That was essentially my point. Superman is more human than most heroes give him credit for. His humanity is what set Luthor off in Action Comics #900. As Morrison once wrote, Superman is the superhero that other superheroes look up to.

One of my personal favorite scenes was in the last episode of the first season at the Gala, when the animals are running amok, the ponies are scrambling, and the Princess just goes to Twilight Sparkle "......RUN!" That is seriously a joke/scenario my friends and I have been doing for so long now. Like Bueno said, the show is very well written, as the characters speak like normal people would.

Plus, crazy Fluttershy was hilarious!

Well, after hearing so much about it, I finally decided to give the show a look-see not too long ago. I can honestly see why people love it so much. It's very well written and the characters are well developed and diverse. They are good stories that have good morals, pretty decent character arcs, and a very good sense of humor about the whole thing.

Honestly, I'm happy cartoons like this exist. I have a 6 year old niece, and I'm very happy she has SOME quality cartoons out there like this and Avatar & Thundercats to watch. Hopefully we are seeing a new era of quality cartoons for younguns to watch and the old folk like me to appreciate.

And yes, Q as Discord was pretty much perfect. XD

The great thing about PAX East is that it's relatively cheap. I may travel there by train, but you can get from NY to Boston for $10 courtesy of Chinatown Buses. The 3 day PAX East pass is only about $45, so what you really spend on is the hotel, and PAX East usually offers good deals, plus on PAX Forums you can find people wanting to room.

I have money to spend, and the trip costs me about, on average, $500. That's with a $98 train ride and spending for the best hotel because I like taking the elevator down from my room to the convention hall. Otherwise, you can easily do this very moderately.

I'm convinced that there is no onilne because everyone would play MK64 over MKWii.

For the record, Jelly, this is why you so need to come to PAX East. There are classic gaming rooms set up just for MK64 slug fests & the Power Stone world!

Okay, for a second, pretend you have the powers of Superman. You can fly around the world in mere minutes, fly, move faster than a speeding bullet, fly, are invulernable, more powerful than a locomotive, fly and show everyone that you practically have the powers of a god. You feed off the energy of our sun, and essentailly spend most of your days helping people all over the world at any given moment. You have a home in the Arctic, you can fly to the moon and back, and have grand adventures with other beings with powers and abilites far beyond those of mortal men. You don't need money, as you don't really need anything like food, slter, clothes, or other materialistic things.

Would you have a day job? Would you deal with the everyday bullshit that the rest of us mere mortals do? The majority of people wouldn't because what would be the point. That's one of the things that actually makes Clark Kent so special. He does, because he thinks himself as a human while everyone else sees him as a god, and who thinks a god has a day job?

That is what makes his disguise work so well. Other heroes are men posing as something more. Some are gods, like Wonder Woman, and she presents herself as such. And Superman comes off similar to Diana, as a god, an alien, an otherworldly being from Krypton, and he doesn't hide his face. That's why his disguise works, because he doesn't wear a mask. The idea of him not wearing a mask is so that people trust him, and because he spends pretty much all his time saving the world and helping humanity, they do trust him.

It is the lack of a mask, the lack of mystery, the scope of his powers, and the confidence and trust of people why people don't think he is Clark Kent even though Clark looks like him, is because Clark Kent is just a man, like everyone else, whereas Superman is a god.

In Action Comics #900, Luthor obtains the powers of a God, and tries to find Superman's most painful memory and Lex is shocked when he finds out that it's the death of Pa Kent. In that moment, he finds out that Clark is Superman and he can't believe it. He always saw Superman as a god who looked down upon humanity, but comes to find out that Superman was as human as everyone else, and it absolutely infuriates Lex. He sees it as a mockery of his intelligence, as he both knows Superman and Clark, and even he could not put two and two together, because to him, like pretty much everyone else, the very idea of Clark Kent defies logic and reason.

That's why I love Superman so much. It's an idea of someone who was raised by kind, loving parents and who just tries to do the right thing with all his abilities.

