You dissin' the Halo story? Heck, it manages to be deeper than Mass Effect if you go into the Forerunner and AI business. The books go very deeply into the lore, and Halo 3 already has hidden terminals which tell the story of a rogue AI's redemption. I concour that the ending of the trilogy wasn't much, but Bungie DID do one hell of a job with the overall mythos and universe.

Didn't play 3. I played Mass Effect 1 and Halo 1 & 2.

I can only go off my knowledge and frankly, Halo's story wasn't interesting. Fault me if you will, but I was not intrigued.

And as far as AI goes, Star Ocean 3 tops all. The Eternal Sphere being a vidya gaem but advancing beyond it and how far it went was epic in and of it's self, despite what the dumbass majority thinks about "jumping the shark".

Which was a stupid claim, I might add. But then, fans tend to have their heads stuck up their asses in all the worst ways.

Of course, you'll try to turn that statement on me, no doubt. XD

That's kinda why everyone will never be tired of space marine games, right? =P

I don't care for faceless space marines. 8D

Some stories do it just fine though. Mass Effect was really interesting both in gameplay and story. Halo just had decent gameplay. *shrugs*

All stories have potencial, no matter what the theme. Problem is, the usual fantasy background doesn't always pursue it into original settings, instead making us traverse old clichés over and over.

*waits days to reply*

That's not necessarily a bad thing. A lot of people like the old clichés. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. etc.

Of course, someone will always take an original approach, for better or worse. So, I don't mind that the majority stick to the material that works. It's all good.

And let the guy hate the game. =P Honestly, awesome as it may have been, it hasn't really aged well.

Nope.

You've been here long enough to know better.

Really though, it is exactly as Vixy says, probably not the best place to be if ya hate the flagship of the website. Don't see me going to Star Force oriented forums after all. :3 But yeah, I'll drop it like it's hot, now.

I've raged enough for one day.

Basically this, but apply it to Legends.

Sometimes when I lose it, yeah.  :P

If you "hate" it that much, there is a door. I can show you how to get through it.

Or maybe even shove you through it. It's your choice really.

Incidentally, you should probably care less about how other people get excited. Take it as a "Spiritual" thing, be proud in the life that still runs through what could be considered a dying fandom of a dying series.

It is this spirit that keeps it alive, so suck it up and stop being a [sonic slicer].

If any good has come of this, now we know how to get rid of a mascot.  How about starting a porn wave of that Marcus PSP kid?

Someone has to get rid of that [tornado fang]ing monstrosity of a would-be child actor.

Sony sucks enough on it's own, no need to make me feel utterly ashamed of owning anything Sony brand... let alone my PSP.

This is why I don't give Sony any of my money with my PSP... also, topic makes me lulz.

Ah yes, Hypershell continually reminds me that there is nothing wrong with fanboying all over the place.

Especially for Iris. Sweet Iris. XD

Honestly, I feel like playing Megaman X 4 all over again because of this.

Oh right, that one. I forgot about it...

APOLOGIES TO THE SHEEP GOD! *grovels*

Am I one of those individuals, Ares? D:

Herp Derp. Not entirely, but there's a long and complicated process behind all that. One that I'm not inclined to think about as I am too busy bathing in chocolate syrup. *swims around*

What, transgender? Those are the only two trans that might apply to this.

Also, nice one again.

"Transvestism (also called transvestitism) is the practice of cross-dressing, which is wearing the clothing of the opposite sex. Transvestite refers to a person who cross-dresses; however, the word often has additional connotations."

Challenging Sheep God is a bad idea.

Incidentally, both are everywhere. Ever. I blame certain individuals that made it "popular" but now I'm just being an ass.

Also, I'm tired. *sleeps*

Nothing here says that Lan's female now; he's just crossdressing a bit! ^.^

There's a type of trans that isn't operated on. >_> Words.

I actually like ZX, to me it did a lot of things right, even if there were many things done wrong. In fact, more right than wrong. Star Force is the only cancer that exists in a whole series case. >_>

That's why it's dead, hoes.

