That is the problem with CGI isn't it, it simply does not look real no matter how well you try to texture it. I find it funny that classics like "The Wrath of Khan" are more believable because the models give the Enterprise and Reliant some physicality.

I know they made leveling easier than ever in this game, but still, damn.
Getting Larvesta to evolve into Volcarona will be a bit of a pain.

« on: April 09, 2011, 07:08:29 AM »Finally defeated Cynthia without using a legendary pokemon. However, its going to be a pain training all my 6 members of my pokemon to 100 even with the lucky egg.
I managed to grind many of my Pokemon to the mid to high-eighties on the Elite 4 and Alder. But it also helps that I'm trading between versions. Some of their Pokemon give me 10,000+ EXP.
I'm going through a bit of team reshuffling and breeding frenzy right now trying to get a new bunch of alternate teams set up. Just wondering though, does anyone have the Gen 4 starters (doesn't matter what evolutionary state or movesets) on hand?
I have a female Chimchar if you want it. Be sure to PM me and perhaps we can arrange something.

Thankfully this is the same professor who gave a good mark on a paper where I psychoanalyzed "Avatar" to pieces. I should be all right if I stick to the theory. 
That said, I'm satisfied with how I used Superman as the mythic hero. I wonder if I can use other superheroes as examples for other heroic archetypes. (like romantic heroes, high/low mimetic, ironic). Damn, too bad it took me this long to get into the groove. I have to write fifteen pages and I'm less than a third of the way through.

Try the Celestial Tower on Route 7, Litwick and Elygem hand out 1 Sp. Atk EV each. Or you can try Heatmor on Victory Road (on the outside patches), which give 2 but they run from Lv. 37-40.

« on: April 02, 2011, 06:20:43 AM »I had a really ballin' team of 50 - 52s + Reshiram for that fight and Hydreigon alone was Megaman-ing the [tornado fang] out of them. Between the most accurate Focus Blasts ever (brutalizing the Scrafty & Carracosta on my team then), Flamethrowers (Serperior), Surf (LOL Darmanitan), and Dragon Pulse for cleanup (Reshiram), the only thing without coverage was Eelektross and it pretty much just outsped me the whole way through.
For me it was like this:
Haxorus + Mold Breaker + Dragon Dance = Epic Victory!

Anyhow I found another tidbit on Newsarama. Looks like, JMS' involvement in the later parts of the Grounded were minimal. So the whole bit about the Superman Squad was Roberson's idea. Interesting... I wonder what he plans to do when moves past JMS' sentence-length plots.

« on: March 27, 2011, 11:19:45 PM »I'm kinda interested to see how he'll end this whole Krona thing. I just want a story that ends the constant EVENT-AFTER-ANOTHER thing and just gives Hal a break for a bit before he goes into more epic quests to save the universe.
That was why I liked most of Johns' earlier work. He took the time to build a supporting cast, and that is the biggest weakness of Green Lantern right now. Whatever happened to his brother Jim and the rest of the family? We got an appearance in Blackest Night eighteen years ago but that's it and I'm disappointed. The definitive moment in "Sinestro Corps" was when Hal told his family to leave Coast City in GL #25 and his response was "Hell no!" Don't get me wrong, the book is doing fine right now but I am somewhat unsatisfied that we get the New Guardians for a supporting cast but Larfreeze and Sinestro aside, I'm not warming up to them a whole lot. Plus there's the fact that Hal rejoined the USAF at the beginning of the title, he's been AWOL a lot and I don't think he has that much leeway with his commanding officer. There are so many things that Johns has forgotten to address since he introduced us to the various Corps.
Come to think about it, what happened to Hector Hammond? Did Krona just remove the entity and toss him in a ditch? What about Hal's other foes? I remember there being mention of Evil Star from Blue Lantern, Sister Mercy a while back, and then there's Sonar who we haven't seen since about #4 or #5. I thought we would have seen something with him a while back.
So much missed potential.

As I said before, I think I will pass because I'm simply not a fan of the character. A would definitely buy a new Firestorm series, but 'Stormy is too obscure a character to maintain interest for very long.

I don't know if I would ever be interested enough in "Aquaman: Rebirth" to warrant buying it. Aquaman always struck me as a blander version of Namor the Sub-Mariner though Mera was always hawt.

« on: March 22, 2011, 07:39:58 PM »Elektross has no weakness thanks to Levitate but the problem is that his main high stats are Attack and Special Attack as second highest rather than speed and plus his strongest electircal physical attack hurts him so it's hard to really exploite his good points so I'd go with Galvantula. I would teach it Thunder Bolt, Bug Buzz/Signal Beam, Energy Ball for getting the Rock Types, and Volt Switch so that way it can escape the Fire Types and damage them significantly.
I would highly suggest substituting Thunderbolt with Thunder for Galvantula if it has Compoundeyes.
