To be honest, I hadn't heard of that series until very recently, but I hear the whole thing is up on YouTube...

I can't seem to find that bit of info on TV Tropes anymore, but from what I remember--some gamers who owned N64s, but not PlayStations, were rather miffed that Final Fantasy VII was PS-only. So they started a rumour that FF7 was getting an N64 port, with extra characters to boot.

Maybe if this were Persona 2...

Anyway, that's more or less the only reason why this guy, Orchid Landman, was drawn. An exclusive character for a game with a nonexistent port to a system that I don't think could handle it.

Orchid here used to a dancer, but he couldn't attract crowds no matter how good he was (most of the patrons were straight males). Upon learning of AVALANCHE (or what was left of them), he quit his job and immediately joined them. To keep himself busy outside of battle, he keeps tabs on everyone's Materia.

After Aerith's death, Orchid desperately tries to learn healing magic so that the team might still have a medic, but abandons this after realizing that the others would be offended at his replacing her (even if it wasn't quite his intention).

Also took a stab at emulating the FF7 style of colouring. I think it turned out alright, all things considered.

I'd add "Somebody should try porting FF7 to the N64 just to see how it'd work", but I hear N64 emulators aren't that great. In fact, Project64 damn near crippled two of my computers.

"C'mon, kid! Smile!"

"O-okay..."

Wanted to draw Cloud being the exact opposite of emo. I hear that in FF7, he was initially rather optimistic--and that in the spinoffs, he's either ALL EMO ALL THE TIME, or not given a large enough role for his lack of emo post-AC to be noticed (by fangirls, anyway).

The reason for this is a non-reason: Square admitted that they ramped up Cloud's emo factor since that was how he was usually depicted in doujinshi.

THAT IS NOT HOW YOU DO CHARACTERIZATION, SQUARE.

Granted, in AC, Cloud had damn good reason to be depressed, and he eventually overcame it (though for reasons not in the initial movie). But still--that's like Capcom turning Rock into some virginal little uke because of how some(?) fangirls portray him in slash fic. Arg.

Remember when there was no "Compilation of FF7"? I do...

Happier bit: Rock and Cloud might get along, if Rock never found out about those bombings.

Oh hey, it's the X-series versions of these two for a change.

Maybe if there was more than one human in MMX, I'd have a better idea of that era's fashion. (The humans in the Iwamoto mangas dress like it's not 21XX) Tried basing it off of Star Force, but...hm.

And a sweater-thing with tights and no pants? Better hope the fashion police don't nab you, Rock. >.>

[Zan's evidence against the term "Maverick"]

Eh, to me, "Maverick" and "Irregular" are about the same term, like Hypershell pointed out. Besides, aren't all the "Irregulars" technically part of an enemy faction, like "Mavericks"?

3. NxC is about as canon as Super Smash Bros.

And here I thought NxC was too blatantly-its-own-continuity to be cited in this context.

As requested by ~MegaManModelT101--this scene, more or less. Peach and Mega walking through an Old West town (pretend those blue splodges are buildings), accompanied by Calamity Jane (as in The Legend Of).

* Peach's dress was sorta borrowed from one found through Google Image Search; Mega's outfit is a design of ~lilirulu's.

Is [conspiracists] even a word? REX-Barron corrected me. :)

King Ganondorf Dragmire of Hyrule began setting his plan into motion after banishing Link (for legitimate reasons!); eventually, his Band of Evil(TM) started looking like this.

Poor Zelda is forced to rule alongside a fellow she has no blood or marital relations to. :/

Say, which one of these baddies is not like the others?

(And it's not Proto.)

Not nearly enough zippers, belts, or pouches here, though.

'Twas an attempt at colouring the Dissidia way, but that fell through. At the very least, I'm happy with how it DID turn out.

Seems Proto got some new shades (perhaps his usual pair broke?) and lost his shirt. Rock still has a knife, and needs to do something about that pant leg.

(For some reason, were this and that other thing in scraps a game, it'd probably be one of those PC-98 games that finds new and exciting ways to shoehorn in porn. :/ Mostly of Rock getting molested by all the male members of the team.)

* Hornetwoman's honeycomb becoming a jetpack was suggested by Chron; astronaut!Galaxy, by CyberXIII.

* Poor Splashman; his female self got a kickass trident, and all he gets is a dinky trumpet. That doesn't even look like a trumpet. And he's wearing a faceplate.

* Plugwoman's prongs were meant to look like a UK plug, but...I dunno. :/

Now the question is why Dynamo is holding a condom when neither he nor Alia have the parts that would make having a condom a good thing. In my fanon, anyway.

