I feel violated, and I haven't touched the game since then, that's just a cheap shot by the developers.
Though thinking about it now I could just equip the shotgun before I leave the room, but the damn thing took like 20 shots to kill in the boss fight, and now there's two of them in the same hallway as regular enemies, maybe more :C
