When Hades heard about the life draining he was really glad that Sakura didn't order him to drain his life in an attempt to weaken the evil persona. Though even then it wouldn't be good to use a life drain on someone so old. With someone as young as Jenny he might have only shaved a few minutes, the old man however might have worse results.
