Oh neat, you have White Knight Chronicles.  Can you tell me how that game is?  I've been very curious about it since I saw it.

N-No idea, I have way too many RPGs and they take so long to get through so I haven't even been able to touch most of them yet ^^;

Fan Creations / How to play Final Fantasy XIII (no spoilers)
« on: December 29, 2009, 04:37:30 AM »

Auto Command makes me feel kinda lazy, it makes so much happen and I find myself like this in most battles jus clicking O over and over.  I have to switch the characters "roles" sometimes (L1) but that's pretty much it.  Maybe thats why I like this game so much x3

I realise you can jus keep clicking attack in most RPGs like this to get through most battles, but considering auto command will pick the best attacks/magic/etc for each situation (and current role) you really don't do much.  You CAN choose things manually (only for 1 character though) but... the game is probably better at picking them out >w<

I'm not complaining though, I love the game, I jus thought it would make a funny drawing and give me an excuse to keep drawing more nya~

It only sucks because it was hyped to all hell for so long. I've seen bitching about the game for even the smallest details. It's like people were expecting this to renew the franchise in some way even though they should know better than to expect that when it was never going to do that.

I basically only knew it was called FFXIII and watched 2 or so trailers, that's it.  Maybe thats why I'm enjoying it as I didn't really know what to expect ^^  I'm something like 15-20 hours into it and still really enjoying it.  It's not all that hard, the battles are starting to take longer but I think it's cause I'm doing something wrong/not really leveling up weapons/accesories much o.o

At the point I wouldn't be able to grind, but maybe.  The enemies show up on the "field" but it's not like you can sneak past them.  So far it looks like (and I've heard) all the battles you are forced into, and I haven't seen any of the enemies I've beaten "respawn" or anything but maybe that happens later ^^

But when they say linear, it's the map only right? There must be some kind of... sidequest?

Well, that's what people are saying.  People DO like to exaggerate, especially since it's more fun for them to say somethings failed in some way.  I'm still in the first area but I'm guessing it'll probably work like FFX did, basically keep moving forward.  There might be a way to go back or do side quests but I'm still not far enough.

People also keep saying there are really no towns or anything and all shopping is done through the save point.  You also don't seem to get gil from enemies again in this one (I've only found some from treasure chests treasure floating spinning orbs) and I guess you sell the spoils for extra money (I think you also use some of them to level up the weapons).  All the shop has for me right now are Potions and Pheonix Downs though, and it seems like everything will be very expensive (which is another complaint I've heard)

Mew~

It looks to me like the majority of the people who are upset are the hardcore RPG crowd.  Yeah there is a lot of changes, but I hope it will still be an enjoyable experiance none the less ^^

Speaking of experiance, there is none, that I've seen so far anyway.  It looks like you only level up your weapons.  Also everyone talking about how linear the game is and showing maps of jus straight line areas made me think of FFX, and thats not too far from what it turns out to be.  I'm still only in the first area but it reminds me so much of the first area from X.

The thing I'm most happy about though is that the pretty violin music they always played in the trailer is the normal battle music so you can hear it a lot, all though the battles usually finish before the good part starts >w<

More later~

So I was finally able to watch a stream of this in multiplayer today and it looked really fun and chaotic.  It was a nice watch nya, but jus made me more sad that there is no wifi/nobody close to play with >w<

It also seemed a lot easier, even though you are running and jumping all over each other it looked like you could jus bubble whenever you wanted to o.o
