crossed* *praise the sun* *Umbasa*
Been playing Demons Souls and Dark Souls in preperation for Dark Souls II, I am so prepared to die...again. Common FROM My body is ready for this game.  8D

First game other than Dark Souls I ever put money down for the special edition, I really want that statue and cloth world map. >.>

Considering Mega Man II (GB) is seen as one of the worst in the series (reinforced by Inafune's OCW comment and the lack of Quint in MM10), I'd have to question using Mega Man II's canon as a means to explain the extremely important gap between classic and X. Time travel is one of the worst things you can tack onto a fictional setting (that is to say, time travel only really works when the world revolves around it like Back to the Future or Zelda OoT/MM, and not some silly cop-out e.g. The Prisoner of Azkaban).

The quality of the game it's self shouldn't have any baring on the plot of the series though, I also very much disagree a franchise does not need to revolve around time travel for such a plot element to work. TV shows like Star Trek are not time travel centric at all yet some of the memorable episodes have used this element to great effect. Besides we've seen several robot masters with limited time based powers before, it's not like that plot element came out of no where.

The story seemed reeeeally generic.

True of most games from japan though, well that or overly convoluted. But yeah looks good, more side scrolling platformers are always a good thing.

1023
The quint theory always made the most sense personally, it's a subtle way of having classic mega man bow out of the spotlight.

Blue is sent toppling backwards as her dash fades out and the beam shield pushes her back. Taking advantage of blue's bad position omega raises it's beam blade with the intent of ending a threat; blue in desperation launches a fire ball at point blank range and detonates it prematurely the blinding light giving her a chance to roll back and escape.

I'd imagine it's cheap too considering how many buccaneers Blue goes through in a level.
