Well, this just put thousands of fan fic writers out of a hobby.

Are you kidding? Now 11-year-old fantwits the Net over will have CANON to back up their convoluted Lan/Subaru stories.

Ah, third-party Megaman products; where would you be without Novas Adventuras de Megaman? In short, it's a Brazilian faux-manga/comic hybrid about Roll, Megaman, X, Roll, young Brazilian homeless girls being forcibly cyborgized (Roll was one of them!), Roll, The Sinister Six (comprised of a bunch of noseless schmucks and Protoman), voodoo, Roll, rebels, Roll...but mostly about Roll. Yeah. It only lasted sixteen issues and saw a lot of retcons in its run, and its twelfth issue makes no sense when put into the context of the eleventh. Oh, and boobs.

You can read about this trainwreck [at the Mechanical Maniacs.] [Their page on NAdm] has links to ~rodrigoshin's summaries of every issue and scans (most of them in .RAR files).

Enough about that; Nastenka is an original character from NAdM. She's a robot that Kalinka built to act as a bodyguard, and ends up being X's love interest. (In a continuation of X4 that the company was planning but never got around to, she'd be a Maverick Hunter)

In MM9 (which I'm thinking of just calling "NINE" from now on, caps and all, since Capcom went and released its own MM9...), she's still Kalinka's bodyguard, but also acts like her big sister. See, before Mr. Shin summarized NAdM, all we had of it were a few scans at the Mechanical Maniacs. Gauntlet mentioned that Nastenka was Kalinka's sister; while we now know it isn't true, Kalinka did seem attached to Nastenka.

She's still bitter over Kalinka's kidnapping back in 2013, as it was her duty to protect her. Nastenka, Ringman, and Skullman are the only Cossack-bots specifically built for combat, with Nastenka being the only one without built-in weapons.

You can tell I haven't used her much. >.>

So, are his methods unorthodox as well? 8D

*teleports Megaman to another section of his stage*

Angel Warrior Comics (link goes to a review, which in turn has a link to the bastard itself) is what would happen if Gonterman made a sprite comic, minus his...distinctive style. The grammar is insulting, and the characters are little more than recolours with mild edits (one guy is just Slashman with Treble's muzzle). Oh, and that last strip before the creator says that the comics are done? Apparently, Sigma now has an elastipenis. My God.

To be fair, the guy was 17 when he ended it in March 2003, so there's always the hope that he got better. Then again...

As for the pic itself: I wanted to draw Marina (she seems to be an antihero), but also had those jagged black tendrils that appear in some of Lizsama's pictures in mind. It added up to this. (That retarded thing in the corner is the author avatar.)

There's a monochrome version in reference to one of dA's past colour schemes , but I don't think I'll post it here.

But I will attach it HERE.

If Mega.EXE isn't worthy of the Megaman name by virtue of its gameplay, then neither is Legends. They're both the black sheep in the Mega-mythos; one of them just has more adolescents.

Man, all this hate, and I just want to see the bosses. >.>

You know, your posting some RMZ manga pages reminded me of what one fellow on TV Tropes had to say about it:

Quote
[From the "So Bad It's Horrible" page] The Mega Man Zero manga is a horrible adaptation of an excellent series of games. It tries to turn the story into a comedy; it has Zero as a wuss (nicknamed -3) until he pulls off a Yami Yugi, it has a Scrappy material kid, it turns Ax Crazy Omega into a whiny combination of Cobra Commander and Megatron; Ciel is turned into a psycho; Copy X is now Ax Crazy... and much more. The worst offense is what the writers did to Harpuia. The only character the manga gets right is Fefnir.

You know, it sounds like they're trying to shoehorn a clearly separate entity into a canon it doesn't quite fit in. *cough*Ruby-Spears Megaman =/= Classic Megaman*cough* I dunno, maybe I'm just tired of "They got everything wrong, BAAAAWWW!" being applied to third party stuff (that argument only works when talking about a single continuity, I.E. a character in a comic book suddenly doing the OOC dance in that same book).

About the blue-haired chick: I'd look on the second page.

Does anyone have a copy of "The Big Shake" (RS-MM) they could scan the cover of? It seems to be the one VHS that no one has a good picture of, anywhere (they re-use the same grainy thumbnail that's the size of a gnat's 'hole). I know I asked this before, but...arg.

Remember the final episode of the Ruby Spears cartoon?

Mega Man and X met. That blew my mind as a kid.

They also did it plausibly. Let's hope OSS can find a way to do this without turning it into a complete wallbanger.

(Though, Mega X wasn't the last episode; that was Crime of the Century. /nerd)

Tiamat is unique among the eight chosen to front Wily's conquest of Benzin in that he always lived in Wily's fortress, safe from people who would only want to hurt him. His subordinates are unsure if Tiamat is simply shy, or paranoid.

His expertise is in water magic; while he cannot create it, he can pull it from the air or control water already on the ground. Tiamat prefers to crush his enemies with gigantic spheres of water; if the pressure somehow doesn't kill them, then they'll surely drown. However, Tiamat cannot stand to watch them die; most enemies were simply swept out of his domain.

The two tanks he carries are flotation devices; Tiamat enjoys swimming but dreads the prospect of drowning.

Hell, Capcom could get around to Navi-izing the older RMs they missed the first time around!

Not what I expected, but I'm glad we got SOMEthing, and that I can stop worrying about "Shin Rockman". Besides, I love crossovers. *shamelessly points at own art*
Aww, they're holding hands. *bricked*

For ~Wanda92. (I realize it isn't much of a group hug, but M. Blue struck me as the only one that'd hug him outright. Maybe the other two'll join in?)

