I always thought that one final plot was good, but a bit... well... WHY didn't they build on that on the entire series instead of being a huge boring snorefest where everyone obeyed what this bitchy girl wanted?

LoL, and they kinda had to obey what the bitchy girl wanted, because the bitchy girl was God. That's kinda what I liked about the series. I liked the idea that they essentially have to keep God from being bored or else she'll rewrite the universe. Like I said, I think the series is overrated, but I still think it's an interesting plot.

Yeah. I found some of the discussions between Kyon (the sarcastic one) and the Esper guy (who's name escapes me) interesting. Also, I actually found the concept of the basic plot intriguing as well.

The funny thing about Haruhi is that, despite the over hyped aspect of it, I think the writing to the show is very well done. The dialog is pretty good and I thought some of the metaphysical discussions were actually very well thought out. At least the dubbed version was.

I loved how the little musical note would appear when you pulled it off too. Wonder why they dropped it after 64 and SC; it shouldn't be the end of the world if you happen to hit a banana.
It was a good defense mechanism, like how doing a trick saved you from the full effect of the POW Block. It is curious as to why they removed that mechanism, especially now that the computer is pretty aggressive to pretty unfair.
To answer both of your questions, it's pretty clear why they did. I think it's because they gimped the weapon so much that it didn't really matter. Compare how much it slows you down in MK64 as oppose to afterwards.

Well in 64, the levels were so huge that 3 tracks could take a while. However, I can agree that you should be able to set laps to as high as 5 or as low as 1 when racing against friends. Again, options are never a bad thing.
