Before Urey entered the SS Tournament, he decided to get money for his hobby shop in the most proffesionaly decent way a citizen in the slum district of New Twistens City could...threatening people for cash.
"Give me your money or I'll stab myself...repeatedly..."
Unfourtinately for him, the first people he tried to mob was the district's local police officer.
He was chased for threatening the local authority, luckily he managed to get away by stabbing himself in the ankle, thus slowing the cop down. It wasn't long after that mistake that Urey learned about the tournament which he could get the money to keep his shop running.
