There's already some?
The later of the true NES games had "cut scenes" in the same sense that MM9 did.
The rest is all gameplay, not aesthetics. Possibly a retro X9 might include an anime short akin to a shorter TDoS, but they would not do them mid-game.
Simply because X1-3 didnt have them. Capcom is pretty insistent on making them TRUE NES games. If they could they would sell them on cartridges. The same would apply to the X series if they made it SNES again.
Me in fantasy Monsteropolis-land -> Wouldn't it be awesome if Ariga's Gigamix art contest was really Inafune's sneaky way of holding a Robot Master contest without anyone realizing it? And one of us actually did get one of our creations in this game?! And it will be announced during the worldwide birthday extravaganza?!
Me back to reality -> This is baaaaaaaaaaadass.Forget the MM9 Press Kit, now that image is something worth paying $200 for in retro cardboard box form.
the sprite style. You will never see an SNES X1 with X8's cutscenes. or its long dialogues and such. The sprite style affects more than just the general look. It affects how the story can be told.
I'm OK with that.
Also, I don't think they're using the NES style as a selling point. I think it's more of a case of Inti being lazy.
Done.
How's it?
The PS1 visual style is arguably the more iconic one for the X-series anyway, given that they tie with the SNES in game count and a great deal of the GBC sprites are based on it.
By the way...
You are all now realizing that Mega Man 10 Boxart Protoman looks like Lord Zedd from Power Rangers.
Hey Sub Tank I updated your art, hope you don't mind:
With requisite marathon of MM1-9 + R&F and others in a build up, naturally?
You know... this is cool and all but I doubt they'll manage to make a boss faster than Qucikman... again.
Classic remains... Classic. That is how it should be.
Seriously, the box art thing is over. They started getting it right after 2. The joke isnt funny anymore when it was really only for 2 games.
I assume we'll get a livestream of this?
Can't wait for the new Wily stages!
Oh oh oh oh! They could bring back the Doc Robots in this one!
