Well that's what friendships are, normally. There shouldn't be any pressure or tension or negativity. This is why making that a relationship with said friends can be dangerous, because relationships can lead to those three things. This is why the phrase "I only see you as a friend" is not always a lie. A lot of times people don't want to take the risk of ruining that pure, unbridled happiness.

Well that depends on what you expect out of said relationship. Here's the thing...Friends are friends because they are people you generally like to be around. They're there for you when you need them, and visa versa and versa visa. However, when it comes to relationships, you're expected to put the person you are dating first before anyone else. That's where it gets, to quote Run DMC, TRRRRRRICKY! Most relationships that go bad are because one person pushes the friendship a little farther than they really want to go. I'm not even talking about sex. I'm talking about "personal space." Despite people's love for one another, when you start invading someone's personal space, things can be awkward. With friends and family, there needs to be a buffer zone of sorts. Normally friends and family already give you that. When family doesn't, that's when it gets really annoying. When friends don't, friendships can end. That's why relationships are so tricky. Eventually they become both friend and family, so you've got the double whammy effect of that.

What it ultimately comes down to is comfort and how comfortable you feel being around someone and how comfortable they feel being around you.

Well that and the need for the other person to like Mango Lemonade. If they don't, well then...that's that!
