Gaming / Re: A new TMNT fighting game for Wii...

Actually, I wouldn't be surprised if at least one Triceraton Warrior (prolly a generic) made it in game. The Trikes are long-running characters that have appeared in the original Mirage comics, as well as both cartoon series, and a few game appearances here and there. Peter Laird himself has a special spot for the characters. In fact, as far as original concepts go, the Trikes were actually crafted BEFORE the turtles themselves.  owob

So, all that to say, I think a Triceraton is to be expected, as well as Usagi. Usagi's been rolling with the Turtles for years now, (crossovers in his series, as well as the TMNT's own) and I couldn't imagine him missing out a thing like this. Hell, I think it's safe to presume that most people don't even know that Miyamoto Usagi is actually a character from a separate series altogether.  -u-'

No Turtle fan forgets Aska. ^^;

While I could stand to see Aska, in the end, she was a concept (created by Konami) that was crafted for only that one game, and hasn't been seen since.

Asking for her would be like asking for such characters like Tora the Bad Ass Polar Bear (TMNT2-NES) and/or Sisyphus the Beetle (TMNT Tourney Fighters, GEN/MD). Love 'em, but only the most hardcore of the hardcore TMNT fan would remember them, and we can only be but so marketed to by these guys. 8D

Besides, if it came down to it, I like Aska, but plenty of the females that have appeared in the TMNT multiverse, like Karai, Renet the Timestress, Radical, Lotus Blossom (80s toon), or even Ninjara would be more deserving of that spot, in my eyes. Especially Renet.   *o* *o*

Gotta love Sega's line of reasoning. They did this with MadWorld months ago, too.  >3<

But in any case, the ZShare link I posted above still works as of this posting. Go check it out, if you haven't...  [eyebrow]

I think Sub Tank would yell in glee if they announced Demon's Crest 2.

Personally, I'd be overjoyed if Capcom announced Breath of Fire 6.

Wouldn't be the only one, in either case.

But, probably at the top of my list? A new Rival Schools game. To me, the time is right. 8ing (Fate: UC, TvC) could probably bang out a new game much in the line of its predecessors, and it could be awesome.

Load it up with Character Creator, the "Sim Life" mode and etc, along with on-line? Hawt stuff.  *o*

I've been thinking on and off about getting into SC. 3 did a lot to turn me away, after enjoying myself a good deal in SC1 and 2.

I might get it...eventually. After I clear up some other games in my backlog, and have room for ANOTHER FG this summer.  8D

Yeah I saw this over at GAF and only have this much to say. Anyone who can't see why this is fun/awesome/hilarious/want has lost touch with their inner gamer. There was just too much there that was great. I love, love, loooooved how they spat in the face of serious business plots everywhere:

"She is the last of her race, the only one who can balance the force of light and dark."

"... but that's boring, I wanna have fun!"

XD

Like I said, any body who's familiar with Kamiya (or at the least, DMC and Viewtiful Joe) would already expect as such.

I mean, let's face it. VJ? DMC? They both plots that were pretty out there, and never took themselves seriously (especially VJ).

So, needless to say, I'm welcoming Bayonetta with open arms. Too many vid-ya games today take themselves too seriously for my liking. It's good to see that at least Kamiya hasn't lost his playful design in his games.

I love the subtle shot at Dante with the taunt she does. Dante does a similar "come on!" taunt and pose as well.

Not to mention that Bayonetta's own rival is wearing red...  8D

I really hope that the "red witch" and the black guy end up being extra playable characters, a la Viewtiful Joe's extra characters. That would just be the kind of thing that would make a bad-ass game even better.  >0<

Oh now that's just silly!   8)

Yes. Yes, it is.

It's classic Kamiya, his new "daughter" is poised to help take back what's rightfully theirs.  8D

809
As long as Sega and Nintendo are there, all is not lost.

I mean, as if right now, Bayonetta is the top thing I'm concerned about seeing more of. Anything that Ninty could stand to add will just be the icing on the cake.

Most of the others probably won't be showing off more of their more interesting stuff until later (like TGS), any way.

Well, unless you import, you do (unfortunately) have a lil while to wait. 02UM prolly won't be out over here til well into next year, knowing Ignition and SNK.

Eh? Hey, Japan should get online play.

If this upcoming version of the game has it, I'd like to think it would be the precedent that another update/sequel would follow...

Especially in an era that would take place after Monster Hunter Tri. Every applicable game in Capcom's catalog should have decent netcode, no matter the system.

Gaming / Re: Tatsunoko vs. Capcom (the sequel topic)

you know what. i don't want anything added to the US version of the game. just wait for the sequel to add stuff.

Wouldn't be nuthin wrong for the "CvS Pro" ruling to come into effect, in my eyes.

