I'd hope Snake peacefully passed away before MGSR, frankly.  Hell, by the time MGS4 was over he only had like six months left to live anyway.

477
Good thing I wasn't planning on getting this anyway.  My gaming setup isn't exactly friendly to standing up, considering the TV's only a couple of feet off the ground.

478
Big surprise.

Looks a lot more playable than Unleashed at least.

I'm only up to 111 stars.  Stupid ...things.

And they're Sly Cooper, so all the better.

Wonder if they'll ever make a new one? Is there room in the story for it? Hmm... should've beaten Sly 2 and played Sly 3...

No, there's no room in the story for it.  The end of the third game ties up all the loose ends and leaves Sly to retire and settle down with Carmelita.  (This is how the game actually -ends;- it's not just an implication.)

I'm going to start selling tickets when this erupts into physical violence.

Incidentally, who wants some popcorn? *munch*

Yeah, at the time of my last post I didn't realize it was multiple Dreamcast games being released.

I don't know, it sounds to me like they're trying to milk one of the only 3D Sonic games that didn't suck since they can't make a good one nowadays.

Although my asessment of that might change depending on what they actually do with the port.

God, this thread is a [tornado fang]ing train wreck.  Where's my popcorn?

So, I can only presume at this point that using the damn thing is going to be like staring at a Magic Eye picture for hours.

We're going to wind up with people going permanently cross-eyed after this is all over.

Well, his real name is canonically Dr. Ivo Robotnik.  Eggman is just a pseudonym.  A stupid pseudonym.

Yeaaaah, I was kind of annoyed to see they brought that [tornado fang]ing thing back.

While I'm thinking about it, where the hell IS the Throwback Galaxy and whatever the one from Sunshine is?

I don't know, it still looks like Unleashed 2 to me.  And Unleashed wasn't a bad formula in theory, Sega just cocked it up like they do everything else.

The same thing'll probably happen here.  The gameplay mechanics will actually be decent, but the level design and execution of certain features will be so bad as to make the game frustrating to play at best.

There's nothing that says Sonic isn't running 300 miles per hour like in Unleashed either.

That's what they did with Adventure 2, isn't it?

I figured they were more of a replacement for the Red Coin stars, but I guess it's more a combination of the two.  Oh well, given the ratio of coins to star bits in these games, you'd probably be hunting for over an hour just to FIND a hundred coins.

I'm 8 hours in or so and have got 36 stars.  I've been chasing after the prankster comets as they show up.  I wish they were all as entertaining as the one in Cloudy Court--that one was actually pretty fun.  The purple coin challenge in Flip-Swap was kind of a pain in the ass, but I think I was making it harder than it had to be.

That reminds me... there aren't 100-coin stars in this game, are there?

Scratch that, actually, it would appear that the system update disabled everything but the Homebrew Channel, and I can't get anything within HBC to load properly It seems emulators work but not other stuff.  Weird...

4.2 is what was included with the SMG2 disc, apparently.  I'd previously been running 3.4.

Homebrew seems to have survived intact.

Just bought the game, but it may be a few hours before I can play it.  All my rechargable batteries are dead as a doornail.

Incidentally, has anybody had problems with the included system update killing homebrew or anything like that?  Just out of curiosity.

Hahaha.  "Untitled sequel."

The animation's bad, but the speed at which he accelerates is fine.

I think you mean only if he was super/hyper.  I can think of a few places where the camera lagged behind a bit during a speed bumper sequence in Sonic 2, but it typically dumped you somewhere you wouldn't take damage.  Beyond that, it was nigh impossible to outrun the camera.
