"...oh, what now?"

Taken in our living room, behind a brown chair and below one of our many DVD shelves, nearby the chimney where many swifts live. Oh, and sometime before my HD died horribly.

LARGE FILE IS LARGE. LIKE, BIG McLARGEHUGE LARGE.

Over a period of several days, I drew several MMRS and MLP:FiM-related things, then compiled them--stupidly, at night, meaning it's now two in the morning here. Yay, sleep deprivation! DX

Going in relative order:

* Boxed-out pic: Several MMRS/MMXRS characters (and fan-conversions, and OCs) as ponies. The doctors became birds, even though Kalinka is also a pony--a pegasus, to be exact; the Reploids became unicorns. Also, note that pony!Rock's colour keeps changing; it took a while to find a shade I was happy with.

* Pinkie Pie greets Rock. Rock would [parasitic bomb] bricks if he had the organs to.

* I'm actually not sure how large the ponies would be in relation to humans/humanoid robots, though I seriously doubt Roll would be able to ride Applejack.

* Proto would be okay with that scarf if not for, you know, the pink.

* Rock and Fluttershy; did I make her coat too dark? :/

* Proto and Rainbow Dash BFFs

* First time I drew Twilight Sparkle, I used the wrong shade of lilac for her coat. >.> Fixed in that doodle of her floating head.

* Oh Rock, no matter how close you and Fluttershy become, she has to turn back into a pony sometime. And that outfit is so many years out of date.

* I prefer `emlan's humanized ponies, but I still took a shot at humaning RD myself. Must learn how to draw winged humanoids.

* RD takes Proto to the prom, both of them wearing outfits ganked from Google Image Search. Proto likely wouldn't take one step into Hot Topic, and would just get his clothes from garage sales or somewhere equally cheap. I can't see him caring too much about his clothes that aren't his sc--wait, where's his scarf?

And yes, that IS RD's cutie mark tattooed dangerously close to her left nipple.

Those ponies on the bottom are G1 exclusives, drawn in as close to the G4 style as my own would allow. Fireball there is actually supposed to be hot pink, and is definitely a guy. Hell, all of the Mountain Boy Ponies are magnificent traps. Occupational hazard of being in a mostly-female toy line?

There, done. Now, to SLEEEEEEEEEEEeeeppppp *clunk*

No game company in their right mind would do that to a game that has actual story progression. I know Capcom is everybody's punching bag, but having that kinda doubt is downright stupid.

Correction: no company in their right mind would lock the saves of a story-based game if it failed for the first game they tried it on. If it works, then I don't think there's much to stop them from implementing it in more games. Or other companies, for that matter.

Also, in that article--someone implies that there wouldn't be any shitstorms over this issue if people had simply played the game first and found out about locked saves later. Because no one ever finds fault with something when they've already bought it.

Oh man yet another score attack arcade-ish game for GBA/DS/3DS has a non deletable save, the world is ending.

I'd like to think that people are more pissed that Capcom is willing to lock saves at all. And if this works (that is, they can ignore the complaints), who's to say they won't try this on a non-arcade/score attack game? Like MML3?

Heh. XD (I'd make a Blues pony if I knew anything about sculpting...)

No art this time, since my computer's hard drive crapped out (still spinning, so I'm praying I can get my files back somehow). New HD works fine, but the computer itself isn't in my room (Mom's not done with it), meaning no scanner or tablet. However, I can sorta still do commissions--they'll just have to be traditional, if it takes a while for things to work out.

Is anyone besides the people I've already asked interested? Because that other eBay thing I'm interested in has eleven days left, nobody at FA is interested, and my dA thread has apparently expired.

In other news, I've re-saved most of my pics, my scanner's behaving differently, and my tablet's way too goddamn sensitive. >.>

Just two more comms, guys; then I can hopefully grab Reimi. ;_;

You can't reset the game/start it over. So if, say, things aren't doing so well and you have no way of making them better, you're hosed. Now who's to say that there won't be tons of used RE:TM copies stuck at points of no return? (I may also be assuming incorrectly here)

Nasty thought: Locked saves plus unwinnable situations (either bug- or design-induced) equals shitstorm of massive proportions. Unless Capcom is smart/nice enough to offer patches (somehow. Admittedly not sure if the 3DS can do patches).

