Coincidence or homage? In both cases, we would not be surprised that in the coming days, a Final Fantasy VI 3DS be announced, including a global fleet now installed more than 15 million machines ...

No, the music is great (among my favorites actually) and the special stages were fun and challenging.
I didn't mind that you had to collect the chaos emerald for all 5 characters either, which I did.

The thing with Robot Masters still looking the same, each sprite and their different animations are split into 8x8 pixel tiles and it's a tedious work to edit every single one of those to look like a different boss character. At other times, hackers have to expand the ROM size so they can design completely different bosses, find the address location for those bosses and use those instead.
It took a few days to finish my VixyNyan character hack and even that needed a lot of polish so it wouldn't look strange or out-of-place when playing the hack. That includes any pixels that might still be kept from the original MegaMan sprite that isn't supposed to be there.
