Fan Games / Re: Untitled Mega Mania Style Fangame
« on: March 04, 2012, 04:59:10 AM »
I've updated the first post with a final full sprite sheet of Mega Man, includes more angles and poses and all the different charge shot colour frames too.
Next I'll be doing a sprite sheet of Helmetless Mega Man and then Rock. Then it'll be onto others like Proto Man, Roll, Rush, Wily etc.

I really don't get the idea of using more angles. Are we going for a RockMan 8-bit Death-Match style play, where you can shoot and jump in more than 1 direction?

Also, I don't see why you needed to include the other color swatches for the other frames. It just makes it more confusing than the sheet needs to be. :-/

This guy is hacking Zero to be fully playable in X3. Zero is now FULLY playable, much in the way he was in Xtreme 2. None of that bullshit semi-playable stuff from X3, he gets weapons, he gets hearts and subtanks, and he gets armor. (yes armor)

It is pretty much finished, and although a few touches would be welcome here and there, he has stated he will not adress them until he regains his computer with his notes and materials, which was confiscated by police due to some bullshit.

link to his project topic on X9
http://megamanx9.com/forum/index.php?/topic/2807-mega-man-x3-zero-project-complete/

And his Romhacking submission
http://www.romhacking.net/hacks/888/

Following that, he has started work on making Zero playable, period, in X2. Again with his own dialogue and his own [parasitic bomb].
http://megamanx9.com/forum/index.php?/topic/4297-mega-man-x2-wip

Sometimes I wished he had his original 3 sabre slash combo, if that's even do-able in the ROM. Looks like the sprites have already been made.
Also, when he shoots up in the air, he still looks a bit like X in the face area. But yea, it's nice that they made Zero finally more playable. :)

Maybe. Depends on if NMario is able to include an option for multiple colour schemes. Such as Classic Gameboy or Super Gameboy colours.

Nice ideas guys, remember to keep them coming, the input is welcome while I piece together everything in my head regarding story and concept. Later I'll be posting a little list of game references that I think will relate to this fangame. It'll also be ncie to have this list in one place so I can reference it easily when designing the plot and so forth.

Yea it's a possibility, just that I'm not 100% certain how I am going to tackle this though. But yea, the original plan is to have multiple color scheme option for players who want a variety. :-/

Also, I'm no C++ or C# programmer, so most of it's probably going to be done through Multimedia Fusion 2 if I am up for it. Although I original had my own ideas. But if StarsimsUniverse provides me with everything including resources of the robots/stardroids, stages, enemies, etc, than I can definitely be motivated to doing it. :)

One of the things I mentioned in my interview online is that if there's enough support from fans & motivation, I can make it work. :)

General / Re: The Live Stream Topic
« on: February 29, 2012, 06:20:52 AM »
Well, it's been a while since I broadcasted on justin.tv, or twitch.tv for the gamers section. Seems like they have done a lot of changes on how you broadcast now (from the last time I remember broadcasting there). :-/

I have just now did some random testing with the software they suggested. I tried that one called Dyyno Broadcaster. It seems to be one of the easiest ones to use by far. I've just taken advantage of their sales before it ended to bypass the live streaming limits, and I think it's going to work for what I want to use it for. I'm not sure what the original cost is, but I say it's worth it. :)

The only other one they suggest is either WireCast (which seems to be more expensive), or XSplit. I thought of XSplit, but you need to register. I don't really see the need to register another name just to broadcast something, so I just went with Dyyno. The first test was without a payment. The screen was small and there was a logo on the corner. After I paid for it, the quality looked better, and I got rid of the logo. :)

I think I should start streaming more. It's kind of fun, actually. :)

check these
Yea, basically what is shown there. It would not effect the game play at all. You will still have the GB game size settings & everything. The only difference would be choosing to have colors, or no color setting. Cosmetics really help in game development as well as its own sound tracks. Take advantage of what you can do now, and don't limit yourself too much. :)

Quite honestly, I rather want the colors that were going to be used in MegaMan Mania for the GB Advance. I suggested to him we could do a color option thing. That way players can have the option to use GBA Colors, or Super GB Colors, or Black & White GB Colors. Maybe we could work on some sort of filter system like that was used on Super Mario CrossOver 2.0 :)

Original / Can anyone explain this?
« on: February 28, 2012, 08:57:46 PM »
http://www.gamefaqs.com/gba/919406-mega-man-mania/images/screen-1

Yea it's an outdated, discontinued game. But something about this one kind of got me wondering. Did someone actually find a ROM of this game somewhere? Or is this some sort of fake, fancy recolor someone made from an old MM GB B&W game to make it look like that screenshot? The other thing that got me is, why post the entire window of Visual Boy Advance? Is that to show that someone did find the game, or what? I wonder how GFaqs passed this screen shot like that. Thought there was some sort of argument or something that screen shots from emulators weren't allowed. At least in the form like this one.

