New high quality trailer video here!

Fukken preorder'd. XD

Exactly. Graces looks to be the first 3D Tales I game I actually LIKE.

Prolly helps that Team Destiny ARE the ones behind it. You can say what you will about their games' storylines, but thus far, there's no faulting their battle system design.

The Destiny games are overrated. There, I said it. I fail to see what's so grand about them.

Destiny 1 was basically the game that did the most to set the overall "tone" for the series , in a lot of ways. It did a lot to refine the "rough" aspects of SNES Phantasia, and add plenty of series conventions that carry over to this day (like "Skits"). Destiny and Phantasia are running neck to neck with having the largest amounts of the most beloved characters in the entirety of the series. So it should be little wonder why the likes of Stahn and Leon are as loved as Cless and Arche (if not arguably more in some circles).

Destiny 2 (the REAL one) was the one who brought the series to the PS2 generation in style, and again, did probably the most to set the basic tone for the series, for yet another generation of gaming.

And Destiny Remake, beyond being a remake of one of the best and most favored games of the series, has probably THE most fun battle system ever crafted for a Tales game (though Graces may finally give Re-Destiny a run for its money). Director's Cut edition even has "Leon Mode" for a nice extra.

So yeah...the Destiny "series" enjoys its lofty place in the fandom for good cause, I would think.

Holy [tornado fang] on a stick the Graces battle animations and moves are superb looking. :O

Yeah...that much was evident even though that was probably the WORST quality footage ever unleashed on an unsuspecting public.  8D

Honestly, I've never really cared for any of the 3D Tales games, as none have ever set a chord with me as much as any of the 2D games. But Graces may definitely change that, especially since Team Destiny's newest battle system looks to impress so much...  owob

*le sigh*

Wait, but guys, guys. What if... what if this is a fighting game, or something? That would be quite awesome. We could play as many different Navis(Quickman, Forte and Blues are a MUST) and FM Beings(or whatever). It would be quite awesome.

But knowing Capcom, it will be just another RPG, but a hope for more characters to play is still possible.

If THIS is what "Scramble Battle" ended up being? Well, I would be a bit disappointed, but hey....it's the ONLY type of thing that could me interested in such a thing.

754
It looks like the new area in the video is called, "Shinto Iseki"... I don't know what Shinto translates to (if anything... God, maybe? Some with better moonrune knowledge help me here. :P) but the latter is obviously Ruins.

Shinto, in itself, means "Way of the Gods".

If Palkia and his pimps are indeed involved, then, yeah, it's a fitting name for that place.

But any way...what music I heard was enough to make me squeal in delight. Oh, yeah....  owob

As I've pretty much stated on the likes of GAF and FAQs....I can only say "THANK YOU, MIYAMOTO".

I wasn't at all offended by the story bits that Galaxy had. The fact that it was optional, in my opinion, made it even better, and didn't do any more to "get in the way" of playing the game than reading an instruction manual's lil story blurb could have done.

But at the same time, I'm glad that they're not looking to do more in that vein. The last thing we need is for Mario platformers to go down the road that the likes of Sonic or Spyro did. That's not necessary at all.

Now....all I really could stand to see now? If NSMB Wii''s triumphant return of Koopalings is indicative that they may be making a triumphant return to other mainstream Mario games...like say....this one.  0v0

Yes

Very yes!

I want those D:

You echo my sentiments, Taiyo.  >0<

But any way, yes. Now I can have my trust Machamp follow me, or any of my other favorite road-dawgs, like Totodile, Charmander and etc. Preorder confirmed!  owob

I'm here for the awesome speculation, Master Sword story, and Majora's Mask like creativity.

All the bases have been covered. Now bring on 2010 already! 8)

You said it. 2010 also would mean Galaxy 2 and Other M, among other things. So let's get 09 finished up already...after Bayonetta and NSMB Wii, of course!  8D

759
*insane logical assumption*  Listen, fellow gamers.  It's clear here what's going on.  The Blade of Evil's Bane could repel evil, but not it's affection for the wielder of the Triforce of Courage.  Therefore, the Master Sword magically reforged itself into a girl, so that it could know more than just the touch of Hero's courageous hand.  What will become of the two?  Find out in The Legend Of Zelda: Master Stroke.

I approve! owob

760
*insane ramblings*  JUST LOOK AT HER.  DON'T YOU SEE?  SHE'S THE MASTER SWORD!

8D

But in any case...the plot thickens.

761
It's been said some time around Fall/Winter. But in any case, pre-orders are already open at the likes of Amazon.  8D

762
You wouldn't be the only one, Vix!

On another note:

New Super Mario Bros Wii Hands On Revenge

More shaky cam footage of NSMB, but this one shows off the Morton Jr boss battle. He has a wand, just like the old days!   0v0

I LOVED Link's awakening. Best 2D Zelda.

Agreed.

I loved the fact that not only was the gameplay awesome (in many ways, superior to LttP, despite being on less powerful hardware), but I also dug that it was a pretty off the wall setting for a Zelda game. Some hints of modern technology, Japanese mythology, plus references to other Ninty franchises where blended into a nice mixture that just made for a great experience. Oh, and for a change, it dumped the whole "Ganon, Zelda & the Triforce" thing for the most part, which only did more to make the game feel fresher.

