Quote
In the press conference, a representative from the Weekly Asahi news magazine noted that Ishihara said in his 1972 book True Sex Education that "no book of any sort could instigate children toward crime or delinquency and that even if all undesirable books were wiped off the planet, crime would still take place." When pressed about this, Ishihara responded that he was wrong at the time and the world is different now. He then characterized people who read and write the restricted material as "sad people with warped DNA."

Quote
Ishihara's writings before he became a politician have inspired a dōjinshi (self-published manga and other works) event next year. Opponents of Bill 156 contend that the content in Ishihara's novels, if made into anime or manga, would be restricted by the amendment.

This guy really just has no excuse. He's trying desperately (and failing hard,) to justify his law. Though by his OWN definition then, he himself has warped DNA. (also, notice how the comment could be particularly taken as anti-gay, considering his view of them.)

Welp, mr Shintaro Ishihara I think Buzz Lightyear said it best...
"You are a sad, strange little man. And you have my pity."

Thats the joke.

She looked more Pokemon before, TBH.
And yet, I'd rather her look like a pokemon reject than the way she currently looks.

Forum Games / Re: Why, Back In MY Day...
« on: December 18, 2010, 05:39:18 AM »
Back in my day, in the Ice Age, I walked to school in fifteen feet of snow, uphill, both ways,
My russian sophomore year Math teacher told us something similar once. With her accent.
It was hillarious.

I don't remember a time like this. I'm not sure if I should consider you a lucky sod or be glad that I was never of that level of ignorance.
I had a great childhood. 90's were great, man. Grew up on Kids WB and PS1. (and Gameboy Color)
And that was BEFORE the huge influx of anime. It was just Pokemon, and later on around the 5th grade, Yugioh.

My first game ever was Grand Tour Racing '98 for the PS1. I still play it occasionally.
In fact- imma go play it right now, brb...

I could have sworn it was one of the redesigns before they landed on the last one.

Then I suggest you read Aria if you haven't already.

It's sweeter than Yokohama imo.
Lol, ive heard the comparison. Though I cant figure why. The similarities are Sci fi mix, Scenery porn, and slice of life.
though granted, there aren't many Sci fi slice of lifes...

I might check it out eventually.

I cant get used to it. I really dislike big forehead characters. I cant explain why, but I just really don't like her current design. :P

3666
No it isn't, at least not on my pc. The only image the blog with the name poll has is the usual one of her =/
They fixed it.
Too bad.

The new hair would do her a lot of good, I think.  I didn't appreciate how they shortened it after the poll was concluded.
I would have been fine with her winning of she at least stayed with the same hair. She DID look nice. Instead, they changed it to give her a big forehead and make it worse. ugh.

Reading Yokohama Kaidashi Kikō.

Its really nice.
Finished it.
its so darn sweet.
I recommend it highly. It's only 14 volumes, and it's an easy read. It's goin' up on my list of all time favorites.

3668
Hope thats a new design their going with for her. I dont particularly like the current one at all.

You know, i always wondered what those "super hero mask white eyes" were supposed to be or how the hell they work.

Nowadays, Im guessing, in a similar way to Bat's special mask near the end of Dark Knight...

Lets just put it this way-
It's done when it's done.

I like that diagram of sorts on the right side of the screen. What exactly does it show though? I can see stuff that seems like X's default stuff- his blue armor, energy balancer, the escape unit... but whats the other part with the levels? what do THOSE Icons represent?

If they file for bankruptcy just because of this, then its their own faults for relying majorly on fanservice.

Don't be so sure the next party wont keep it. We've already seen that it passed with no problem whatsoever, so it wouldn't surprise me if it sticks around for a long time. At least until some new manga or anime rises that challenges the vagueness of the law with material that would make actually DEFINING the law necessary. Unless some party uses "repealing the law" as a campaign point. (though it could be unlikely, its doable, under the "Its the parents job not the government's!" Idea... Which many politicians use. Hell, just look over the pond to the good ol' nameless US of A. Half the conservatives ALWAYS use some variation of that argument- usually "Its the citizens right, not the government!" )
