True, and they are...

Quote
Name taken from the would've-been fifth Batman movie (not counting the 40's serial-things, the 60's Adam West movie, or the Dark Knight Trilogy).

Gotham City isn't such a bad place...in the day. Come nightfall, all the criminals and bastards come out to play--"play" inevitably meaning "terrorize the innocent". Thankfully, Gotham has three sets of defenders: the police, in particular Commissioner Jim Gordon; Batman and his two wards, Nightwing and Robin; and Batwoman, with her friends Batgirl and Spoiler.

The latter two sets are both mirror matches and rivals, always trying to outdo the other. Detailing their exploits is reporter Hideo Miyazaki, brought over from the Daily Planet; unfortunately for him, he's always getting caught in between them.

* Batman: Same as always, really.

* Dick and Alec Grayson: Nightwing and Robin, respectively. They and their parents were known as the Flying Graysons until they ran afoul of mob boss Tony Zucco...

* Jim Gordon: Head of the Gotham City Police Department.

* Batwoman: Real name Alyssa Strong, she had a falling-out with her parents while in college; it's possible that she created the Batwoman persona as a means to control her own life.

* Batgirl: Barbara Gordon, niece of Jim Gordon; she pretended to be Batman's partner during a rally, but ended up siding with Batwoman instead.

* Spoiler: Stephanie Brown; her father, the Cluemaster, shipped her off to military school before she could out him as a criminal. Her mother quickly brought her back, but the damage was done. Some time later, she would join Batwoman and Batgirl.

* Hideo Miyazaki: Went Metropolis to Gotham. Wishes he'd stayed in Metropolis. Though his parents are Japanese, he only speaks English.

Oh I like em young.

... do I sound like an old man yet?

Maybe. XD

Looks really good.

Thanks. :)

Art front's a bit slow right now, so here's a photo I took with one of my sisters' cameras:

Very blurry and nasty since I didn't use a tripod, but I don't want to bother her about the camera again.

'Tis my Riku and Sora PA figures hanging out. (Fun fact: Sora is ALWAYS holding that Keyblade) I do have Kairi, but that figure's of her KH2 school uniform, and thus her being next to their KH1 selves would make no sense.

OK, so "ensemble" doesn't really mean "a group of heroes", but it was the only title to come to mind.

At center stands the Batman, being all SRS BSNS as usual. To his left (our right) are Robin, Proto, and Rock (the latter two wearing post-Gotham costumes); to his right (our left) is Superman, Superwoman (a.k.a. Roll), and Kalinka.

I've been entertaining the idea of Roll going to Metropolis while her brothers are in Gotham; somehow, she gains the ability to fly (I'd say red Kryptonite, but I dunno if it'd work on robots) and works alongside Supes. (Perhaps Wily tried taking over Metropolis?)

Showed this to Dad before scanning it; he thought Supes and Bats looked too young. (Still liked it, though) That's what happens when I prefer my men feminine. ;_;

Yeah. So... Ya know? He points something very interesting out. In that, would you do something you're ashamed of? Should you?

It wasn't that she was ashamed of what she was doing for a living--it's that the politician who said that was humiliating her for opposing the ban.

Not cool.

Cheesy title is cheesy.

Remember that horribly-scanned page in my scraps depicting Rock and Proto in "superhero" garb that isn't Spider-themed? This would be those outfits in colour.

Dangit, Rock shrunk in the wash again. >.>

(Yes, Proto's wearing purple. It was either purple and gray or something out of your early-90s nightmares.)

Anyone remember DC and Marvel's Amalgam universe? I don't, because I was too young to read the comics then.

Essentially, two superbeings who represent DC and Marvel become aware of each other, want to be top dog, have the heroes of their universes fight, other things other things other things THIS.

Darkclaw (real name Logan Wayne) stands in the blue void as he contemplates snikting you, while Sparrow sits atop his shoulders looking out of place. (I think Robin and Jubilee were the only different-gender smushings in the series)

Attempted to ink/colour this like the cover I was using for reference; might've turned out better if I used gradients. :/

I was going to post that link; guess I'm too slow. XD;

Oh, and it gets worse. Remember those books that Ishihara wrote? Well, Sankaku Complex has some details on them...

http://www.sankakucomplex.com/2010/12/17/ishihara-otaku-have-corrupt-dna/

I am hardly surprised to learn that not only does he hate women (and I was considering visiting Japan someday, too...), but his novels inspired copycat crimes. And that he doesn't really give a [parasitic bomb] about any of that.

This isn't related to Douchehara, but still terrible. Oh, and any opposition to the ban will be ignored.

I thought Japan was a democracy?..

So.. anyone got suggestions for a DECENT and not CRAPTACULAR .fl2 player? I just recently downloaded an .fl2 file so I gotta know this.  -u-'

Would this help?

Hm, that particular 'redesign' of Sephira/Aero was actually a piece of fanart by Score, a member of the Capcom Unity forums.   :)

I knew I'd seen that before; just couldn't remember the artist's name.

I blame BTAS's version of Robin (Dick Grayson) for giving me my "people who have their eyes covered or are wearing shades" fetish. Yes.

--uh, Robins. Lots of them. Turns out there were more than I thought, and a lot of them are just alternate versions of Dick and Tim.

