I think I'm in the minority of people who did not like FLCL.

Yeah, probably. I'm not sure though, I think the reaction towards the show is kinda mixed.

Did you watch it subbed or dubbed? Because I love Haruko's seiyuu; her voice is quirky and awesome.

I'm playing Crimson Shroud, most recently. Nearly died during the battle with the Minotaur on my NG+ run. I'm tempted to equip the Falchion, as it's the most powerful sword I have, but it has the worst defense stats of all Giauque's weapons.

I may have to compensate by using Frea and her healing/enhancement abilities. I hope that'll be enough to keep Giauque alive when the heavy hitters encroach on us.

I have finals coming up this week, so I have to focus on that. But once all that is over, I'll definitely watch it!

I still have to watch Spidey 2, as well.

Should I fluff my post with filler sentences and pretentious language?

... Would you rather I type like a 10 year old, instead? And pretentious? Is that what being educated is seen as nowadays?

Come on dude. At least try.

Honestly Infinite devolved into a shootyfest shortly after you get to Fink. Couldn't glean much entertainment out of it.

Oh absolutely, Infinite's gameplay was horridly tedious. I got my hopes up from that extended demo they showed before release. However, I loved the story and listening to the Voxophone recordings.

I really liked the ending, too, though I know a lot of people don't because they found it "confusing" or something. I didn't find it too complex; at least not after watching it multiple times over.

Woah man you can't just say that its boring and leave it at that, that's not good enough. Phi is going to make you go into detail now.

I had you, specifically, go into detail because I know you often bash things you never tried for yourself. You said it yourself that you're not serious about many things you say, so saying "The Last of Us was boring" could've very well been a random statement pulled out of your ass.

I can believe him when he says Infinite was boring. I can trust his word on that.

You, on the other hand, not so much.

Phi I have never misinterpreted what you've said, rather I'm just informing how you come off to certain people. May I suggest that you try to get a little less aggravated when people call you out on things?

That's the same...

*sigh* Whatever, we can continue this in Skype.

The reason I never answered question about The Last of Us was because you asked me to keep spoiler-free when I had specifically said the thing I found boring was the story so naturally I couldn't really say much without going into detail.

Fair enough.

First of all I've never understood why people make such a big deal about the visuals, sure they look alright from a graphics stand point but who wants to look at bunch of ruined cities and a whole lot dark caves and such? I sure don't, there's nothing remotely interesting about that.

For one thing, on a technical level, The Last of Us pushes the PS3 system. In fact, my PS3, along with many others, have froze on a few occasions because it had difficulties rendering certain assets.

I can understand how you think the visuals are just "alright", especially when taking into account that PC can push out better looking games with ease, and the resolution only reaches 720p. However, for PS3 capabilities, it is quite a feat. You may not be interested in technical specs and whatnot, but that's how it is.

As for the ruined cities and all that, I actually find it very interesting and eerily beautiful. Nature has taken its course, and the greenery has "devoured" the earth, in a sense. Not to mention there's a few photo-realistic sequences here and there, which I didn't expect from PS3.

If you don't feel the same, that's fine, of course. Like I stated, everyone's entitled to their opinions.

For this game, I like to think of "There's beauty in simple things".

The gameplay is alright but its nothing special and more than that its just disappointing compared to the footage they showed off before release, in fact the AI is just so laughably bad in comparison to what they had previously shown off its quite sad to see. The game is  basically Uncharted if you took way all the good parts and left yourself with the mediocre, just a generic stealth/cover shooter that might have been considered impressive half a decade ago.

I fully agree on the gameplay. It is nothing special.

But... was the AI really that different from what they showed before release? It showed enemies looking for the source of sounds, demonstrating what you can do with bottles/bricks, and groups splitting up to look for you. All of that remained intact in the final product.

As a whole, I will agree that the AI is pretty retarded. But, honestly, I didn't really mind so much. I mean, I can't really think of ANY game that had very intelligent AI. AI has always been a constant issue in games for as long as I can remember. Personally, I don't mind those faults, as the game is still somewhat challenging, thanks to the limited ammo and supplies seen in games like the classic Resident Evil. You do really feel like you have to make every shot count; you can't just go guns blazing.

As for the stealth, I mean... what more could you want? I'd actually say the stealth is much better than it ever was in the Uncharted franchise. The way I see it, you can't really improve the stealth mechanics further than what modern shooters have already been doing. If it ain't broke, why fix it?