So I finally got my comics today. Yeah, Bats & Wondy are definitely at the top of the list. I liked Supergirl too. Blue Beetle is interesting and I hope it keeps the spirit of the original Jaime comic. I also liked Nightwing as well.

I finally get to go to the store and pick them up today.

I had no doubt that Batman #1 was going to be awesome, cause Snyder is easily one of the best things DC has going for it right now. I was hoping Wonder Woman would be good, cause I love yelling out WONDER WOMAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN like the old TV show song!

Pipes, Piantas throwing your kart forward into either shortcuts or the water, that boot thing, launch stars, skateable koopa shells like in Mario 64... It could even be Mario using the fire flower as a fire propelling way to move the kart forward if you use the item backwards.

Not only that, why not have actual Koopa Troopas walk around the stage and if you run into them, you kick their shells forward like an item? Or hell, have item blocks around too, instead of just items. Imagine drifting close to a row of them could earn you a few coins/items.

Because Koopa Troopa is driving, I believe. They do it with Goombas though, and they'll drop mushrooms if you hit them. I'd love for the Metal Block to be an item just so we could hear the Metallic Mario theme from SM64 again.

Why'd they remove that? That was brilliant.

Also, am I the only one who'd love to see some kinda vehicle-stealing mechanic mid-track? To steal some poor NPC's wheels or propelling item, of course, and then let go when it runs out in a few seconds.

That'd be pretty cool. Hmmmm, but what would do that as a Mario Item? Maybe a pipe!

We'll never see Megaman in a Smash Bros game, will we?

Well it's still early.

I hope it's back to being the MK64 Spike Shell, which did not fly but instead went along the ground with the chance to hit everyone.

F*@#! YEAH!!!
My impression was that the glider was situational, like the propeller underwater.  Note that Daisy uses it while she has Mushrooms in her item box at 0:26.
I dunno, I think a kart with a raccoon tail to spin-attack other racers would be pretty darn awesome.  But we'll see.

I found it funny that having gone with "plumber, reptile, princess" for the video, they shafted Peach in favor of Daisy.  Maybe they're trying to tell Miyamoto something? 8D
Whatever, I'm not complaining. <3

[tornado fang] YEAH IS RIGHT! XD

And you're probably right. Hmmmm, I wonder what the Leaf does then?

o`O RACCOON TAIL?

So as I've been watching this trailer over and over again, I've been looking at the item box. Some things caught my interest..

-No CLOUD AIDS in sight thus far. Bravo, Nintendo. BRAVO!
-The Blue Shell has no wings. Have they reverted back to the MK64 Spike Shell? Oh man, do I hope so.
-Fire Flower. Fire. Flower. It kinda makes you wonder why this wasn't a weapon long ago.
-No Golden Mushroom.
-Brown Leaf. I'm guessing this is the glider option, but who knows.

Anyway, color me excited.

Well in terms of the prequels, the overuse of CG is just one of the many, many problems the films had. If the story was better, if the writing was better, if the characters were better, if the editing was better, if it was shot better, and so on, then the overuse of CG would probably not have been as big of a deal as it was.

Rise of the Planet of the Apes has a lot of CG, but it's still a very good movie.

I'm honestly surprised Secret Six lasted as long as it did. I really don't think it had many readers at all, which is a damn shame.

I love Zatanna as well, but I highly doubt it had many readers.

Yeah, but the LOTR movies are naturally FILLED with amazingly-built sceneries. WETA must've worked for years and years in order to achieve that. Some of the Minas Tirith streets were built by hand and took quite alot of time for just seconds of footage.

Oh, absolutely. That's the point. LOTR was an example of CG used well, intermixed with incredible scenery, fully constructed sets, so that it still felt real. You could really believe that you were in Middle Earth. That's the goal of movies like that, to try to take you someplace you imagine in your fantasies, to transport you to new worlds.

The prequels accomplish nothing of the sort because it's all fake. There's no substance. If you watch the behind the scenes footage, all you see is just blue screen after blue screen, and soon you look at the actual movie and see nothing but blue screen after blue screen.
