Like my Grandma used to say: Opinions are like assholes. Everyone's got one, and no one said you had to like anything that comes out 'em. So, that said, why care so much for what's basically [parasitic bomb] any way?  8D

I like my version better.  "Opinions are like PB vs. Ninja Lou.  In the end, I always win!"  8D

Seriously though, it really is just one guys opinion, and he does bring up some interesting and yet debatable points.

EDIT: Ah ha, I see it's a Darkside-related incident. Oh yeah, this'll be retconnloopholed.

Technically, it can be and possibly is.  Darkseid's Omega Effect has more powers than just death.  The way Morrison writes Darkseid too could mean something's up.

For the record, I LOVE the way Morrison writes Darkseid.

LoL, this means nothing to a MegaMan fan!  XD

This game continues to sell and sell well, despite it's somewhat mediocrity.

"9. STRONG FEMALE LEAD CHARACTER = EDGY, CLEVER AND DESIRABLE

Quote:
Well, sometimes this is the case – Jade from Beyond Good & Evil, the old Lara Croft (from circa 1996 or thereabouts) and Samus Aran from Metroid all spring to mind; even your character from Portal – sometimes stoic, always tough and entertaining. But lately, there's been a resurgence in the 'strong female lead character' category, and we get the feeling that this isn't about sexual equality or women's lib. It's about boobs and ass and forced sexual equality. It's manipulative, in fact. She might be 'one of the boys', but she's still eye-candy and catwalk-perfect.

This is your fault."

I don't entirely disagree with this sentiment, about the part of companies possibly creating strong, female leads because they know that horny nerds are going to buy it solely for the tits & ass.  The death threats to EGM about the Nude Code prank for DOA:XBV make this feeling possibly true.

"10. CASUAL GAMING"

Again, gaming is all about having fun, in my view.  Plus, I don't see how the Wii is "bad" for gaming, when all it's done is bring in a plethora of new gamers.  To quote someone on Kotaku,

Oh that's sad...wait is this in the the original meaning that Batman Beyond doesn't exist or Batman Beyond?

The original character.  The guy who trains and mentors Terry (Batman Beyond).

No, just the character in the Comics.

Level of cheese?

Cheesy acting, my young apprentice.  The type of acting that is so cheesy, it attains a level of awesomeness that nerds will praise you for.  William Shatner possesses such cheese, as does Christopher Walken, and others as well.

You know, I just realized too.  Someone else possibly died today, in terms of nerd-dom.

Entertainment / Be Seeing You...RIP Patrick McGoohan
« on: January 15, 2009, 05:42:56 AM »
Well, along with the death of Ricardo Montalban, I just found out that another one of Sci-Fi's greatest contributors, Patrick McGoohan, has passed away as well.  Man, what a tragic tragic day.

For those of you who don't know, McGoohan starred in one of the most classic, most cultish, and easily most awesome TV Miniseries ever created called The Prisoner.  I have this show on DVD, and it's easily one of my favorite shows ever.  You might not know the show, but most likely you've seen in spoofed many a time, and might not have even known it, like in The Simpsons or ReBoot!  If you are a fan of the surreal, the strange, and the awesome, I highly highly HIGHLY recommend this series to you.

"THIS IS SETI ALPHA FIVE!"

 :'(  :'(  :'(

I watched Star Trek II: The Wrath Of Khan on my birthday.  I've seen that movie more times than I can count.  It is ranked, for me, in my Top 10 favorite movies of all time, as well as in my Top 5 favorite Sci-Fi movies ever made.  This movie brought about a level of cheese that's impossible by most standards of film making.  It is, hands down, one of the most entertaining and richest tales of revenge ever made.  This is a movie that I can recite practically word for word, especially the role of Khan Noonian Singh and the Ham-ishly awesome banter between him and ADMIRAL...Admiral...Admiral James T. Kirk.

Thank you, Ricardo Montalban, for making my nerdish childhood ever so nerdishly awesome.  Thank you for creating a Sci-Fi villain that is so awesome, it has attained pure immortality.  Thank you for giving me such a plethora of simply sexcellent quotes to use at my disposal at any time.  Thank you for having so much fun with your role and reprising it for someone similar in Freakazoid, for revenge is indeed a dish best served with Pinto Beans and Muffins.  Thank you for all of that, and more!

Also, I know that wherever your soul is headed, possibly around the Moons of Nibia or around the Antaris Maelstrom, I know that you're on your way there in nothing less but the thickly cushion luxury of seats available even in
Soft Corinthian Leather.

It's questionable. Megacon is a pretty big comics convention, yet it's slowly becoming more and more weeaboo, at least based on what some of the people we met there who were frequent attendees.

IMO, the whole point of a con is to just go meet non-insane bitches (I.E. NOT those anime fangirls.) and have a party in a hotel room until about 6am. Good times...

LoL, my whole point of a Con is usually just to go, talk to creators and check out panels, and perhaps get an autograph or two.  Last year, I met the creators of Thundercats & Galaxy Rangers, two of my favorite 80's cartoon shows.  I had a really nice talk with both of them.

Plus, the reason I say I'd like more Comic Book fans is because NY HAS an Anime Festival for those very same people.  In the long run, it's [tornado fang]ing hot in the Javitz no matter what!  XD

To all those going to NY Comic-con...

You plan on going to the Mirage/TMNT Booth?  8D

Unfortunately, I ain't sure if they're slated to appear at the September Comic-con in Baltimore, MD (my home turf) later this year, and I can't go to this one, so I'm hoping you guys can maybe swing by and see if you can shake 'em up for any good stuff.

...like how the likes of Slash, Bebop and Rocksteady MUST be in that new TMNT Smash-like game coming out later this year. 8D It just won't be quite the party with out a lot of the characters most of us grew up with!

I'll see what I can do!   8D