This is not about asking for the game. It is only about the particular screen shot in question. That is all.

Fan Games / Super Mario Bros. Crossover v2.0!
« on: February 10, 2012, 02:18:50 AM »
Not sure if this is the right place to post, but anyway.

The creator of Super Mario Bros. Crossover has updated his game to 2.0!
http://www.explodingrabbit.com/games/super-mario-bros-crossover

What does this have to do with MegaMan? For those unfamiliar with this game, Mega Man was a selectable character in this game. Version 2.0 now comes with a variety of new updates including new graphic styles, new characters, possible new abilities. Characters that are NOT Mario and Luigi can no longer jump on top of the enemies.

Oh hey, wasn't PW, Ace Attorney already ported to iPhone at one time?

Anyway, those screens look awesome. Those HD sprites look like the exact details that Capcom used for their usual Ace Attprney trailers. If that's the case, I wouldn't mind trying these if they came over to the US (prob. won't happen for a real long time though). Not to mention more sprites to work with wouldn't hurt as well. :)

They look pretty nice. Although some ares would need animating. But as far as the non-animated areas of the stage, you did a nice job on them. Enker's stage looks like you used same color scheme from his remixed stage from MM10. :)

Rockman Series / Re: 25th Anniversary Logo Leaked
« on: January 10, 2012, 07:35:51 PM »
Just means that so far, we can't be expecting a new hero.
15th had EXE, 20th had Shooting Star. Last we saw Rock himself, was 10th.

Yea..... Not unless K.Inafune steps back up to Capcom and present a new MegaMan hero to them for the 25th, most likely will never happen. Or unless Capcom gives him the rights back so he can work on the game under his new company. But I doubt that will happen either. :-/

Capcom isn't known for originality any more. All they do now is crappy ports & crappy games, and a few that never make it outside of Japan. So Capcom would have to redeem themselves and earn our trust back before they can think about creating a new MegaMan hero for the franchise. :P

Gaming / Re: Anyone beat Rokko Chan's challenges?
« on: January 08, 2012, 04:45:07 AM »
THIS is why we really needed a downloadable, off site version of Rokko Chan. I probably could have helped in some part, if I only knew what I was looking for. And unfortunately I couldn't even find a proper .SWF file. :-/

I guess what I'm saying is, they have done some nice work on their projects, but I think we need more original games more than hacks. Original games as in MegaPhilX's game MM Unlimited, MegaMan X Currupted, Rokko Chan, MegaMan 21XX, Mega Goat, MegaMan Dr. Wily's Return. These types of games are worthy of actually playing, rather than just a random hack of an existing rom.

I don't think anyone mentioned this yet.

This looks really cool. I can't wait to hear the music too.

IMO, RM2/MM2 hacks are so over rated & redundant. Unless new bosses are made out of old ones, it's still the same game. ;P

No offense to anyone, as that does look good. It's just my personal taste. ;)

I'm actually quite sad he didn't at least let me beta test this game. Considering I helped him through considering to develop the game, attempted to work on the game with him. But I guess he has his reasons. I look forward to this. :)

I Wonder if the SWF file can be used on the Wii?

I doubt it. I tried something similar with one of my fan projects and it just didn't work.

Maybe, just maybe it might on the new Wii-U...... Whenever it comes out. But we won't know until then.

King updated his game to version 1.04
Now you can choose english language (if you want to know plot) and change controls

Yea I noticed he added option to change to English text from before. But the change controls thing must be new. :)

I seem to recall that Rolling Ring worked on one of the gold/silver bosses of Dr Mad stage 1....... I think.
Maybe it was Rolling Ring on the silver boss, & lightning flash on the gold boss. :-/

This game reminded me this

I can see why.... The hockey robot master is basically the same. :)

Also, I just beat the game tonight. I had to restart the Dr. Mad stages again to get some E-Tanks (Had some trouble with his phases). Anyway, I can see one way how they ripped the music.

OH SHI- WIN!

Flash? Wow looks really smooth! Now all we need is an EXE version (if you ever can get the swf out that is), or even a console port. But that will never happen.

What's MMf2? I got to look that up... and awesome video by the way! That boss fight was interesting!

I hope when he says "MMF2" he means "Multimedia Fusion 2". Man I love that! I'll love it even more when Mega Man fan games are run through it!  8D

Looks like it just came out. Apparently there is word that Western users may get it sometime soon. Also, it sounds like Japan has a bug with ppl buying the full game, only to find out its the demo. Hope everthing gets settled there.