But I digress... I do hope we get this, because it might actually be a worthwhile MMO. With the debilitating flow of FFXIV's XP limitation system and the fact that almost all the MMOs of late are rehashes of old ones... I'm looking for new avenues of MMOdom.

So, crazy people making this game, please gimme a taste?

what about politics that make your head spin, like FFT?

That sums up those thoughts.

Incidently, I have played Fallout 3 and currently am introducing my Fiance to the game. I understand that it has potential, just as much as anything else really. It's a matter of how that potential is used. I tend to like how the fantasy stories are presented instead of the post-apocalyptic, that's all. *shrugs*

Dunno if it's got that name. It called itself something like "Free antivirus XP" and it just booted up automatically, closing off Avast just as it finished telling me that I had an infection. I restarted it manually, and then as soon as it turned on, it showed me Avast as completely turned off, and froze up everytime I tried to click it. I'm pityful at general know-how of these things, and last time that happened, I had to reinstall Windows. So I just turned it off manually and took it to the repair shop.

...can't wait until they tell me I lost my whole damn data again...

Malware Bytes should help with that, no need to toss your hard work and years of insanity on the net out the window. Seriously, Google the name of the evil monster that infests your computer. There are more detailed methods of removal online.

A little bit of patience saves you a lot of time and money.

Thanks for the assist, Acid.

Anyway, while the major differences are mostly of the visual kind, the basic idea is the same. While there are differences, it's still the same basic idea and a world that contains more interesting possibilities than say... Apocalyptic future place. Or rehash of WW2/Iraq war herp derp.

Oh and I ain't ragging on all Apocalyptics... I likes me some Fallout. After a while it just starts falling into semantics. It's perfectly reasonable to appreciate both forms and hold them in the same regard without getting our panties in a knot.

WHY IS NOONE INTERESTED IN AN ANIME ABOUT LELOUCH WHO DATES WOMEN?!
DATING LELOUCH IS WIN.

I don't see Lelouch.

There is no anime there about Lelouch and therefore I am not interested.

Cladun looks like INSTANT love. Definitely going to get that one. And don't even get me started on the AWESOME that is ZHP!

They should hold over until the NEXT DISGAEA that plays like DISGAEA.  8D

That said, anyone know when we're getting Cladun?

Life couldn't be better. Well, on the 31st it'll be perfect, I await my VC2 after all. PSP will finally be used again in all it's droughtful glory.

So you DO care about story and aseeing, but as long as it's the asian cliché as opposed to the western cliché (Typical JRPG setting with effeminate characters and medieval-like setting with magic 'n [parasitic bomb]), you don't really care about it, and gameplay is the least you care about, correct?

In the simplest sense, yes.

Though it should be noted I don't care for effeminate male characters all that much to be honest. In fact, I have a general disdain for the "bishie" as it were, especially the over inflation of them.

However, the longer version is necessary here.

Note you said what you said and then I counter with my TRAP CARD. You now get to listen to my lulz and lose 4000 LPs, you also lose the ability to summon level 5 monsters or hig--- ... oh right, the long version.

See... "Typical JRPG setting with effeminate characters and medieval-like setting with magic 'n [parasitic bomb]" is a cute comment because not just JRPGs do medieval-like settings with magic 'n [parasitic bomb]. INFACT, a perfect example (besides Baulder's Gate, DnD and other things I happen to like AND own) is Elder Scrolls. For the sake of modernism, I'll pick Oblivion, my personal favorite. Oblivion has... well, last I checked (approximately 55 minutes prior to this post, in fact.) is a very medieval-esque world with magic 'n [parasitic bomb]. But hey, let us get more descriptive.

I love the story of the Elder Scrolls universe. [parasitic bomb] like Daedric Lords and crazy ass lore that is both fantastic and mind boggling in it's own right. Such things are of my intrigue. So no... it isn't just the "typical JRPG setting" that I like. Yes, I DO like that, but that doesn't eliminate all other options. Elder Scrolls, Baulder's Gate, DnD and Warhammer are examples of things that intrigue me in the highest caliber.

But hey, for those of the tl;dr persuasion, we have this:
