This law doesn't mean a thing and it only applies to Tokyo.

Tell that to everyone living in Tokyo who's still reeling from this.

Quote
And also AFAIK mainly to said loli [twin slasher] etc material being aimed/sold towards minors.

Wouldn't the more sensible thing be to punish all the distributors who willingly gave that [parasitic bomb] to minors?

This was sitting on my scanner for too long.

I must've been thinking about Archie Megaman one night, because I had a dream of how it might play out. Apparently, a green-haired Rock was in a band along with Roll, Human!Sally, and Human!Amy.

Except I already at least know that the comic will closely follow the games.

The green-haired fellow became a separate character (Avant G.?); perhaps he took over the job of Megaman while Rock was attending school?

So, there was this anime/manga ban proposed by Shintaro Ishihara (who is a horrible person, but more on that later), designed to eliminate certain content (most of it sexual) from the two mediums. Real-person stuff is okay though, for some reason.

It was passed into law on December 15th. That is, today.

It won't go into effect until July 2011, but Panty and Stocking here are already counting down the days until they're either canceled or retooled. Given the nature of the show, probably the former.

Now, remember Ishihara? He hates homosexuals, foreigners, manga-ka, and anyone else who's not voting for him (I'm assuming that last one, but honestly, will anyone in the first and last group vote for him after this?) He also wrote a book containing much of the same content that his new law prohibits, up to and including gang [twin slasher] (but apparently no gay stuff because that would be, you know, gross). HE IS A DAMNED HYPOCRITE.

Seems a lot of people on Pixiv agree with the much shorter description I had for this pic over there. Two favs in 110 views already--very unusual for my art.

*sigh* 2011 is gonna suck.

["Dissidia-esque" is w]hat Sora and Rock's designs were meant to be, but for the most part I think it's hard to notice.

'Twas trying out another set of coloured pencils--they were Mom's from when we were living in California, which was forever ago. I dunno if I just used the wrong side of the paper, but they were a bit hard to use (and looked much better after I adjusted the brightness and all).

Rock's Keyblade is another form of the Ultima Weapon, and like the Ultima Weapon, has no plot significance.

The blonde girl, Sakuya, belongs to ~Sakuyamon and was added on a whim. She's Sora's sister, and I believe much of her story revolves around trying to find him and Kairi.

Hey, Mr. Fence--I, at least, am not thinking with my wang. (Properly it'd be "thinking with my vag", since I'm a woman) It's not "oh noez, no more porn!" I'm worried about, it's the stifling of creativity.

The law's wording is so vague that anything could be blocked by it, and some publishers won't know until they're humiliated publicly. (And, honestly, doesn't this seem more characteristic of China or North Korea?) I don't think even the Comics Code Authority stooped to such lows.

Oh, and Ishihara? I hear he wrote a book that contains [twin slasher] AND LOTS OF IT, and quite possibly glorifies that act of violence--two things not allowed under the ban. The man is a [tornado fang]ing hypocrite, and he most likely wrote this thing not because hentai/borderline-hentai was being distributed to minors (or some moral-panic crap like that), but because he hates otaku, homosexuals, foreigners, manga-ka, and anyone else not voting for him.

Why do people keep doing that....

I wouldn't know; PRC's commenters are mostly idiots and fanbrats, it seems. (Though, at first I thought even Vixy wasn't pleased with either the results or the apparent rigging.)

1006
It's alright, but...this reeks of "rigged".

If this trend continues, at least I'll feel better for not doing jack [parasitic bomb] in the Devroom.

1007
Winner.

The Japanese side has won out twice now. Not to insult CAP Kobun, but...anyone else get the feeling that the Western side'll be mostly ignored?

Looking back over that, this banning seems to apply only to Tokyo residents. Doesn't make things any better.

I figured that..I was just stating my disbelief. Seriously, how did this get passed?

All thanks to some shitfuck who doesn't realize that gays AREN'T "defective and pitiful".

What, what what what?

Short version: lots of anime and manga getting banned (or at the very least retooled).

