But the thing is they allowed SF 4 to happen, despite SF being in the same boat. They pressured Ono to make something more profitable. What happened when SF4 finally hit the shelves? an explosion of sales.

Also, Capcom had stated that the prototype sales would determine the greenlight. So they could have been far more smart with this, since they essentially wasted money on the development and fan interaction, and didnt even bother collecting on the 2$ price tag. They easily could have released the prototype, collected some dough from it's cost, and then cancelled the project, citing a lack of sales. Instead, they just cut it off without even delivering the promised sales determining product.

I think they have an issue of pride here. They did not expect there to be such a backlash against them and they would be ridiculously embarrassed to sheepishly concede to the outrage that they simply did not expect. So they are instead ignoring it to save face, and refuse to face the situation head on and admit they made a mistake.

Now, to this end, they have simply made it worse and worse, and stuck their heads quite far up their asses enough that it should be going out the other end. By this point, I doubt anything short of L3 will EVER return to them the respect that the community lost for them. I mean, this thing ended up being covered on major gaming websites, giving legitimacy to otherwise very ignorable articles about Capcom employees either badmouthing and criticizing the company (Inafune) or the company mistreating and running them ragged to the point of collapse. (Ono) With this outrage, it becomes personal with the fans, and becomes far more widespread.

TL;DR, Capcom is butthurt that they underestimated the fan demand and pulled the plug, underestimated the expected outrage, and refuse to swallow their pride and admit they erred, choosing to instead ignore the problem like little children.

"Oh... Hello there." Flame answered back curiously to the Mettool.

"Heh, bunny ears. Cute-"

When Sakura came back, Flame saw her attire and noticed she went all out.

"Hmmmyyeeeaaah your right... Better not to take any chanceeees..."

"FAUST?"

Flame said to his intercom earpiece.

*Yes?* responded a computerized female voice.

"Teleport please? I need to pick something up. I'll be right back, Sakura. I should get my gear too."

And so he was teleported up to the space station, and was back 15 minutes later, with his usual armor, and a few extra items from his armory, such as his rarely used Large Sword, which he carried on his back, a utility belt on his waist, and a pouch harness. ((yknow, those ones that go down the front, over your shoulders?))

On his right leg he carried a holstered laser rifle.

"I think I'm ready for anything now. How about you?"

((I think we established in one of the previous busy worlds that the RP follows a different continuity to the Map of RPM, (although I still use the map for reference) I mean, the map still calls the border the "sparkvernian border" it's just the place itself thats been wiped, although for the RP's sake, im sure we can pull something off))

"Huh? Sure, go do your thing. I'll browse around. Never actually been here... We usually manufacture our own stuff up at FAUST..." Not sure if she could still hear him from upstairs, he raised his voice a bit and kept talking. "...Speaking of which, we should totally do a partnership or properties exchange! I give you some of my gear, you trade some of yours, or something like that."

He saw a few items he thought were cool, and one or two he made sure to remember to purchase.

"We can do the Lab, and then the Sparkvernian wastelands! Also gives me a good reason to head out there to that Sex Shack branch PB let me make. I haven't been to he Love Hot-El" in aaaages. Gotta see if it hasn't burned down or been shot by a laser gun yet or something. You never know with RPM..."

Flame finished his tea, paid the catgirl waitress, and walked around town. Kind of empty, but it was a nice day, so the emptiness sort of made for a quiet peaceful atmosphere. It was SUCH a nice summery day in fact, he decided to make the rare decision to leave his usual attire of black armor up at F.A.U.S.T., and go casual, with a grey T-Shirt, some dark blue denim straightleg jeans, and a pair of metallic black and silver grind shoes. (He did love his grind shoes-) As he passed by the weapons shack, he noticed Sakura Leic staring wistfully into space, seemingly having a slow day at the shop. So he decided to pay a visit to possibly the only living soul he could see around at the moment.

He walked in, a bell going ringing as he opened the door, *dingalingaling!* (gonna assume there is one)

"Hey Sakura. Slow day, I take it. Penny for your thoughts?"

That looks great. Maybe unlike his little brother, he will actually come with smiling faceplates.

other than that he will very likely come with the same exact items- that is, a multiple shot thing, and a charged shot. MAYBE an E-Can.

And im willing to bet Rush will be it's own figure. Which presents AWESOME possibilities for transforming action not unlike X and the Armored X figures. (extra limbs to make him rush jet most likely)

And so did the fans who voted for any of the other choices. But legends support was enhanced by other fans who otherwise might not have voted for him, because they were pissed about the fiasco.

Ehhh i really dont want to start this up again. Lets just settle on Legends being a hot potato and Bandai likely not wanting to deal with Capcom over it at the moment.

Dont fool yourself, it will most likely be standard Classic Rock.

Personally, I wasnt too fond of the Kotobukia Rock. He looked ok, but without some Modelling know how, (particularly painting and how to remove the parts from the casing) it looks pretty cheap and not at ALL like the advertisements.

This Rock will probably be more proportionate too, or at least fit in with the rest of the D-Arts Mega Man figures.

Also, if they are making Rock, there's a chance we could see a Bass, which would be neat.


On Volnutt, I think it needs to be accepted that he will most likely be the LAST thing they touch, if at all, considering Legends is a touchy subject with Capcom right now.

It also seems more like they want to get the main 2 series out of the way first, X, and Classic, so they could possibly, (hopefully?) work on other series later.

(and I still stand by the argument he only won the poll because of the drama with L3, and it was the fans sending a message that they wanted Legends. )

Well he didnt steal the blueprints from Light, at any rate. Do note that Wily is just as genius as Light. Remember he made Bass, who has a pretty darn advanced AI. Wily developed his own super advanced AI on the same level as X's, most likely, as part of his whole big plan to create a Super robot to defeat Rock, Bass, and help him take over the world, one more advanced than anything he had ever made before. Though I dont think any particular source covers the nitty gritty details about particular stuff like his AI.

The meaning of Reploid? No, not really.

There is no single source, game or otherwise that I know, that names Reploids as anything than what the term is used as in the X series, which is advanced Robots capable of thought on a Human level.

Even the Cyber Mission book, Rokkuman X Saibaa Misshon Kanzen Kouryaku Gaido says:

"If you exclude X and Zero as Repliroids, Sigma, whom Dr. Cain created was the first Repliroid. "

Notice it says IF you exclude X and Zero as Reploids. It does not automatically discount them as Reploids, but uses it as a point to show that Sigma was the first Robot to come out of Cain's study of X.

The word has never been defined as such, however. The term Reploid/Repliroid refers to robots created with the ability to think and reason on a Human level.

From the Zero collection timeline:

"Reploids… those are robots made a time long ago who were near human and had limitless potential… Given individuality by means of advanced technology, the Reploids worked for humans and were meant to be the greatest ally to walk alongside mankind…

And from the same site, the profiles, on X in particular:

The Legendary Blue Messiah" X
The legendary blue repliroid and ruler of Neo Arcadia who symbolizes "infinite potential" and a "purveyor of justice" for all.

The term is used to refer to any advanced Robot with Human level intelligence. It was never used to refer to replication.

Also, like ive said before, Reploids are not Replicas of X. the Black Copy Zero, is a replica. Nightmare Zero, is a Replica. (clone, to be more precise, but you know,) Copy X, is a Replica. Zero's Copy body in the Zero series, is a Replica.
