Not to belittle your efforts Gaia, but the origin doesn't quite work for an Alpha Lantern.  The Alpha Lanterns were Green Lanterns with excellent service records and dedication to the Green Lantern Corps.  Those are the ones the Guardians chose to be Alpha Lanterns.

Found it, it's from a fighting game called 'Dark Rift'. Didn't do very well, but it was enough to keep a younger me entertained after playing the crap out of Star Fox, Mario, JFG, and Zelda.

You gotta love that nostalgia factor.

You know, they really need to make a new Jet Force Gemini game.  Heh, but I don't remember Dark Rift.  Probably too busy playing the absolute hell out of Mario Kart 64, #2 on the PB's "Favorite Awesome Go-to Games of All Time" List!

Oh totally.  Knowing me, I might name the horses after the ones from the Galaxy Rangers cartoon.

Well, Sun serves as a field medic and a hacker. So normally she's behind her brothers and sister. Although I see for her weapon as something similar to a character from an N64 fighting game whose names escapes me right now. Reminds me of a large shuriken with a sharp steel frame around the circumferance. And with Sun, she probably utilizes solar energy when its charged and throws it. Although solar powered she wouldn't be very effective at night unless it was charging through the day.

Wait until I'm done with my main OC, Taima. I'm still working on her profile, right now I'm on her armor specs and weapons list.

A Solar Shuriken?  Very nice idea actually.  I like that a lot better than a Solar Buster.  Of course, now I'm trying to think of the Fighting Game. 

Actually the names of the Equine unit all bear the names of the horse from my favorite childhood cartoons, Rainbow Brite and She-Ra. Swiftwind from She-Ra, Sunrise, Starlight, Skydancer, and Onyx from Rainbow Brite.

... Thank goodness I was never that much in the 'My Little Pony' cartoon.

Ahhhhh 80's cartoons.  Is there anything they can't do?

The Alpha Lanterns are a combination of Green Lantern with Manhunter (robots created by the Guardians to patrol the Universe before the Green Lantern Corps) technology.  They are more powerful than your standard Green Lantern, and were created to essentially police the Green Lantern Corps, making sure they don't breach any of the rule stated in the Book of OA.

Proto; I appreciate it really. I need to develope them a little more other then giving them their designs, height, and role.

Currently I have Swift's 'sister' Sunriser in the works (Inking process atm) then I have the three 'brothers' to finish the unit off, plus my more main OC, plus the eight Irregulars, only one having a slight idea for a design.  @_@

It's a great start though.  Design, height, and role are definitely important.  Heh, okay height is a minor thing, but more I'm always a fan of lots of character information.

I do look forward to seeing more of the character designs and everything.  For Sunriser, the first weapon that comes to mind is a Solar Buster, if that helps!

So in that sense, a GL can powered up every other colored lanterns, because everything requires willpower, right?

They don't power the Blue Lantern Ring, they merely have to be present in order for the Blue Ring to fully work.  Actually, the Blue Ring can fuel the Green Ring.

Willpower is the center of the Emotional Spectrum.  It's the balance, and why the Guardians chose to harness that power.

Which, I personally think is brilliant writing & reasoning, since Hope is nothing without the Willpower to act on it.

Indigos are pretty awesome. They can channel other Lantern powers.

And we don't even know the full extent of their powers or origins either.

Wait, I thought the GL are the one that do the BL recruiting? could be wrong though.

No, the Blue Lantern recruitment is done by other Blue Lanterns, then they are taken to Ganthet & Sayd for evaluation and details.  A Green Lantern just needs to be present in order for the Blue Lantern Ring's full power to be accessed.

Secret Origins aside, I find this the most enjoyable Superman title at the moment. I dig the interstellar intrigue, and closer look at Kryptonian culture.

I'm waiting for the Trade Paperback of those.  But everything Geoff has written for Supes has been excellent.