Also, the guy behind this banning (or one of the guys) is a homophobe, and apparently a xenophobe as well. I want to smash his face off SO HARD.

...I take back what I said in the oekaki. 2011 is going to suck, and not just because of this ban--because such a thing was able to get passed, anywhere, in the first place.

I believe the arcade games did get an English release, albeit a very limited one.

They really messed up drawing Grey and Ashe.

Now I can't unsee it.

Vent and Aile turned out fine, though. Bad angle for Grey and Ashe, methinks.

1013
I'm torn on this. On the one hand, my artwork could make it into the book. On the other hand, it probably won't, and if it does, it'll no longer be mine.

Damn...

Poor Mega always getting to scanty costumes in any universe.

First-ever fanart for this game, which is still in the early stages? Possibly.

More of an experimental piece than anything; this has a lot to do with the trailer as described by the one fellow who saw it (mostly in that people are falling from the sky).

But what's (hooded) Xion doing there? After hearing that the Sora in the game is not the one we are familiar with, I theorized that "he's" actually Xion; KH3D may concern what she goes through in limbo, or what her dreams are like. (At least, I'm hoping that my theory has credence and that it's not just Data Sora. No KH:ReC spoilers, by the way. Please)

The BG was an attempt at noctilucent clouds; the brushes I used on the Three Amigos and Xion are by ~ShiftyJ, ~rubina119, and *Axeraider70. (And before anyone points it out, the lack of glow on Xion was deliberate)

This has to do with something said over at MMXXX. It would not surprise me if all of the comments for it over at their oekaki consist of "GAAAAAAH FURRIES".

Could Mega and Proto actually become members of the Bat-Family? Not likely. Even if so, they probably wouldn't be Robin M and Robin P (or Robin R and Robin B if you mistake them for their Classic versions).

In other words, this idea came to mind and I wanted to draw it before going to sleep.

At least Proto isn't going bare-legged this time.

Pointless comic is pointless. The bottom has smaller panels than the top because I realized halfway through that I couldn't stretch it out into two pages.

Also drawn when I wasn't at my best, so Sora's hair is very inconsistent and off-model.

A Disney-like KH OC? :o

Quote
Seems that Ran said something that set Rock off--probably about Blues moving in with her.

Also, either Rock is itty-bitty or Blues is a damned giant.

* Based KH!Ran's outfit partially on a concept for Dr. Aki Ross (Remember FF: The Spirits Within? Neither does Square) and on Rinoa Heartilly.

Most High School AUs, to the best of my knowledge, suck.

KH HSAUs, in particular, tend to focus only on the original and FF characters, and are usually just excuses to get Sora and Riku or Roxas and Axel/Lea together. I figured, if I was ever going to write one (fat chance), I'd try to do things as far away from typical KH HSAUs as possible.

* Minimal pairings. Too many HSAUs put most of the focus on romance (which would make sense, I guess, since most of these are just fantasies of heterosexual teenage girls), sometimes to the exclusion of anything else.

* All present ORGXIII members (excluding Roxas and Xion) would use their original names. Fantwits seem to forget that "Axel", "Demyx" etc. are codenames (which aren't used as such in most HSAUs, for some reason)

* Everyone stays in-character. Maybe that point should've gone first. :/

* The Disney cast doesn't get left out.

Other things:

* Lea would be that mysterious student that Sora keeps seeing in the halls, but can't be spoken to because Sora doesn't share any classes with him and can never find him before or after school. Then it turns out he DOES share a class with him, but it's Music Appreciation a.k.a. Lazy Stoner Fuckhead Paradise, and so Sora was too busy regretting signing up to notice him. :/

* The Disney characters would make up most of the staff, with Mickey as principal.

* Sora comes from a large family; none of his siblings attend the same school. (I'd name names but then there'd be BBS spoilers out the wazoo)

and I disapprove of your attempt to try to TvTrope-ize the name of that beautifully overstretched (note: sarcasm) story arc for something that makes you sad and cold inside.

Ack. D: Sorry.

