You could freelance.  It wouldn't pay a lot, but it would be a bit of money coming in.  Look around for indie devs who are in need of a programmer.

I've been looking into this, but like I said, my GM version is outdated. I've been applying and hoping that there'd be a paid job who would gladly fund my upgrade to start -- I found out that apparently Game Maker Studio's Standard edition got a big price cut. Still steep but affordable in a sense.

It's very easy to make mistakes, especially in puzzle games.
I can understand mistakes. I can't understand a guy sitting there going "Durrrrrr, what do I do? This is too hard."

I REALLY need a job now. A friend brought over Manhunt 2 and it magically sprung my PS2 into life. All I need now is a memory card, Ratchet and Clank, and a controller that doesn't have "Chinese Knockoff" written all over it...

And the problems I have with trying to find a programming job is thus: firstly, I can't just search up a programming job because I barely even know C++. The languages I'm great with are GML and Lua, though I have a bit of Java experience. Secondly, I can't even find someone on the Game Maker Community forum because the Game Maker version I use is partially obsolete, and the new version is whorishly priced. Which means I would need a job to get it. Which I can't because college and high school kids took all of the great jobs now.

It's a sad shame that a lot of people who play Catherine are slow perverts. I always find myself screaming at their Let's Plays, "You [tornado fang]ing idiot! No, don't 'undo' that, you retard! That was a good move! You do that and then you push that block and-- No! You're making it worse! OHMYFUCKINGGODGIVEMETHISGAMESOICANDOTHISMYSELFYOUFUCKINGWANKERS"
yet another copypasta from my Facebook

Why can't I find a job... ;O; Especially with Steam summer sales coming up... Why can't I find one of those miracle $300 commission job opportunities like the one I blew a couple years ago...

(Remember, Sinos did introduce himself as a robot made by Suppercut Industries, a company who, as far as Dr. Wily II knows, sent a robot into another dimension, and the upgrade capsule has "Suppercut Industries" written all over it...literally I mean. Just needs the right man to pass over it by chance...)

Tangent rocket-jumped (you heard me...rocket jumped. It's a crater, what do you want? 8U) closer to Feral Man. He spoke evenly and seriously, like a Lawful Evil villian. "From the data I have gathered, Dr. Wily II has plans of dominating the whole world. I'd like to form an alliance with him to help each other obtain our similar goals."

"And what is yoooooooooooooour goooooooooooal, mister... um..." Feral Man scratched his fur, not sure if Tangent was even in his memory bank.

"Tangent. My goal is to crush all technology that is inferior to me." His gaze drifted over to Azrial. "In fact, I'm sensing a bit of inferiority in that device." He said the word "inferiority" with a pound of animosity, as if Azrial raped his family.

Okay what about Joes?
Well if you mean the Zero Joes that Dr. Wily II mentioned before, he's at least got some chance, but it'll still be extremely hard for him to survive assuming they're as thick as that one massive Heartless battle from the beginning of KHII. And he fought it alone. With allies, it may be a different story, as then he could focus on protecting them and keeping watch over their 3, 6, and 9, but he would still have trouble defending himself. Granted, he should be able to block the Zero Joes with his own Z-Saber ripoffs, the CP-Blades, but like I said...Game Maker 8 was made for 2D games, it can kinda do 3D but you'd be better off with Unity for that. Apply that to Sinos.

Sinos has a weakness?

*reads on*

PERFECT [eyebrow]

You're late. I gave it away in the RP.
And I mean GAVE IT AWAY:
Sinos instinctively shivered when he heard the words "rabid met army". Too many targets... way too many targets...

(I decided to give redboldtext a break.)

"Wait... That robot didn't just say..." Tangent said to himself. He checked against the data he interfaced from the town he burned down and, indeed, before him stood Feral Man, grabbing ahold of the human. "YOU THERE!" he shouted across to the Robot Master, "YOU SAY YOU WORK FOR DR. WILY? I WOULD LIKE A WORD WITH HIM AS WELL!"

(Hey WilyII... can you locate the upgrade capsule and then retool it for Tangent / bring it to Tangent to retool it? Thanks --Suppercut)

Sinos chose a simple room for himself. "As long as it has a power outlet," he had said to the innkeeper. I have a feeling I'm going to need as much energy as I can get... He took his Uni-Plug out, configured it for the room's outlet, and plugged himself in. With that, he shut down his muscular systems and minimized his processor usage, effectively going to sleep.