Omria is an old character of mine; he's named after a novel (Prince Ombra by Roderick MacLeish--I misread it as "Omria") and inspired by a character design of FSc's.

The details of his story are hazy, but essentially, Omria and his friends are going through with the coming-of-age ceremony of their country/province (wherein they don suits apparently made of dead animals) when one of his friends falls into a pit of dead deer that's about to be ground up.

Oh, and it was based on a dream.

There's none of that dead-animal-suit stuff here (though the inspiration, "Mince"...holy crap), just Omria with a rather unhappy (and unusual) stag.

Omria slowly shifts from his original cute self to a vaguely smug tactician who may be slowly becoming omniscient. Such is life.

One wonders how they got Van in front of a camera at all.

The kids were meant to look a bit older, around middle school age, but I don't think it panned out. And only Nikki and Van got new clothes, unlike all four of them...arg. :/

Nikki, your arm looks weird. Best to let Grandpa check that out.

The Toon Squad has a new member in Aeristh Gainsborough, a flower girl who carries around a giant steel baton. She takes a liking to Megaman. Megaman, like with most girls (and guys) he meets in any universe, is not sure if want.

Decided to only use my Letraset markers this time, since Sharpies aren't that good at the whole "soft feel" thing

Quote
I need a name for this new universe. Something French, since they've got the French flag on their drifting island and all.

This will really only make sense to the MMXXX guys, I think--the griping, anyway. There's a lot of things about porn that tick me off, mostly the the first panel.

* I have no problem with PWP--not everything can have plot. But when the porn and plot were supposed to be more or less equal, and it turns out to be a giant lie in favour of the former, I end up raging. Bonus ouch points if the plot sucks harder than a black hole made of suck.

* Third panel: Zipper abrasions, baby.

* It seems I gave Toon Aerith her non-toon proportions. Ack.

Figured I might as well post this here (drawn for the MMXXX boards).

* Oh, Proto. Learn to function in society. :|

* That clothing sure is 90s. (I've been told that the 80s, at least, are making a comeback, but I'm not seeing it) Male!Rock probably wouldn't dress like that--it might show everyone what a skinny pseudo-uke he is. :/

* The bottom drawings all have to do with Persona RS. Amusingly, Diaz is more or less the same.

Drawn 9/19/2010.

OK, so there's this series over at Pal Comix (NSFW) centered around someone's "Rejuve" universe (the only issue I've read so far is the latest and still in-progress, "Protect the Innocent"). It's fairly interesting, and unlike some of Pal Comix's other offerings, has a plot that's more than just a flimsy "justification" for woo-hoo.

Then, out of nowhere--spanking fetish.

Agh.

I'll respect other people's fetishes (unless the person in question is just right out hateful or batshit crazy), but that bit keeps repelling me. As such, there is none of that in this pic.

Kid!Proto really wishes he could sue the people who tossed him in the rejuve chamber without asking; Kid!Rock simply tries to make the best of it. (They get better)

* The "unexpected gender flip" actually does happen in the comic.

How does one render "The Drifting Isle of Link" in French?

Something drawn out of boredom, or simply because I had some space left over on that "RSMM GB" page.

* The green fairy, Sprite, was Link's only companion for a while. The the others began showing up and taking residence on Link's isle.

* That IS Bayonetta down there. She wouldn't have been added if not for balance issues.

Quote
Finally got off my duff and drew a group shot of Samus Aran's team. (For reference, the last time I tried was in 2008--I think)

Though officially led by Samus Aran, she usually works alone, leaving her old friend Kid with second-in-command duty. The members of Elite Bounty are, from left to right:

* Dinan L., the negotiator;

* In'das Vtaie, the researcher;

* Akong Zsaz, the gentleman bounty hunter;

* Shanoa, the time-displaced vampire hunter;

* Miyu Lynx, who doubles as a member of Star Fox;

* Old Bird, among the last of the Chozo;

* Kid Dagger, owner of the Vulpae Minor;

* Rick Talis, bodyguard of In'das;

* Armstrong Houston, a "hot-shot" bounty hunter;

* Lumen Sinstro, who hails from a dark, icy planet;

* Megaman, the representative of Earth;

* Alarm, the noble Autobot;

* and Samus, the leader. Sort of.

The only two missing are Lance/Sword and Dagger (not Kid); I believe they were temp. members. Shanoa is an addition.

Also, Rick's original surname was the same as the name of a certain terrorist group. So changed it got.