Using CM characters was a good thing in my book, too, but the fact that they're not the same characters that I actually give a crap about is...depressing, to say the least. (Plus the trailers give no indication that everyone's dead and it's all clones)

But, to the point, they always said the scripts were sent and approved by Capcom of Japan.

I must've forgotten that bit. Though knowing about what happens in #4 and Roll's frequent nudity and X being Pervy McPervington, I have to wonder just how closely CoJ looked at those scripts. :/ But anyway.

22XX? Timeline headaches, away! D: And I'm pretty sure that CM took place in 22XX, unless they mean the tail end of 22XX and CM was in the spring or something...

Quote
'cuz I'm not really caring about their justification for the free-for-all character fest we're getting.

Not liking the Clone Saga angle they took either, huh?

I should have colored this a long time ago.

The longer I look at KH!Blues's hair, the more he looks like Sailor Mercury. :/

Quote
So I looked at those KH renders and thought, "Maybe I can do the same thing in Photoshop."

I could not.

'tis Peach.

Quote
I wasn't entirely happy with Blues's KH design, so I tried again; this one's much better, in my opinion.

HOWEVER, since his Half-Heartless suit thing only reflects a few elements from his first design, this one'll have to be a "post-KH:VVV" thing.

Regular RS-Proto doodled in for comparison. He's not quite as muscular, armour notwithstanding.

We really should know better, especially after X Collection...

Heck, even RS-MM, I think. At least, it's not like CoJ didn't notice it. Though--I dunno, is it safe to say that Novas Adventuras de Megaman was totally isolated from CoJ?

So after reading marshmallow man's post, it seems like all those "answers" that RO came up with are now utterly pointless because it can't really share continuity with the mainlines. AAAAAAAARGH.

Not that I wasn't doubting that after the whole "timeline split" came up; I don't think Capcom would allow for those in the MM series (dunno about other franchises; I think Street Fighter has at least one).

Region has preciously little to do with it,

I hope this reply doesn't start a bitchfight, but...if you had to translate something, didn't have all the info on it, but HAD to have something there (because it's not the Internet and you can't say "I'm not entirely sure what happened there"), I'm sure there would be SOME difference...

Opinions are subjective.

Kinda pointless to be saying on the Internet, but still.

I'm just wondering if the entire current playable Classic cast being NPCs isn't overdoing it.  That Duo may well be the only player character from that era is a bit of a letdown, but I'm still interested in seeing what they do with it.

It's hardly overdoing it if it means no roving gangs of Airmen. D: I'm hoping that something interesting comes out of this, too, and that no one shows up just to hand over their data, say a few words, and then drop dead. (If "no one" turns out to be Megaman, I'd have to break something)

Been using MS Paint for often that usual because SAI expired.

Gender-bendered!Roll tries to swipe Rock's popsicle for whatever reason. Firefox's spellcheck tells me that "popsicle" should be capitalized.

'Twas using colours from the Apple IIgs colour palette.

Quote
Same colour palette as the previous pic.

Wanted to take another shot at GBing these two. They're both still flat. :/ And Rock ended up with a hair colour similar to Marluxia's...hm.

The Apple IIgs didn't have a wide range of non-light blues, which led to some problems in colouring/shading Rock's outfit. (Sure had lots of reds, though...and no purple)

Quote
Spontaneous doodles are spontaneous and have nothing to do with my visiting Fur Affinity again. No sir.

So here we have Rock as a harpy or close male equivalent, Donald as a mini-leviathan thing, and Riku as a...naga.

Funnily enough, someone tried to defend "Naga Eyes" over at its sporking, claiming that it was unlike most other vorefics which are apparently mostly "there's a dumb [classy lady], watch her get eaten!" Not a bad point, but it has a spot on TV Tropes's "So Bad It's Horrible" page, ma'am, indicating massive failure.

And for "Naga Eyes" to not suck, you'd have to strip out the OOC. And the anatomy fail. And the downer ending. And the RIKU IS A GODDAMNED NAGA FOR NO REASON THAT CAN BE EXPLAINED TO HUMANS.

Rock is cute. ._.