I mean, add the new content for what's basically the 1.5 version of the game, which can then serve as a nice preview for the actual sequel that could probably be on the way for 2010 or earlier.  0v0

see, now you're just going to make to people worry about stupid [parasitic bomb].

don't be such a [tornado fang]ing buzzkill.

Hey, too often, it comes with the territory. Especially for fellow FG fans like myself...

In any case, this has yet to be confirmed, but according to a fellow NeoGAFfer....

Quote
- Maybe new characters

- Coming out end of the year

- Online is something they want to look into, nothing definite yet

Apparently the article doesn't have any real information, it's mostly just fluff. The only [parasitic bomb] of value I already mentioned

If this is true, then well, it definitely sounds nice. For it to be possibly not coming until the end of the year though, it had OUGHTA have those additions touted...

Gaming / Re: Tatsunoko vs. Capcom (the sequel topic)

you're just saying that to make you feel better about your impatience.

No, I'm saying that because it's a perfectly legit "concern", as it were.

At "best", we may just have music altered or taken out. At "worst", some Tatsunoko characters that were in the original game may have been taken out and/or replaced, because nothing could have been done about them on the legal front.

I mean, it's not like it's any serious skin off my nose, in any case. If there's enough of a compelling case to be made, then I'll double-dip with the quickness. If not, then I still have my original copy of the game, which I've been able to enjoy for almost half a year now. No fuss, no muss.  8D

Hey, what for? We have an advantage of half a year over everyone else :P

Pretty much.

Plus, there's nothing to be said about how the game may have indeed been changed, some how, in this transition. Characters may have been taken out and swapped for some one else. Music may have been changed. Until we get more details, there may be more to this particular product than just a simple translation...

Wait, could this be the big surprise Capcom was talking about before Captivate?

Probably. Wouldn't be surprised if this was one of those two "surprises" Capcom talked about for their E3 press release either.

Well....that's one way to make up for MvC2 not being on the Wii.  8D

I only want netcode, even if it's not that great. I'm THAT starved for competition, I'm like the only TvC player/owner in miles x_x

See, it has to be GOOD Netcode, imo.

After getting fairly spoiled by GGPO, HD remix and the possibilities that are to come with BB and KOFXII...it would make me highly annoyed if TvC got some janky netcode.

Well, it looks a bit rough, but a few months worth of dev time could possibly make all the difference.

But I do agree...now that we've seen vid footage, it's time to start announcing other characters. At least make for some easy ones, like Casey, April, Leatherhead, and a Triceraton.  8)

Gaming / Re: New Sparkster/RKA?
« on: May 16, 2009, 05:15:25 AM »
Honestly? I'm not too surprised, at this point. Even the Rumor Mill in an old ish of EGM from a while back, hinted at the notion that an "old brand of Konami's" was going to be making a come back. And barring something like Goemon or Snatcher, some thing like RKA sounds just up their alley.

Just not sure how I feel about Climax though. I would have rather it be WayForward, for the guarantee of 2D goodness.

824
Hell, I'd buy it. Day 1. 8D

But seriously. While I've gone on to basically anex Sony's consoles into the role that Sega's used to own (road dawgs with my Nintendo ones), it's just not been the same.

So, I would definitely love to see Sega's triumphant return to the market. With new and exciting development teams like Platinum Games on their side, as well as always reliable staff, such as AM2 and the dudes behind the likes of Ryu Ga Gotoku and Jet Set Radio, they could definitely make a compelling case for a solid line-up for 1st party coverage. And I could easily see the likes of Capcom, Arc Systems, Treasure and SNK, at least, sitting and paying attention, if a new (and ESPECIALLY) affordable alternative to the PS3 and 360 was available, while also offering a decidedly different flavor to Nintendo's own. Sega was the undisputed rival to Nintendo back in the day (Sega does what NintenDON'T! 8D), because Sega had some serious Swagg, back in the day.

My only thing would be, would they be poised to be still relevant, at this point in time? I mean, the main reason the Saturn and Dreamcast failed, was due to some poor marketing decisions on Sega's part. And for all that the DC was, for all sakes and puposes, a competent rival to the PS2, it couldn't make up for the failings of its immediate ancestry. Would Sega laying fallow for about a decade, be enough for people to be willing to trust them again? I'd love to think as such.

If nothing else, having a console that would just be an immediate home equivalent to whatever Sega has in store for the arcade market would be enough to make me happy.  :D

Love this series. Vampire Savior, itself, probably stands as one of my favorite all time Fighting Games.

Another Vampire/Darkstalker probably the one thing that stands above my want for a new Justice Gakuen(Rival Schools) or Jojo fighter.

The fact that at least Justice Gakuen made that Famitsu poll gives me SOME hope...
