Huh. I do actually state why I don't like something. :3

But I digress. Know what I do like about E3?

I don't actually have to be there anymore. The internet and televised productions are so advanced now that I can get all the news I want without actually watching them.

Or I can watch the meat without listening to things like press conferences involving things that have nothing to do with me.

But most of all.

I love KOTOR. Oh by the Nine Divines, I love KOTOR.

Also.

RABBIDS~! <3 >U<

Mom, can you tell me the appeal of Rabbids? It looks so wacky during commercials... but people rave about it. Tell me moar?

Amazing how assumptions go both ways, isn't it?  XD

A lot of assumptions were made, and they just make us look like asses. XD

Incidently, I don't give a [parasitic bomb] what other people say when they complain. I might troll them, because it's fun to do so, but I honestly don't care enough to retaliate unless it's something particular. Like the Fate series.

It was deviating from the topic (Fate/Extra for more details) so naturally I revolted. That said though, my kitten has stated everything else I could really say in response to Flash.

So, I'll just shrug for now. It's a discussion thread. Opinions and discussions go hand in hand. I'll proudly state my opinions, be they right, wrong, irritating or otherwise.

And actually...

Isn't it, nowadays?

No, not really. You clearly overlooked some of the latest RPGs that honestly don't look like the traditional mold. Persona series, Star Ocean, Hexyz Force, Phantasy Star 0, Dragon Age (yes Western, but I include ALL RPGs generally as I like both types) and hell even that FFXIII just to name a few. They were all departures in their own directions that doesn't scream FFVII.

Not done yet...

I'm complaining about people's opinions, because this is a topic about celebrating E3, and all I see is "WHO CARES ABOUT THIS KIND OF GAME?" and "BOOOO SHITTY GENERIC FPS"

It's pretty much the very same thing as if I started saying "Who plays this kiddy [parasitic bomb]?" and "What, more of that game? No new stuff? Boo!" in the Nintendo conference. And I know people wouldn't like that. I'm not liking this Gamefaqs-like behaviour in the topic. That's all.

Actually no... it's LITERALLY a discussion and lounging thread. Which technically means we're on topic because we are DISCUSSING it. Huh. How about that, that sounds pretty darn logical there. Discussions aren't debates either, so opinion is prevalent here. Har-dee-har-har.

Seriously guys, let's just drop it now. There are games for everyone here and if they aren't spoken about, they'll be mentioned with much fervor in the coming days. I expressed my concerns earlier in this thread and did so without causing much fuss. Let's get back on track and just enjoy the E3ness of everything.

This, basically.

But I suppose I can agree with this. For now.

Dun dun dun...

Funnily enough, I find it the exact opposite. We've gotten good, refreshing stuff this year, quite alot of new stuff, and on the FPS table, we've got two FPSes from EA that seem to fit both the best standards: One that's got amazing graphics and features huge realistic fighting against gigantic mechs and stuff like buildings toppling... and one that's completely about over the top action and fun gore, curse words and colorful stuff happening all around. I think we've gotten some pretty DAMN GOOD stuff so far, along with the typical war games that get better and better this year. Face it, if Lost Planet wasn't being made by Capcom, you'd say it was generic all the same. =P

Anyway, isn't this a friggin' MEGAMAN board? I thought you people were used to constant sequels that didn't change a thing. =P Allow us western game lovers our own guilty pleasures.

I guess it gives a whole new generation a chance to try it.

...but I think it's gonna be radically aged nowadays, just like Perfect Dark was when it was ported to the 360.

LOL. First and foremost, I didn't even know Lost Planet was Capcom made when I first played it. My friend got it through Gamefly, I played it and knew immediately it was something different than the usual deal. I was hooked and happened to find out it's a Capcom game somewhere along the road.

Also, I'm not that big of a fan of Capcom OR Megaman (In General). I am very specific about both. I'm also one of the bigger critics towards Megaman and its community... so those statements don't apply to me. 8D

I only have love for the EXE and Legends series, I only like the X and Classic series to a degree. Classic series only has two games I truly like (2 and 6) and the X series only liking X 4, 8 and Command Missions... all of which feel different from each other by my opinion. Also, I love Axl. Everyone else hates Axl.

Let us get to the meat of the discussion though, now that we know a bit more about me. Graphics whoring has never been my thing (I say that with respect actually, as I consider myself a RPG whore). Over the top action I prefer to get my fix from Zone of the Enders... and yeah, I know. Weeaboo. Well, yeah, that's me. I hear enough cursing from dipshit teenagers who wear their pants down to their knees, so a bunch of cursing doesn't do it for me either. Though, you mentioned Mechs. I love mechs. I don't doubt that these FPSes have some good stuff in it, but it's just not me, ya know? I'm waiting to see what Nintendo has and... god forbid, Sony. Though honestly, I expected more RPG work from Microsoft than Sony... that said though, RPGs just aren't the centerfold of the picture anymore... it's all about you guys now. The new "Hardcore Gamers" of this era.

Change my name to Trol-- oh wait...

So basically... the only interesting things so far are Star Wars MMO, Sims 3 and Metal Gear. Predictable. Of course, I heard slight mention of Fable 3 but other than that... it seems like the RPG factor is low on E3 so far. Can't say I'm shocked, the market is predominantly FPSes (ugh) and Action games (not really an issue). Also, inb4 Flash, yes I like JRPGs primarily. Not limited to that though. I like Action games, platformer, puzzle and even some shooters.

