More Super Mario 3DS info! RACCOON SUIT HOOOOOOOO!

(Or Tanooki. I'll take either)

Wow. This and the possible Wii 2 announcement... Nintendo is going to dominate E3 once again, that's for sure.

I got my hype already!

I hope that music is from the actual game and not simply promotional. That [parasitic bomb] is sexy.

Anyways, got the 3DS version, who else has it?

Playing it right now as a matter of fact. Wait, you have a 3DS?

Anime & Manga / Re: What Anime are you Currently Watching?
« on: April 21, 2011, 06:22:38 AM »
Watching a handful of new anime that started airing recently. Deadman Wonderland and Ao no Exorcist are shaping up to be really entertaining. Deadman's beginning felt rushed, but i'm loving the dark atmosphere that the show has.

Just watched Evangelion 2.22. Wow. That was crazy.

That one movie was better than the entirety of the series.

8632
Saw the movie before and absolutely loved it. For me personally, they're (half) forgiven for Endless Eight.

The Haruhi PS3/PSP game, set after the story of the movie in the parallel world. Looks promising.

It wasn't really a parallel world, but a time alteration if everyone was "normal" (meh i guess it's sorta similar). But yeah, not sure if i'm interested in the game.

That last video didn't look too bad IMO. Just wish that (2D) Sonic built momentum as he ran instead of going full speed in less than a second. Why is that so hard to do, I'll never understand.

I'll believe it when i see it. These rumors are way to fishy considering Nintendo's track record. They've always been known to focus more on gameplay than graphics. I'm standing at a 80% chance that it will have 360 graphics at least and slightly less powerful than [late era] PS3. I don't see the point in trying to surpass it. (I'll admit that i would still be surprised nonetheless if it had 360 graphics)

As for the HD-screen controller, the concept sounds pretty sweet to me. But that would probably increase the price to a risky amount, considering your getting a HD console as well. I'm not very good at estimation of sales/figures but i'm pretty sure that wouldn't be a smart route to take. Again, all speculation but i'm really pumped and will get it day one whether it has great horsepower or not. >_>

8636
Well that should work then.

But back to the other question: How far does the online reach?

It's completely worldwide. Street Fighter 3D for example, has this.

Never played Monster Hunter before, so i hope they do make one for 3DS soon.

Been playing Super Street Fighter IV 3D. Really fun game, and for the most part, the online fights are lag-less. It's still a shame that this is one of the few decent launch games for 3DS.

8638
So I walked around today with my 3DS on street pass.

Result?

0.

Seriously, this feature is [tornado fang]ing useless in the U.S. unless you go to geek hangouts, like conventions.

Maybe crowded places like Manhattan (especially at night) may suffice.

8640
Well, SSFIV3D came today... but no 3DS. >_> It should definitely be tomorrow for me then.

At least the 3D cover on SSFIV is pretty cool.

8641
So now that the 3DS is out in the US, who here has it?

nvm, saw the Wi-Fi list topic. My 3DS should be shipped to my house during the following week, along with Street Fighter.

Hahahahaha, holy [parasitic bomb]. There's an R4 for the 3DS out already.

So getting this.

Surprising that they made one so fast, but it may be futile either way.

Not many for me. Mainly just Need for Speed II and Sonic 3.

NFSII was a blast playing it with my bro in splitscreen, and was probably one of the best racing games i've ever played. It was especially fun recording playthroughs of your races along with its badass soundtrack. There was this one hilarious glitch, where i rammed into a van and the impact caused it to fly into the air and never came back down. I had my car parked for several seconds, wondering what the hell happened to the van. Back then we would use a single keyboard (i believe there was a joystick option as well), and race with no issues whatsoever. Controls didn't feel cramped or anything with 2 player as one might think. On top of all that, you could race with A [chameleon sting]ing UFO AND T-REX (yep, you heard right).

I also tried this fan made game long ago called Sonic Robo Blast, which was glitchy as all hell, but had a decent splitscreen multiplayer.

8645
Ah Nintendo, you sly little bastards.

Anime & Manga / Re: What Anime are you Currently Watching?

Only new show is Needless, which isn't too bad.

Yeah, that was pretty good. But i could not watch an episode without directly thinking of TTGL, though i think that was intentional. (Blade/Kamina = triangular shades, open shirt, GAR -- Eve/Yoko = busty, skimpy outfit, sidekick of sorts)

Yumekui Merry. I must say I didn't expect to find a show that strikes my fancy among the new animes.

Was watching that for a while. I had to force myself to continue through it for the most part, unfortunately. Up to episode 4, and will watch another episode to decide if i should drop it or not.

Also watching Gosick. Not too bad, but i wish they would pick up the pacing a bit.

For extra contrast.

Oh god, that's dreadful. I wonder how long rebuilding/remodeling will take on average. The US better be giving them full on support, they need ALL the help they can get.

8649
However, Kid Icarus is troublesome as of now. My fear of the controls from the video were justified with the ground missions. It handles horribly. The flying missions are pretty cool, but unless there are customizable controls of some kind, I cannot play it.

Damn, that's a shame to hear. That was my most anticipated first party 3DS title. Well, there's still plenty of time to tweak the controls and whatnot.

Yeah, I won't be able to play it either. This is what I say about dual analogs being very important in things like this. Either that, or controls like Panzer Dragoon.

The thing is, i find many people who say that the touch screen can remedy the lack of the second analog quite well, if not better. Though at the same time, i can't imagine myself playing the entire game, only to wear my wrist out using the touch screen (happened when playing PH). This is a tricky situation.

Never saw that RE4 clip before, pretty awesome. But i loved the final product anyway, so it wasn't a huge loss. Especially since they're going back to the survival horror roots with Revelations.
