Huh. I never noticed that before. :/

Beyond the moon boots and body structure, I didn't think Mega and Astro looked that much alike (especially if this is MM1-MM2 Mega we're talking about here). Shigeto Ikehara's early mangas, on the other hand...

I've seen Wikipedia compare Megaman to Pinocchio, though (the Disney one?). Whacked.

Subject says all, really. Is there a Megaman expy that came before him (more fairly, does Megaman look like someone/thing that showed up before 1987)? Post 'em here.

I'd like to start with Krys. (He's riding the rocket horse.) Not only does he look like Megaman (well, Megaman looks like him, but Megs is better known), he looks like Megaman's original name (Rainbow Kid).

And before anyone asks, I discovered this at Bad Movies. I didn't actually watch that movie' I'd probably be insane if I did.



Please, no Astro Boy comparisons; they've been done to death.

Kujakiller's MM3 hack looks godly. I like Boltman.

Took a gander at Megaman Rocks, and while those are some nice mugshots (I have trouble spriting mugshots), I couldn't help but notice that Fireman suddenly has a less fortunate "clone". Seriously, he must get pissed on every time he goes outside.

About beta Virgo: LOL PIG. (Seriously though, it seems that she was intended to be Megagirl. Also getting a major Darkstalkers vibe from beta Corvus, for whatever reason...)

Just realized that I only have the crappy thumbnail versions of Apollon Flame, General Mustache, and RNR3 Solo; also seems like the pics of Subaru from Lunar Knights (or Bokurah no Taiyo DS...grumble) are just reused from the first game...

As for the manga--how 'bout the backs of the Chinese versions of Megamix? (Wikispace versions are too small...)

Yes, I finally found them at Inventiveflow, which also has sprite rips from MVC2. It's not exactly what I was hoping for, but it's good enough.

Found this coin bank prototype at duCharme studios (capitalization theirs). Particularly notable because it's the Ruby-Spears version of him, and it's the first sculpture of that series I've ever seen barring the figures.

Some of the things Wily tried to do to Megaman alone are pretty sadistic, like shoving a drill in his head while he was still awake to begin reprogramming him, or crushing him with that wall of spikes ("Brain Bots"). Hell, that disruptor chip was bad enough on its own.