From left to right: Dick Grayson, Jason Todd, Carrie Kelley, Tim Drake, Robert Chang, and Damian Wayne (the last two are kinda in the same space). Hanging from the ceiling is Roberta, who was the first female Robin--in the 1950s, meaning she got hit with a train full of sexism. Damn.

Robert Chang, to the best of my knowledge, was a temp. He's from "Batman: Digital Justice", which combined hand-drawn(?) art with digital renders. It came out in 1990 or so, thus all those renders look like something out of The Mind's Eye, pre-smoothed-out.

Why'd I include him? Same reason for including Roberta--for the hell of it.

Drawn mostly for those stockings. And I suppose having the Kingdom Key revert to that Soul-Eater-esque thing counts as "depowered".

Spawned from a dream (SHOCKER) about a KH OVA wherein Riku was the hero and Sora was the fellow-in-distress. And his inexplicable stockings referenced Roxas for some reason.

man, I'd like to see a KH OVA. ._.

If they file for bankruptcy just because of this, then its their own faults for relying majorly on fanservice.

And I'm sure there's lots of non-fanservicey shows whose studios will go under, too.

And I doubt that not using fanservice will be enough to appease the higher-ups whose job it'll be to ruin the reputations of broadcasters and whatnot for not complying.

Should you really be referring to us as "tits"?

I'd feel better about sharing more personal things on RPM than on another forum I'm a member of (without going into too much detail, there's another member there whom I want to punch in the face).

I'm a woman, yet I always find myself gravitating towards the men's clothes, because I cannot comfortably wear girls' clothes. At all. There is no way I could fit my ass into those jeans. DX

And I don't see any men's shirts at Wal-Mart that have insipid things like "IF YOU'RE GOOD YOU'LL GET A TREAT AND BY 'TREAT' I MEAN 'LOTS OF [tornado fang]ing'."

The rating system is another example of an attempt to do something. It's a start, though I don't think it fixes things either to be honest.

Neither does this law. Dad told me that everything it bans will just go underground, and thus nothing is fixed while new problems arise. Which is why you don't pass laws like this.

Man...I don't think I have the energy to keep arguing about this. This is just depressing as all hell.

Looks like the video games are safe since they got an CERO rating system.

*looks at quote from Dan* Way to be redundant.

Though it begs the question of why a ratings system for anime and manga wasn't proposed or set up instead. Oh wait, Ishihara's a [tornado fang]ing idiot.

If they're afraid to try and work WITH the laws set in place to help people... nothing good happens.

Problem is--though I hate to sound like a broken record--the laws are so vague and restrictive that not much can be done with them. It's just like the Hays Code and Comics Code Authority--artificial restrictions placed on a medium under which not much can be tried or done.

And I can hardly blame publishers for their concerns and fears since the punishment for not complying is having their reputations ruined by the government. (Or something like that)

(And maybe I'm just a liberal, but I don't like this "protect the children" bullshit. For all your restrictions and demands and whatnot, how are you going to prevent kids from being exposed to awful things in real life? Lock 'em up? Yeah, good luck with that...)

EDIT: I remembered something--for example, you can't try anything new in BL because BL is, AFAIK, not allowed. At all. (I know you don't care for BL, but just bear with me)

Ohhh, oooookay.. the ladies worryin' how big the hole is inbetween the legs?

Of course we'd worry. What if the fellow's cock/lady's hand doesn't fit? (Or whatever else you can fit in there)

(or maybe it's hip size I'm thinking of?)

Yeah. On the subject of SEX and SEXUALITY.
It's not a double-standard if what we're discussing can be sensibly distinguished into groups.

So did I just misinterpret everything, or did you not word things very well the first time?

996
Why's that? I said I don't generally find masturbation a pleasant thing to imagine unless it involves an especially male character.

You're all "cock yay!" and "vagina eww!" Double-standard.

And what defines "especially male"? A [ray splasher] to smite Ron Jeremy?

@Mr. Fence: I didn't mean to imply that we shouldn't have standards. I just don't think that stifling a medium like this (hell, TWO mediums) will do anything but create new problems.

Yes, I could stand for less cutesy crap. But guess what? Somebody pointed out that if such harsh and nebulous restrictions are put into place, Tokyo will get nothing BUT plotless fluffy moe [parasitic bomb] because everyone will be too afraid to do anything else.

And maybe even THAT won't be allowed. After all, rule 36.

I think the reason why they did this is because they have to protect children from harm and have to see violence and nudity in some Anime.

...

I'll just paraphrase what another fellow said on dA.

I am not saying rampant fanservice is a good thing. However, shutting children off from the outside world (in a sense) and making it illegal for them to try to see said outside world?

Bad. Very, very, very bad. Nobody who's been sheltered all their life (by parents or by media) just magically knows how to handle seeing violence, nudity/sex, and other things upon reaching legal age.

and I don't think it counts as whining when we have legitimate concerns about what this will do to Tokyo.

I'd like to think that after the distributors are dealt with, it's up to the parents to keep that material out of their kids' hands. It would be tough, but it'd be worth it...

buuuuut I'll bet that's not how it actually works either, is it?

Still, this is just horrible. At best, it'll just be 18th Amendment: The Sequel (doesn't work for [parasitic bomb], soon repealed); at worst, it'll actually work. I see lots of people and publishers moving out of Tokyo in the future.