But FPSes just seem like rehashes of each other these days... which isn't a good thing for the type of market that it is coupled with the inflation of FPSes in general. They need to do something more "new" and a lot of them do a good job of that. Like Lost Planet for example. Call of Duty needs to just fall off the map. It's the same old game every time with additions that are about as effective as additions in a sports game. (Sorry PB, it should be DLC by this point instead of a new game every year with virtually nothing new)

Of course, this isn't the end of E3 yet and the "worst" is more or less over hopefully.

Also, yes, I'm extreme in my opinion, but this is a bloody eff'n discussion thread, so I'ma say my thoughts and you're gonna either comment back on it or take it like a man and suck it down. Anyway, is there any links to anything Fable 3 related? Did they even show anything worth seeing? Help a brother out :3

Also, lemme know when we get some vids of Star Wars, I'm unable to watch the E3 live deal. ;_;

EDIT: Also, my kitty wants to see some stuff on Sims 3. Waiting on that too.

also Kinect as in, "connect" with people/togetherness.

looks like Microsoft sucking up to the Wii.

Hmm.

Fair enough. I still think they're appealing to Gambit too much.

482
Natal is Christmas in my language. It sounds incredibly stupid to me.

So it's Kinect as in Kinetic energy? Sounds like gimmick in my language.  8D

Of course, now I'm just being an ass.

Also, didn't answer my question. That was actually a real question >_>

483
So like... if your child or dog runs in front of the screen... it'll kill you, right?

Also, Natal sounds better. inb4 blasphemy.

I'll wait personally. While I like games for gameplay and whatever, the story is what is most important to me.

And I only play Xeno games for their story. XD Never the less, I'll take a look at Vixy's clips.

You can also play the near-entirety of MGS4 in first person. 8D

Now seriously, Final Fantasy is that ONE franchise I don't see descending from the depths of its turn-based system, much less into the most western system one can imagine.

WELL, Crystal Chronicles plays in full action RPG. Soooo... 8D

Seriously though, it's a matter of time, Flash. :3

And Crystal Defenders is another departure of the Turn-based RPG style of Final Fantasy... I think Square is stretching their legs. Chocobo Dungeon and all that... FF games, that mix it up. Maybe they'll be invading ur WRPGs.

I meant the gameplay. Elder Scrolls has pretty much a first-person action-based gameplay. I seriously doubt Square-Enix would follow that. i am not doubting any of the game's epicness or quality, simply its genre.

I've heard rumors... but I personally want to wait till I see before I get anyone else stoked about it.

Incidently, you CAN play Oblivion in 3rd Person... but now I'm just being an ass.  8D

...what? No. That can't be right. FINAL FANTASY, of all the games in the world, can't be introducing third-person action gameplay into an MMO. I refuse to believe that.

That's like saying Megaman is being given the Lifetime Achievement Award of Shooting Up.

lol, Final Fantasy can be quite epic when it wants to be. That and the online team at Square consists of actually bright and brilliant folks.

That said, I don't know to how much extent it plays like Elder Scrolls, but I do know from both leaks and images that the level up process is identical. Even the menus look like something out of Oblivion. So yeah, might not want to overlook entirely. Try out the free trial when it comes out.

I herd gameplay and "level up" style is like Oblivion/Elder Scrolls, actually.

Also... thanks Flash, now I gotta go read/watch moar about it.

Brave Fencer Musashi

-Great naming schemes, Allucaneet Kingdom? Soda Fountain? Grillin Village! [tornado fang] Yeah! Still sad that it took a while for me to get it growing up.  8D
-YOU CAN TAKE THE ABILITIES OF YOUR ENEMIES?! By stabbing them with your glowing sword? Lots of possibilities? Who can complain!  <3
- Epic battle theme with your rival! Awesome freaking frozen dragon theme! Best final level theme ever! AKA, great Action RPG soundtrack ahoy.  owo
-Side Quests that involve interesting characters and some decent rewards for a change~
-One of Square's overlooked games again... is it just me or is Square good at making one or two shots that just simply ooze more love and enjoyment than your typical FF cookie cutter~

Parasite Eve

-Most interesting female lead of her time? I think so personally. Aya is both hot, intelligent and particularly intriguing to boot.
- Primal Eyes! YES! <3
-Innovative and advanced game play style for an RPG of its time.
-SET IN NEW YORK CITY! PB, you should totally play this if you haven't~  owob
-Lots and lots of guns! Also, another example of a great game that Square made that just gets overlooked... well, until I heard about The 3rd installment. Square... restore my faith in thee!

Also, thanks Vixy~ My kitty was especially interested in the knowledge of voice acting. We're definitely gonna check that out soon.

It was part of this custom firmware business dealie. ^^;

You pressed select on the PSP menu and from there you could change the speed.

The default speed is at 222Mhz. o.o;

Oh, Oh. OK, I know where to find that. Thanks Vixy~

497
In before that old FF Tictacs thread we had.

Also no. ;^; If you raised the speed to 333Mhz, it would be a little less slow tho. :3

I couldn't find it due to laziness. Thanks mom!

Hmm, how do I adjust the speed like that anyway? Any adverse effects or what have you I should be aware of?
