I'm sure there are weirder out there, but these are the most frequent odd pairings I've seen.

Mega/Crash: Blame Hyadain. Blame him hard. (Great musician, though) Mega once put Crash and the rest of Set 2 in jail (After-MM2 fanon; don't quote me on that); the latter's in no hurry to admit his wrongdoings and/or shmooze Mega.

Proto/Metal: The only explanation I could come up with is that they're both the first creations of Light and Wily, and that Proto would have time to bond with Metal while at Skull Castle. (In NINE--yeah, I think I'll call it that from now on--Proto never bothered endearing himself to the Wily-bots)

Pharaoh/Star: Completely [tornado fang]ing random; only seen once. Which is fortunate, because Star would get frustrated with Pharaoh's Russian accent very quickly.

Proto/Shadow: I can't explain this one. I can cringe as I remember how things ended for them both in MM:GW, though. [RPM BONUS: They died. Horribly. And now they're ghosts who can't return to their families, because Rera a.k.a. Robo-God doesn't want humans seeing them.]

Metalwoman/Shadow: It's not so much the strangeness of this pairing (though it's got plenty) as to how it's handled. [Masquerade] created it, and gender-bendered X as well; the problem I have with it is when Metalwoman isn't being dead weight, she's being a [ray splasher] port (same goes for X). And Shadowman [tornado fang]ing TOWERS over her. And he's got manly muscles while she's got nothing. But I like her design. Arg.

I could always trudge through Peacekeeper to find more, but...something tells me it will only end in tears.

Thanks!

She won't be in Roll-chan Adventures anymore, sadly. So that probably means there won't be any art of her apart from this.

Agreed with Night. :)

First, why was Cardwoman removed? Second...the only thing that comes to mind is "Magewoman". And she's faceless. (I guess I could lend you one of mine...)

I'm not sure whether or not this should warrant a new thread, but I guess hoaxes count as fan projects as well; anyone know of any that weren't by RPM?

Oh, and a gameplay video of Rockman Paradise:

This was drawn earlier in the year (or even last year) and was supposed to shed some light on Gaia/Terra/Earth's origins. This is the only completed page. :/

Long story short, Gaia and many, many other robots (including Metis) were Varia miners on a planetoid called Eurasia during Earthian year 1984. Gaia's left arm was badly damaged in an accident, and the company didn't provide any medical assistance.

The Varia mines are soon invaded and ransacked by the Stardroids (presumably because the company stopped shipping them Varia); in the chaos, Sungod finds Gaia and unwillingly brings him and his friends back to his base, so that Gaia can become the final Stardroid (everyone else had been assembled at this point). This involved brainwashing him into total loyalty to Sungod.

Sorry about my bad handwriting.

Cut-off text: "I'm telling you, it wasn't my fault! Some idiot dropped a cigarette near the gas lines!"

Very quick doodle. School started today and...so far, it's not very painful. But that'll change pretty quickly.

He's a villain? I thought he was a good guy this entire time.

Dunno about his alignment, but something about him rubs me the wrong way. Must be the smirk.

I must wonder why Clockman.EXE is being flanked by Roll.EXE and Lyra Note, unless he's an ally talking about someone else's evil plans.

Also, there's the law to consider. And I'll bet the humans would freak out if they knew Megaman was capable of killing them, Wily or no.

Plus, Capcom would have to bring in a new Big Bad. I think they like Wily too much to do that.

Found lots of good Megaman stuff recently. Spoilered because there's a fuckton of it.

I'm not sure about the build of that second screenshot, but the first one was definitely an early preview.

Hey, remember those previews of Megaman 3 that called Protoman "Bruce"? 8D I dunno how far along they were, so to speak, but they might be worth scanning if anyone has 'em. I'll try to find that SF1 preview I mentioned forever ago.

yknow, Im wondering if I should post Pumpkinsareholy's "Rebirth of Amp" Megaman X comic here... it IS pretty damn long, though a spoiler tag would fix that.
mmm... should I? Its really awesome. but... Its so long..
Zip? rar? I dunno. maybe just a few of the first pages? then link to the full thing?

Is that the one at Mechadrake Assemblies? Here's the link.

