X / Re: Discussion about Vile
« on: May 24, 2012, 08:40:57 AM »
X8 having Vile show up and the cast not one bit shocked to see him alive was a little strange. They acted like hes been alive and running about all along.
To be fair, X seemed fairly cautious, Zero was more the one who was just like, "ah [parasitic bomb], this [tornado fang] nugget again.." And Axl doesnt even know who Vile is, so he cant really be expected to react to him unlike any other Maverick.

Same for the navigators and Signas. As far as we know, last time Vile was seen was before their time. before they were part of the Maverick Hunters.

As far as I can tell, Red was never infected, the REST of Red Alert was. And from there, Red was forced to play along or risk losing his friends forever. (not to mention when you have someone like SIGMA threatening you, with an entire compound full of mavericks under his control and influence, you begin to fear for your health.)

Doppler revived Vile.

What if Vile was in X4-6, as a Virus that stalked the player? (kinda like the Sigma/Zero virus in X5)?
what..?

We dont know if X8 was his final death, or if he even died at all. the Hard mode fight ends with the character you are playing as leaving the room and the door shutting in the sub character's face, locking them in to face Vile in a smoking and sparking Ride armor. we dont see what happens, and you cant use the sub character until Sigma grabs the character by the face, at which point the sub character arrives and breaks his hold.

We don't know what happened to Vile though.

Wasnt Grant Morrison saying a while ago that he found the concept of Batman "utterly gay"?

Its not dead. LoS is just another timeline. it's a reboot, much like Marvel's ultimates line.

I dont recall IGA's timeline being erased from existence, it's still there, and I still play them. however, the timeline was overly cluttered, and by 2035, Dracula was dead and gone forever. There was not too much room to grow, and IGA lost his touch after Aria of Sorrow. He started to move back on track with OoE, but too little too late, because by then the damage had been done. Then there was Judgement. And it bombed hard

so when they had all their branches pitch something, IGA presented
his alucard game
for the 360, a prerendered video that looked of around Wii or PS2 quality,(hard to say, real grainy) and Cox/MS pitched
their Castlevania 1 remake,

and Konami went with it, leaving IGA to try something with a small budget. (CV HD)

We'll just see where the new timeline goes, and how long it lasts. I doubt we've seen the last of the old one.

Ok, so a dutch website posted this-

(translation:)

Konami has a big E3 surprise no secret to keep.

Konami is currently working on a 3DS-exclusive Castlevania game called Castlevania: Mirror of Faith. This is evident from the appointment schedule that Konami made for this year's E3. After the highly successful Nintendo DS parts Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow, Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin and Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia Nintendo 3DS owners can therefore look forward to a brand new handheld adventure in the Castlevania series.

There is content and gameplay is nothing known of the game. The only thing currently known is that David Cox, producer of Castlevania: Lords of Shadow, and Enric Alvarez, Director / Writer of Castlevania: Lords of Shadow, the game works.

Konami, the game at E3 this year, taking place from 5 to 7 June, officially reveal.

Then Konami pretty much confirmed it by telling them to take it down.

Today we had a major scoop from the Konami front but we have just been approached by Konami who requested us to remove the information from our site. Apperently the news was not allowed to be made public yet and was supposed to be a E3 suprise. We apperently also misspelled the title of the game.

We respect this decesion and we therefore removed the article. We were not initially told that we could make this information public, which is the reason why we changed it regardless. It confirms in any case that our article is completely true.

also, someone tweeted Dave Cox about it.

Twit question
what would you say if i said mirror of faith?

Dave Cox ‏@CastlevaniaLOS

@Wizpig - I would say wrong end of the stick....misinformed. I would also say the truth is ALWAYS better than fiction! :-)

and theres the matter of the picture he changed his twitter pic to:

an anon who claims to work for konami has been hinting at a 3DS game, so this seems like it might be true.

heres his [parasitic bomb]:

he claims it will be similar to a metroidvania but without leveling up,

It will have Trevor, possibly Alucard, and Trevor will be the father of Simon Belmont.

he claims the cropped pic is of vampire Gabe standing with that wolf behind him or something.

you can also skip half the game by Firing Enigma/launching the shuttle in X5. :P

Granted that doesnt involve bosses, but a potentially worse thing, which is just pressing a button. key word is you have to BEAT High max first, and without Turtloid's weapon I think it was, you cant. so X6 requires beating 2 bosses to reach the final stages, (3 if you count the intro boss) whereas X5 just 1 intro boss and the press of a few buttons as soon as you reach the stage select.

But I digress. this is an X3 thread.

The armor's sprite looked like a mess.

I love the X3 armor's design, Its my favorite armor design along with the X4 armor. But in game, it just looks bad.

also, yeah, it's grunge guitar obsession would have been far more at home on the Genesis.

Giggle Man... hah...

Crush Man seems ok

also that first pic is cute.

It's not dead yet, but it might as well be. We all know the most likely scenario that will unfold here.

Theres like, a 90 percent chance that Capcom will just can it, and only about 10 percent, possibly less, chance- that it will get transferred over to that affiliate.

I still think it's out of spite towards Inafune. he was the only one really pushing for Mega Man games.

And Capcom is making it very hard for me to think otherwise.

I kinda liked Crisis City classic. the music was real catchy. And theres the troll signpost.

My least favorite is Planet wisp. I have no idea how that level ended up being so annoying. It was fine in Colors.

Yeah, final boss is really bad.

Other bosses were real cool though.