This isn't like the Batman Arkham games where you can sneak around and take out enemies in various unique ways. You have very limited resources and there is far less hiding places, as everything is falling apart. The stealth/cover shooting works pretty well with the setting of this game.

Ultimately the real problem I have is that at the end of the day the gameplay is used as a gating system for story progression rather than the gameplay being the defining experience, thought I might have been okay with that if the plot wasn't just a clichéd, rather dull and rather repetitive zombie movie with stellar production values. Which leaves us with generic gameplay in between segments of boring story.

I can't comment on the overall story quite yet, though I believe I'm nearing the ending. But so far, I have to say I really like the plot. It's not amazing by any means, but it's certainly not mediocre. I'm not sure what was repetitive about it. I mean, it's a story about surviving an infected outbreak so it's obvious there's going to be reoccurring dangers to circumvent. That's the underlying foundation for the story progression.

I will say this: I feel the main problem with this is that Naughty Dog marketed the gameplay as innovative and "defining", like you stated. I agree with you, the gameplay mechanics are nothing amazing. But if I forget that the gameplay was intended to be a main selling point, The Last of Us is quite enjoyable; I think it's a very solid game.

Do I agree with all the 10/10 review scores it gets? Definitely not. However, I do think it deserves a lot of the praise it gets. Not ALL of it, but I can tell ND really put in a lot of effort into this, despite its glaring shortcomings.

Also, I find the writing and expressions impeccable, much like the Uncharted series. Just the little things like Ellie's humming and mannerisms, to her naive and headstrong personality puts a smile on my face. I also quite enjoy Joel and Ellie's relationship, even if it's VERY much like DeWitt and Elizabeth's relationship (from BioShock Infinite). I suppose the relationship is a cliche within itself, but both were done very well.

It is by no means a bad game but its not nearly good enough to be worthy of the sheer amount of praise it gets.

See, was that so hard? You gave me your opinions, and I responded with some of my own. No one is getting "defensive".

I never watched much of Seinfeld, but I saw a few clips of him from the show. Good stuff.

I first saw him in Malcolm in the Middle, and he was hilarious in that; completely different in every single way from Walter White. And most importantly, he was believable in both roles.

Haha, what? I never got defensive over The Last of Us.

If I recall, I was saying, "Wow, this game looks so beautiful, can't wait to play more of it" or something like that. Then you simply responded with, "It was boring". I asked you to elaborate and you never did.

I'm actually an extraordinarily laid back person, and I can handle other people's opinions. What happened with Tron was the only time I've been pissed off, as you two consistently misinterpret my views on certain things. If no one gives me any opinions or statements to work with, there's really no point in having a conversation about it.

No.
That was no way in [tornado fang]ing hell an appropriate response to what I said.
I don't know how my original post made you feel, but yours literally made me [tornado fang]ing boil with rage. And that's something, Phi.
Yes, you addressed the part where I mentioned you overhyping it, but then you went into something that basically twists what I said into:

BOO! GET THE [tornado fang] OUT WITH THAT BREAKING BAD [parasitic bomb]! TALKING ABOUT IT A LOT IS BAD!

Which is not what I [tornado fang]ing said at all.

My point was, that you are overhyping it. BECAUSE YOU ARE. You keep saying it's OH SO AWESOME, you even said couple of posts ago that "it deserves all the praise it gets" or some [parasitic bomb].

I, however, never said anything like:

"STOP WITH BREAKING BAD TALK. GET THE [tornado fang] OUT!"

I even [tornado fang]ing mentioned... expictly, that I am not trying even to forbid you from talking or liking it. Or even expressing your love for it.
I merely compared your constant "THIS IS SO GREAT" to how anime-tards often say "SAO IS GREAT BEST ANIME EVURR".

I never meant to [tornado fang]ing insult you, but guess [tornado fang]ing what? I am insulted by what you wrote, but perhaps that's partially because it's not what I expected.

I thought that you might disagree with me, yes. I hoped for maybe a nice discussion, but NOPE. You basically [tornado fang]ing went in the most horrible direction with your reply. You see, that part with you saying you aren't overhyping it... that was basically more or less what I expected. But then you went into absolute bullshit territory.

Feel free to think of me what you will now, Phi. But your [tornado fang]ing post made me angry.

... And again, as I stated before, I don't talk about BB that often. It is nowhere "constant", as you claim. Hell, at one point I even stated that I would not talk about it often because I know it would annoy people just like how Pokemon is discussed 24/7. Again, I discuss other things far more than I ever do with BB.