While I was finishing this (it took me two days due to a blackout), I wondered how these three would fare in Genesis Wars (my continuation of RS-MM, the term of which I never use because I'm stupid). As long as they didn't impair the missions (and stayed out of personal fights), I don't think Mega would mind having them around. After he gets worse, they'd handle the smaller jobs until Mega advised them to just stop before the public began treating them like they did him.

When it was discovered that Guts Mueller, a knight whose desire to work alone at first seemed like a simple quirk, used magic to properly wield his three blades, he was banished without remorse. Left without a job or a home in Benzin, Guts set up camp in the woods and tried to get along as best as he could. The solitude, crappy weather, and constant animal attacks finally got to him, and Guts sought out the strongest wizard he could find in hopes of employment. That wizard's name started with a "W".

Guts fights with his regular two-handed sword (he's strong enough to wield it with one hand), a smaller sword that most other knights use, and a dagger. The latter two are levitated at all times during the fight, and he will attack with them one at a time. Should Rock or Tenor manage to break all three, Guts will rip entire chunks out of the earth to pummel them with.

While he dislikes working alone, Guts still finds interaction with others awkward due to years of solitude in Tier.

This poor man was among the few "electrical magic" users; unlike the rest, Elec Bandou could not stop his own magic from searing his arms; the damage accumulated over time, until the nerve endings were completely inert and his arms were so covered in burns and sores that they no longer looked like a humans'. Elec fled his village after the stares, mockery, and fear became too much.

He kept to himself, re-bandaging his arms when necessary, careful not to harm them or use his magic. Elec began to fear others, thinking that they only intended to bring harm to him--dread not entirely unjustified, as his magic was deadly and served little purpose other than offense. His hypochondria limited him in his activities as well.

When Wily found him, he thought he had come across a powerful ally--but Elec would have none of it, knowing that serving Wily meant using that magic. Wily assured him that if everything went well, he could find a way to heal the man's arms; in the meantime, he would train him to become immune to his own magic. After much consideration, Elec agreed to follow him.

Naturally, Siec took a "liking" to him. Elec would gladly kill him if it didn't mean further damaging his arms.

For the most part, Snake Reptis is just an ordinary dragon keeper and researcher. His magic is limited to containment; his body is frail, and he can barely fight. One would think his rather benign demeanor would offset his being under Wily's employ.

Snake once lived in Tier, close to the dragons, but the discovery of his use of magic cut his stay short. Before his departure, Snake gathered the eggs of a dragon that Tierian knights had slain, and another they had injured. He raised the hatchlings in Benzin, far away from others' prying eyes.

In time, Wily would appear before him, and offer to Snake a chance to return to Tier, pardoned of his offense, if he would assist Wily in taking control of Benzin. Hoping to condition his younger dragons to Tier in case they had to return, Snake agreed.

Snake doesn't fight Rock and Tenor directly; rather, the older dragon--now monumental in size--tries to kill them first. Snake may leave his hiding place and freeze the two in place, however.

* In MegaMagic, dragons are near the top of the Tierian food chain. Not all of them are carnivores, not all of them can fly, and few can breathe fire.

* Snake's shoulder pads were made from two already-deceased turtles. Those other bits of armour are protection against the dragons he studies, just in case he gets too close or they were feeling a bit pissy.

Why would Wily bother to include a prisoner in his band of merry men? This particular felon is The Cutter, real name Siec. Genuinely insane or just sadistic, Wily doesn't care, so long as he gets his job done.

Siec was jailed in Benzin for several murders, all committed with scissors-like blades. He was going to be executed two nights before Wily broke in and sprang him, along with every other prisoner, with the intent of making them his guards. Siec's skills stood out to Wily, and after much consideration, made him one of the main eight.

He uses levitation magic to guide his blades, but has a hard time focusing it on any other object--a relief to his captors. Unfortunately, no one told Siec that life has a value beyond simply being useful; all the people he killed had outlived their usefulness to him, so to speak. His fellow wizards, and even Wily, tread on eggshells every time they speak with him--he won't hesitate to cut "boring people" to shreds.

When asked about his disregard for life, he answered simply, "If life is so valuable, why can it be ended so easily?"

Quote
There technically nine wizards assaulting Benzin, but the twins Amphion and Zethus work so efficiently together that they count as one.

The girls, age 7, spent most of their life in foster care; in that time, they learned powerful defense magic. Their parents, accomplished wizards themselves, vanished the day they set off to halt a dark summoning. They were presumed dead along with every other wizard that accompanied them. Amphion and Zethus, fortunately or not, were too young to remember them, but it always puzzled them as to why they looked so different from their caretakers until their parents' existence was brought up.

They began to wonder why no one in their hometown stopped their parents from marching off to their doom. This confusion grew into resentment, seemingly justified by the apathy of its residents.

Wily, having heard of their shield magic, lured them away from the town and offered them to join his side. Thinking Wily to be far more competent than those that raised them, Amphion and Zethus agreed. They were given physical shields and sent off to wreac havoc.

The two are physically indistinguishable; Amphion talks far more than Zethus, while Zethus is arguably the braver of the two. They share a great number of interests and dislikes, and find finishing one another's sentences amusing. Despite their strength, Wily has taken great care to keep them far away from the others--especially Siec, who's began wondering what it'd be like to cut something down in its prime.

In battle, Amphion is the one who deflects attacks, while Zethus slices at the victim with her sharp shield. Both can block and attack with magic barriers.

What's this about "Shin Rockman"? I've never heard of it.

It's supposedly a new entry into the Megaman mythos; so far, all we've seen of it is Ghoston and Clock Genius.

I'm hoping this "Shin Rockman" isn't a retread of BN and RnR (I like those series, but enough is enough).

The only sure game we're getting this year is Megaman Rush Marine. And that could be terrible.