I'm thinking this all has to do with hatred of GameStop and whatever their overseas equivalents are. Couldn't Capcom and a few other companies politely request that they not take in new release trade-ins until a certain amount of time has passed, if they don't already? Which wouldn't be much fun, but at least they'd have their profits.

Gaming / Re: Capcom and permanent saves for RE:Mercs

That's bullcrap. Both the contradiction AND the locking of saves. (Next thing you know, there'll be a completely useless New Game +...)

Whatever their reason is, I wonder if they considered that, maybe, screwing your players over won't encourage them to buy the game.

So what happens when you try to move FFX-Yuna's arms by her anti-gravitational sleeves, rather than her elbows? Her arm snaps right the hell off. Mom was able to get it back on (moves a bit more easily now, even), though not before insulting her several times. :C

Earlier, I had discovered that Aerith can hold Roxas's ice cream (or at least the bootleg version), and wondered if I should photograph her offering it to Yuna upon her arrival. With that unfortunate breakage, the entire context of the pic changed.

Maybe one day I'll actually take ~butterfly-coffin's advice and put my subjects in front of some cardboard/paper. XD;

Just like to note, Dad was far more impressed with Yuna (even recognized that she was from the FF series).

I need to learn to quit trying to draw things late at night.

So here's some random ponies. Apart from Proto, X, and Ran, they're all original (I hope); picking out colour schemes and names was harder than it seemed. DX Though it's supposed to be FIM style (my own crept in), I had the G1 ponies in mind.

* Sprint, Ribbon, and Flora are guys. However, I was unaware of the furry fetlock thing before inking them...oops.

* Trinity was inspired by this grimdark Pony Sue I'd read about years ago; of course, the Sue had more goth-y colours than Trinity here.

Commissioned by *VixyNyan (who paid enough for me to get FFX-Yuna!); she and Kokoro hang out at the beach, whilst various other video game characters do various other things (mostly sitting).

I like how this turned out (and so did she). :) Though, it's obvious that I can't draw feet. >.<

For whatever reason, I think RADIX-fanon!RS-Roll might like MLP (pick a generation). It's mostly ladies, it's all very colourful, and someone went and turned her brothers into ponies so now she can cuddle them and whatnot.

Her brothers, on the other hand:

Rock: "What."

Proto: "...It's because I voiced my disinterest in this whole this, isn't it?"

Rock: "What."

Proto: "So, uh--this is temporary, right? Right?"

Rock: "WHAT."

(And yet I see Rock getting along with Fluttershy. Proto with Rainbow Dash, maybe?)

But why does a merman need...stuffs covering his upper half?

Spoiler-y reasons (thought not "because he's really a girl"; since I paired him with Riku, that'd just be a massive cop-out). This version of him's fairly shy, so maybe his world form sorta reflected that?

It's all very pink. x_x

Roll and Kairi find something weird in an old book (or maybe a textbook, but I never had one with shiny pages); they don't realize that this was mostly a comparison between their uniforms. A comparison that is badly shaded.

That symbol is a real one; it can be seen in the background of the official KH3D site. It bears a strong resemblance to the Unversed emblem--in fact, it may BE the Unversed emblem and I've simply misinterpreted it (and maybe why no one else has brought it up. Or maybe I'm not looking in the right places). Either way, the girls haven't seen it before, and it could possibly be Bad Things.

And of course, it seems my computer has stopped recognizing the SD slot already. >.>

Funtastic fact: the creators of TMNT said that female ninja turtles were "creatively bankrupt". So the challenge lies in using Sofonisba here in an interesting way, to blunt the creative bankruptness.

Sofonisba (named after a female Renaissance painter, unlike Venus; I hope I spelled her name right) is the result of an experiment--someone tried to replicate the TMNT, using near-exact circumstances. Unlike most other sentient experiments of this kind, Sofonisba didn't go coo-coo for cocoa puffs at any point--unfortunately, she had no formal combat training, and after learning of the Venus debacle, decided not to go and meet the original TMNT like she'd planned.

