I have a plan to clear off my DVD/Game shelf and put more toys up there. Sadly, this plan costs $300!
well, from the little ive skimmed on CD before, the worst that can happen is what, eat the wrong food and get the runs, maybe irritation for a while? (Well, ok, maybe some worse symptoms in more serious cases such as eye and skin irritations)
Thats not so bad. its just more of an inconvenience.
Well it depends on the severity of one's CD. I have a mild case, which I can keep under control by dieting/not eating certain things. Mind you, I do miss eating these certain things, like Peanut Butter & Steak Fat. Otherwise though, it could be a lot worse. Still, I wish CD on no one. When it hurts....it hurts.

SO, to get this started, with all the problems of PSN plus the soon-to-be impending lawsuits against Sony for this debacle, what do you guys and gals think is going to happen. One of my friends told me that the lawsuits coming are in the billions range, which could really hurt Sony considering that I don't think the PS3 made much of a profit for them. Plus with the NGP easily being in the $350-$400 range, I don't see that being very profitable either.

« on: May 07, 2011, 10:38:36 PM »Microsoft likely doesn't give a damn if they get themselves into trouble in their gaming division, seeings how Windows is their cash-cow ("reliability", whether in hardware or software, really isn't their strongest point). Many believe that they entered the gaming scene mainly because they thought that Sony releasing a Linux-capable gaming console would threaten them.
I agree, but if their next system has the same troubles as the original 360 release did, then people might not jump on it until their new new system comes out.

But really, I find it funny how many people complain about the 3DS pricing when we all know there's no way in hell the NGP will be any better. Well if we are to go by the rumors at this point, the two that support the theory are...
-Touch Screen built into controller
-3DS also can be used as a controller
Just going by those two alone, I think it'd be in Nintendo's best interest to make the interconnectivity between the two. I mean, if the console and the handheld were both more interconnected, it might help sales of both. Plus, as mentioned before with the Super Gameboy and the GC Adapter, Nintendo has been known to do this before and for the most part has been met with good results.
I just think it makes the most logical sense for the Wii 2 to try to cater to every fan possible, from the handheld fans who want to play their games on the big screen (and possibly record them) to the casual & new Wii crowd (as another rumor suggests WiiMotes can be used with the new system) as well as try to cater to the hardcore crowd with new StarFox, StarTropics, and F-Zero games as well more 3rd party support, like Zone of the Enders 3!

I'd really like to think that's where they are going with the Wii 2. If not having a DS/3DS slot in the system itself, than being able to stream it to the big screen.

« on: May 07, 2011, 08:13:58 AM »It seems to me that the Wii and DS are being replaced more due to demand by developers than by players. I don't think that same demand is there for PS3/360 successors, which pretty much leaves their main reason for updating as "steal Nintendo's thunder".
I think it's more in line with the typical Nintendo strategy. Whereas Sony & Microsoft have other divisions that make money for them, Nintendo just focuses on gaming alone, so when one of their systems starts to drop in sales, it's time for the next. Personally, I think Nintendo made the right call with the Wii in the first place. Now HD is much more mainstream, accessible, and possibly cheaper to develop, they can release a more powerful console for less of the cost and hopefully bring all the people they gained with the Wii over to the Nintenterprise.
Microsoft rushing out a system is pretty much what got them in trouble with the 360 and the [acid burst] poor god awful hardware it first started out with, so hopefully they are a lot more careful this time around with their next system. I think they want to do it cause Nintendo has the Nintenterprise and Sony has the NGP.
As for Sony.....I honestly don't know what's going to become of them. Due to the PSN debacle, they could have some seeeeeeerious lawsuits coming their way, and they need the NGP to actual make a profit, and quite frankly I don't see how it can. I don't see how that system is going to be under $350 at the launch date and besides the hardcore gamers & tech nerds, I don't see anyone buying it.
But we'll see at E3.