No it's that Sinos can't take on Armies because there's too many targets.
More or less. It's basically because his entire combat design is made for one-on-one combat (i.e. vs. Tangent). It's not that he's scared of armies, he just knows how bad his ass would get kicked if he had to fight one. Especially a lot of small targets that automatically duck under moves like his Rotation, which even if he does it horizontally would totally miss a bunch of Mets.

"A plan indeed," Sinos agreed. "I can't wait to meet the Resistance!"

Tangent, who had been wandering the deserts trying to navigate to the WDS, came upon the crater Ahrzayl was in. He was satisfied to find a living being -- worthy of his time, unlike inferior technology -- and began approaching her.

(If you want a (FAIR) fight, you could say that Tangent thinks Azrial (the device thing) is inferior. His only directive is kill whatever is inferior to him.)
(And he talks in bold red text. :3 (optional I guess) )

And plus, overcoming one's weakness is usually a great way to show character development.
Well, I personally think that there is a difference between "personality weakness" (i.e. self confidence) and "battle weakness" (i.e. Chill Penguin vs Fire Wave).

by the way, check the second quote in my sig for something relevant to your hint, suppercut

(That's funny...it would sound like it would bring out Sinos's hidden "Anti-Tangent" side of him, since that's his negative side. His positive side is the SIIDRA base politeness and curiosity, his midpoint is Dr. Danow's personality...)

Sinos instinctively shivered when he heard the words "rabid met army". Too many targets... way too many targets... He took a heavy gulp of his drink, as if he could actually be affected by intoxication. He then continued to listen intently. This Wily II guy is pretty evil... I sure hope that boforte guy didn't spill to him that I beat him so badly... If Wily II was pissed at me... who knows what he could do to me?
(there's a hint at one of Sinos's weaknesses above)

"Alcohol tends to be a staple in civilizations from my universe, so... Bartender! ...Could you please tell me what alcoholic drinks do you have?"

The bartender, confused by Sinos's attempts at a polite, somewhat childlike demeanor after screaming profanity into what he assumed was a Bluetooth headset of sorts, had to process his request for a few seconds before clicking his tongue and saying, "Well... I'm not sure how hard you want your liquor, but we have some nice draft beer if you're interested."

"Sounds alright," Sinos said. He took his drink with a "thank you" and began sipping it.

(footnote: I don't know [parasitic bomb] bout drinks >.<)

"Apparently my SIIDRA model actually does have a system for processing food and drinks. It can emulate ATP action like in organisms, to an extent, in order to provide some energy. The remains are then consumed by the energy core, reduced to nothing but subatomic dust which gets vented out. But for some bullsh-- ahem. Somehow, I forgot." Sinos struggled to keep his cool after getting frustrated at... wait, I got frustrated? Why doesn't Dr. Danow answer my questions about my irritability?

"Guess I'll find out what the bar has to offer..."

(What DOES the bar have to offer? And how can Sinos find such information?)

"Well," Sinos sighed as he did a system check, "might as well ask the bartender if he has an extension cord. Or a W-tank. Hell... you know what upgrade would be great? I'm a SIIDRA unit, I'm supposed to be equipped for peacemaking, aren't there ceremonies and rituals requiring processing food or drink? ...wait, what?" Sinos started receiving a data stream from his home dimension. "...to my core? Wait, then how come I don't know that?"

"Er... Sinos? Who are you--" Borock-bot began.

Sinos suddenly continued, "Glitch, my ass. Don't you think you would [tornado fang]ing test for [parasitic bomb] like that? What other functions don't I know about, you [tornado fang]ing no-life [Top Spin]-ass..."

At this point, the whole party fell quiet and stared at Sinos acting strangely. He fell silent and slowly turned his head to them. He coughed and started talking in a much softer voice, "So, Borock-bot, are you paying for drinks?"

Pyro chirped to Kathy, "Did sine-guy say a bad word?"

"You know, Sapph's got a point," Sinos chimed in again, "If your...er... 'Sex Station' as you call it... has the equipment I'm thinking of, I should be able to locate a black hole, then apply enough force to a capsule containing the gem to send it there. Problems?"

"If all it does is create an explosion," Sinos pondered, "then what about sending it into deep space and destroying it from there? I'm assuming there's a remote detonation system that has the capabilities of setting it off."

(I guess Sinos has an anomalous materials scanner now. 8U)

(also, bit of a note which can help with commandeering Sinos but has some major spoilers: )
(click to show/hide)
(Asides from this he has lots of interest in the study of science, technology, and organisms, as it is one of his directives. To supplement this, the SIIDRA base programming gives Sinos a childlike curiosity. His other directive, representation of the home universe, is what tells him to be polite. And if he comes in contact with Tangent, something happens...)