Found more early Megaman art in the basement (I was looking for something else. Of course I didn't find it...grumble).

The Bombers have to be my earliest MM characters. Oh, and it turns out Wrath once went by "Flame Bomber", and I was unaware that "Plant" and "Elec" were already taken. Since there was space left over, I drew them. 'Twas at a loss as how to redesign the other three, so they're stuck with that basic armour until I think of something better. (And I've forgotten their genders, to boot. Funny, my other designs at the time weren't so asexual)

"Criminals are a superstitious, cowardly lot, so let me take them into my cave and put them in tiny shorts to fight crime!" --Linkara, on Jason Todd

This is what happens when Wily decides to go clean--he and his assistants dress up as flying rodents, and Megaman demands to know why his older brother isn't wearing pants. Wily and co. quickly go back to world domination.

* As for his two assistants--they go by Ms. K and Mr. Rozner. K was from what I think was a doujinshi titled "Dear Dr. Wily" (the site it was on is dead now), and she wasn't the only one; I wish I knew more about it. Mr. Rozner was an unused character in MM3 DOS; he was the one piloting Crorq.

* Wily isn't that ripped. It's his suit.

...doesn't anyone have ANYTHING on that doujin/whatever the hell it was?

1.) Ian James Corlett voiced both RS-Mega and Cheetor.
2.) [acid burst] yellow is not Mega's colour and he knows it.
3.) Mega is a dog person.

In other news, it's fun to [acid burst] Mega off. :D

Probably not for a while, given how long these pictures take.

And maybe I should bring up hoaxes in the Fan Projects thread first.

Well, after all those Links...Everything's been more or less said in the last pic.

Gates of the Realm: After Zellos's disappearance, it was rumoured that he knew something about "a gate to another world" and how to open it. People aren't sure if he went of his own accord or was kidnapped.

Reigns of Sorrow: Zelda XI has had those black markings on her body since infancy--the same ones that Link IX has on his back, in fact. They don't seem to be causing either of them any harm, but no Hylian has ever been born with markings like that...

Extensions of the Mad King: Zellos abruptly left for America for political reasons--in reality, he'd been captured by Agahnim, a wizard capable of mind control, for other political reasons. (In other news, Zellos has been noted for his skill with scimitars.)

True Fist of the Herd: Zelda hasn't been spending much time at Castle Hyrule; she's been traveling the world in search of new fantastic things (artifacts). During one outing, she found a strange red gem that others had claimed glowed when they drew near--there was no such reaction for her. Oh, and she won't allow others to look at her left arm for some reason.

Valley of the Flood: The Princess is at her wits' end trying to stop Ganon; she's the only one who hasn't given up and joined him, apart from "Link".

The Holy Planet: Zelda's parents named her after the Hylian princess; she and her mother were the only Americans on the trip to Zosime. She isn't very nice to Link, calling him such pleasant names as "French fry" and telling him to repeat himself many times over because of his accent. Sometime after Link leaves, she decides to explore the rest of Zosime herself.

Zelda's Legend: COPY-PASTE TIME! [Zelda is] an ordinary girl living in a secluded village, at least at the story’s beginning. She has been having dreams of a “young woman warrior battling a demon”, and when no one in her village can provide a logical explanation for them, requests to venture forth and find Farore, the so-called “Oracle of Secrets” for an answer. Just as she receives her sword, however, the village in invaded by creatures calling themselves the Twilli. Zelda soon embarks on a quest she didn’t want, becoming involved with the cold war between Hyrule and the Twilight Realm, the Triforce, and the “Great Manipulator”.

Bride of Melancholy: Zelda had been working as a librarian for a long while in order to avoid the King, but her efforts were in vain. She believes it has something to do with the Triforce of Power that he uncovered fifteen years ago. Right now, her goal is to escape the Castle, find Link if possible, and leave Hyrule.

* MM9 Sheik's attire is from Zelda's alternate attire from Wand of Gamelon (though it isn't so much "alternate" as "the animators gave her the wrong outfit for one scene".

* Antagonist Zelda is what happens when you give Ganon the Triforce of Wisdom instead.