On the plus side, Rock and Proto had no problems with her, and offered to help her out. One naginata ("isn't it just a pike?") later, and Sofonisba was ready to start training.

...still sounds bankrupt. >.>

Like a lot of things I draw, Sofonisba originated from a dream--apparently, I was wandering around a Toys 'R Us in 1997, and saw some Rangers in Space VS. TMNT stuff on the shelves. The suit and bandanna colours all matched (at first), and since one of the Rangers was pink--yeah. (In practice, she's sorta the anti-Venus)

Garnet sits on the first step of our basement stairs, wondering why it's so hard to stand up. (Seriously, she tends to pitch over a lot, especially with her weapon)

I've got another photo of Garnet actually staring into the "void", but at the same time, it looks like she's reached critical mass.

["Anyone home?"] To answer your question, Yuffie: no.

[unrelated] Did some calculations; going solely by tens, and assuming Yuna's listing doesn't time out, it'll take 27 people asking for non-sketches in order to get all those figures, and roughly 54 people asking for sketches. So far, I've only gotten ONE offer (and we haven't confirmed anything yet).

And I think you have to pay dA to advertise.

Alright. :)

Ran this by the mods (via Acid), and it's alright: I'm doing commissions right now. Copy-pasted from dA:

Quote
Gonna try something for a short while, and hope the IRS doesn't stomp my face into the ground for it. Unsurprisingly, it's Play Arts-related; working around the house is no longer an option, so now I'll be working around dA. Yay?

The plan: There's some figures I want but can't realistically get (I think all of my paycheck that wasn't lost to taxes will go towards college); the original plan was to do what Eric did many years ago and have the client buy it/ship it directly to me, but Dad said it didn't work like that (mostly due to address issues). Mom's solution: have them pay her the amount the figure costs (since she has a PayPal account and I'm still on the fence about opening one), then she'll get it for me.

So, these figures--there's five of 'em, though I've only really got hopes for the last two. (Mostly going off of Amazon prices plus shipping)

Rinoa: $62.89
Yuna (FFX): $106 on Amazon; there's one on eBay going for $61.03, lasting for roughly 26 days
Ashe: $52.06
Zidane: $28, though that whole "free shipping" thing probably won't last long
Hope: $31.48

Given the prices, I'm willing to do multiple pictures, and accept separate buyers for one figure. I doubt I'll be able to finish multi-parters in a single day, but I WILL work on them whenever I have the chance (which should be fairly often, as I'm still unemployed...). I'm thinking the minimum amount should be $10--hope that's not unfair.

Now...even as the words "beggars can't be choosers" resonate throughout my head, there's still a few things I don't want to draw:

* Porn, or pseudo-porn. Maybe that should include fringe-fetish stuff?

* Super-fanservicey things; just not comfortable with drawing that much fanservice, to be honest.

Think it'll work?

EDIT: Well, Mom checked the copyright laws, and commissioned fanart would require paying a fee that is doubtless larger than I'll ever make out of this. So, until someone points out that it isn't the case, no fanart of any kind.

That noise you heard was my brilliant plan completely falling to pieces.

*lizsama pointed out that there's really nothing they can do to me as long as I'm only asking money for the effort and not the character content. So that restriction's lifted, at least.

ANOTHER EDIT: About prices: Maybe $5 or $10 per pic is alright? Maybe I was too vague before (though this edit is probably equally as vague).

Decided now: $5 for a sketch, $10 for any other pic. [...]

...so doing this just for some figures is probably incredibly [tornado fang]ing stupid, but I think it'd be best to just be up front about it. No one likes a liar.

["Cold Snow".] Man, that title's cheeOH CHRIST HIS FACE

Explanation: Another dream-based thing. After escaping a sideways tornado (and before the scene/story switched entirely to Serah being made a priestess or something, and the FFXIII gang sneaking in to watch), Snow was attacked by some demon-thing. Normally he'd just squish it, but unfortunately, this was a Corrupted (offshoot of the Heartless?). Result: Snow becomes an [dark hold] to everyone but Serah. Also, body horror.

Sora, Sazh, and Lightning face him down one night, after learning what they have to do to un-Corrupt him. It's not going to be easy.