In my 7+ years on this site, I've spoken about BB maybe 20 times in total. IN TOTAL. That's it. Do you know how pathetic of a number that is? Only 20 measly times I've referenced the show throughout 7 YEARS.

Because BB is incredibly popular, everyone seems to take my praise out of context and think I worship it or something.

And saying "it deserves all the praise it gets" doesn't mean I'm overhyping it. It means I respect the director and the writers for creating a great show, in a country that it filled to the brim with shitty TV shows. I can say the same thing about any franchise I like.

You don't seem to understand the definition of constant.

What the [tornado fang] are you talking about, Phi?
How does this even...
I...

I'll only address one thing in that post:
I have shitload of problems with that, and I made it clear some time ago.
Still, this is [tornado fang]ing completely irrelevant to my post, since either you missed what I tried to say completely, or I simply [tornado fang]'d up big time in explaining i. Either way, I will not continue this, since if from my from my last post you merely got out this:

Then we have nothing to talk about here.

No, I understood exactly what you were saying and gave you an appropriate response.

If you didn't understand what I was saying, that's on you.

Oh for the love o- Here we go.

Dearest, Phi.
Do you realize your constant overhyping of this show makes you look like a fanboy?
Not the good kind (???) mind you, but the worst kind.

I haven't seen this show, so I can't judge it per say, but nothing, NOTHING. And especially no tv show or whatever is perfect, nor does it deserve all of the praise it usually gets.
I mean, it's cool that you like it a lot. Whatever makes you happy, man.

But can you name me some faults about this show? As in, any real big faults?
And please don't say, "there's none", because I find that hard to believe.

You see, when someone (like you do) overhypes stuff, then it just disgusts me.
Because I am reminded of anime-tards who overhype [parasitic bomb] like Naruto or I dunno, Sword Art Online? Or a better example, MEGUKA. In fact, this last example fits perfectly with this.

And just so we are clear. I'm not forbidding you (not that I can) to express your love for the show, I would just very much like you to stop getting so defensive about it. I will probably never watch Breaking Bad at this point, because I dislike [parasitic bomb] that's overhyped and "WITHOUT ANY FAULTS OH AH". And that's not just because of you, but because of all the hype around this in general.

I guess what I'm going for here is this:

Stop overhyping it. It cannot be as good as you make it out to be, because all of your praise is probably based around the fact that BB appeals to what YOU like (correct me if I'm wrong).
Don't be like those drooling morons who overhype pieces of [parasitic bomb] like SAO or Naruto. BB might not be anime, and might even be a very competently made/written show. But it cannot be the best thing ever, it certainly can't be perfect.
So yeah, like it all you want, but don't overhype. It just makes you look like an [dark hold].

I hope I didn't come off rude in this post, and if I did, that was not my intention. I don't really want to start [parasitic bomb] with you, Phi.
So yeah.

Wait, you think I'm overhyping it? Hahahaha, do you KNOW what overhyping looks like? I never said it was perfect; nothing is. Of course it has faults. Just by being made by a human being makes it faulty.

I praise it, sure. I highly recommend and everything, but overhyping? I've talked about other things FAR more than I did with BB (Ace Attorney, Zero Escape, Sonic, Kingdom Hearts, just to name a few).

I see absolutely no harm in saying "I love [insert show here]" when this was is a MEGA MAN FANSITE. We're all here because of our appreciation for the Blue Bomber; so tell me, Tron, what makes this any different? Both are franchises. Both are forms of entertainment. Both have their own dedicated fanbases. But, God forgive me if I dare utter the words, "amazing" or "I like" when referring to Breaking Bad, or dear no.

I find it funny that you're complaining about this, something I literally don't even talk about often unless someone brings it up, when Pokemon is discussed FAR, FARRR more than any other subject on this site. Yet, no one has much of a problem with that.

"I love Ace Attorney!" Silence.

"I love watching Mega64!" Silence.

"I love Pokemon!" Silence.

"I love Breaking Bad!" GET THE [tornado fang] OUT OF HERE!

I'm not big on zombies, either. But when it's done right (TWD game), it's quite good.

High School of the Dead had potential, but they squandered it with excessive [tornado fang]ing fanservice. It's just any other ecchi, but with some zombies at the side.

Nothing deserves every single piece of praise it gets, Phi.

Agree to disagree.

However, Breaking Bad is the sole and only AMC original that deserves every bit of that praise that it gets. It has earned it.

I'm sure you've all heard me sing the same ol' tune before.