Photoshop tried to be an ass and close without saving, but it was foiled by my use of the glorious Print Screen key. Huzzah!

Femme!Sora's design is a mish-mash of two of Sora's beta designs, by the way. Femme!Rock just had some stuff rearranged.

What will it take to defeat Dracula this time? The combined powers of Sailors Yoko, Shanoa, Charlotte, Maria, and...Soma.

This is why you don't gamble, Soma.

Quote
A.K.A. the result of RADIX wondering what a CV "harem" game's cast would look like. Hopefully, Konami would not be insane enough to make a porno out of a similar idea.

Since Drac is still dead, he can't be the guy running the ominous castle that sprang up out of nowhere. This castle is different in build than any other incarnation of Castlevania, and even seems to have a full-fledged town within its boundaries. Regardless of who owns it, bad things have been happening ever since it appeared, so Zaki and his band of hunters, in the absence of a Belmont, decide to destroy it themselves.

* Zaki: main character, thirteen years old. He fights with a sword that has been in the household ever since he can remember. It's possible that he and his sister Zabel are foreigners to Romania.

Viable options:

* Arnia: A young vampire from a wealthy family isolated from humans. His parents were disappointed to find that he wasn't a girl, so he dressed like his sisters in hopes of appeasing them. It didn't work, so he eventually left.

He's clueless about men, having never been around any that weren't his father.

* Gareth Garibaldi: A few centuries ago, his family's temple was overrun by monters and taken over by Legion; now, they still haven't reclaimed it. Gareth himself is trying to balance his magical and physical abilities, but isn't doing a good job of it.

* Daphne: Her weapon of choice is rather unusual, but no one's going to question how she got it. She's not an inherently violent person, but her experiences in Romania prompted her to greet Zaki the way she greeted everyone--at swordpoint. Once she realized everything was all right, though, she became much friendlier.

* Tyr: A young woman whose skills with the knife weren't enough to keep demons from capturing her. They said that, as long as she danced, she wouldn't be handed over to the vampires. Zaki and co. saved her, and she immediately took a liking to the blue-haired boy--perhaps too much so.

* Coller II: A fighter who was already on her way to the castle. Proficient in hand-to-hand combat, she doesn't need any weapons or subweapons. Though a likable individual, there's some things about her that creep everyone else out.

* Felix: He claims to be a werecat, but he has no human form. Like Coller, he forgoes weapons, but it's less "punch their lights out" and more "scratch them to pieces". He's rather loud and obnoxious, and follows many typical cat mannerisms.

Off-limits:

* Maria Renard: Hoping that this new castle will yield some clues as to Richter's whereabouts, she joins Zaki's group.

* Rusty: A whip-wielding woman who defeated a crony of Dracula's, Monte Carlo, a few years ago. Her skills rival those of the Belmonts', but she has no relation to them.

* Zabel: Zaki's older sister. She prefers using dark magic to fight, no matter what others think of her for it.

Note:

* Maria's look comes from the canceled "CV: The Bloodletting" game. At least, I hope it does--all I had to go off of were a few sprites.

* Rusty comes from the PC-98 game of the same name. Like the CV series, there's some consistency gaffs concerning her outfit--it's dark blue on the box, light blue in-game, and red in cutscenes. I went with light blue.

* Coller II--or rather, Coller2--would have been in one of the N64 CV games, had she not been cut.

You should have seen them run away from the police that day.

In all seriousness, sometimes I wonder if I accidentally made RS-Rock into a weepy, submissive bottom. He's noticeably less muscular with his armour off (which in itself isn't a bad thing, I guess, but some of the stuff I saw go on in the DBZ fandom...), he's far more openly emotional than Proto, and the way I draw him, he looks like a girl (not that regular RS-Rock looked all that masculine at times...).

On the flip side, he still confronts challenges head on, is not an emotional trainwreck (at least in the timeline in which Proto survives), doesn't need Proto around to do everything, and is most definitely not a pansy. So...balance?

Eh.

Quote
Dang Travel Trees and their occasional manifestation outside of Avalon... (which did happen in one episode, IIRC)

Anyway. Jewel Riders. Even if I only saw a few episodes of it on tape, I liked that show. Thinking about it now, RS-Rock and Tamara might hit off rather well (but not romantically, unless they want to face Proto's clinginess). After all, they're both very kind and caring individuals.

Rock would not enjoy being a (temporary) Jewel Rider, though.

* Dunno about in-show, but Tamara's toy version is wearing a damned corset. :o It only came as a shock to me since I never noticed that as a kid.