Honestly, I wish Ninty would do more along the lines of this game and MM. Both games proved you don't HAVE to have the Triforce and the other two holders of it involved in order to make for good games. Hell, it might be the kind of thing that's necessary, since it's getting so droll, now...

I see a White Wii and I want it painted Black...

"TOO BLACK! TOO STRONG! TOO BLACK! TOO STRONG!" *repeats*  0v0

Well LO and [tornado fang]ing BEHOLD.  Kojima working on 4 new titles, with 3 of them being Metal Gear related.

UP YOUR ASS, KOJIMA!

8D

No other words, Blues. Though sadly, I do agree with you. No ZOE AND no Boktai.  -u-'

On the other hand though, technically, the Raiden game, with its crazy "Lightning Bolt" genre name choice, has been rumored to be directed by Murata (who both wrote and directed ZOE2). It may not be ZOE proper in the least, and it's yet another MG game, but a new action by Murata is already something I'm looking forward to seeing for myself. Especially if it will involve Raiden just doing crazy actions that could do more to remind me of ZOE. That's something...right?  8D

Other games he's mentioned playing...

-TMNT: Smash Up
-Bayonetta

Probe him for more information about these titles, especially, if you can!  *o*

I can't help but think "God of War" when i see the gameplay.

Well, what else can be said? DMC started it, GoW made this genre the "in" thing, and now everybody would like a "piece of the (over-the-top) action" genre for themselves.

Besides, it's not like this is much in the way of new territory for CV, either. Even the PS2 games tried to do something like this, they just didn't have much in the way of funding (and weren't much fun either).

In any case, 2010 is already shaping up to be pretty awesome, with both this and Metroid: Another M throwing their hats into the ring of Stylish Action, and with plenty of swagg on both ends...  *o*

Certainly an awesome trailer.
And really looks like it got nothing to do with the mainstream CV games.
And Patrick Steward narrating is instantwin

Well, they advertised that from the jump, they said "forget everything you know about CV". This likely isn't even going to be a part of the IGA-verse timeline, as it's going to be something new from KojimaPro and those Jericho guys.

New CV trailer. Liking what I'm seeing thus far.

New CV game trailer.

Looking VERY nice. And I think the fact that it's not reportedly connected to the mainstream games may end up being a welcome breath of fresh air.

This is on my radar.

Oh man this Zelda reveal is friggin great for so many reasons. XD

Ben, PLEASE tell me you were watching the HAHA on GAF.

I was away, but I'm laughing now. Poor camineet...we didn't see eye to eye all the time, but his heart was in the right place!  >^<

Awww~ >oo<

I wanted to play with RPM so badly...

You said it....I had friends on the West Coast that I would have LOVED to play this game with.

DAGNABBIT, NINTENDO! MISSED AN OPPORTUNITY!

771
Nice. ^^

You said it. 80 levels sounds great, especially if there would be more to be had! ^_^

772
I want this to happen so much~ if NSMB Wii can do it, so can Galaxy 2. owo

I see it the same way. I mean, if they're going to bother re-introducing the Koopalings as part of the mainstream Mario-mythos through New SMB Wii, they might as well keep at it, and have them in Galaxy II, as well.

I mean, if New SMB Wii continues where the first game left off, then I'm not expecting the Koopalings to speak. But at least doing more to finally have some on-screen depiction of CHARACTER would already be something nice. That way, by G2, they could stand to expand on that character a bit more. After all, if Jr had speaking lines in G, but not so much in New SMB, I expect him to be conveyed as such through this new round of games, too. I'd only hope that such would also be the case for his siblings.

I will freaking scream if Galaxy 2 has all the awesome of Galaxy + Yoshi + Koopalings. XD

You wouldn't be the only one.

The only thing I could imagine topping that kind of package deal, would be if Junior was another playable character, after Luigi.

Sure, it wouldn't make much in the way of sense, but would it have to? 8D

I hope Other M is executed very well, because it pleases me greatly to see a game (much less, a Metroid game) that combines FPS, TPS, and 2D in a way that gives the player the combat versatility to have the precision of FPS, the dodging and collision-damage evasion of TPS, and the range of attack of 2D all in one cinematic package.

I still say that no company 'won' E3 this round, but if Nintendo does what I think they're setting out to do with SMG2 and M:OM (...mom?...MOM?!), then I would be more than glad give the honors to Nintendo after-the-fact, because this is some difficult stuff they're about to try.

The one thing I'm hoping for though, is for FPS to be downplayed. Make it like it was with bow and arrows in Ninja Gaiden, where it may be strategically on-point to switch for perfect shots, but that should be it, in my eyes.

Again, I want this game to be something new and exciting, all to itself. FPSers had their time, and I, for one, welcome our new Nintendo-Ninja overlords! ^_^

773
Ahhh...I'm loving this new Metroid, the more I see of it. After so many years of Prime domination, it's good to see the series being taken in a new direction, and even better that I can personally get behind it!  *o*

Also, I'm VERY happy to hear that Galaxy Part Deux will stand to be a bit more hardcore. Even at some of the crazy moments in Galaxy the first, it seemed like they were still holding themselves back from what they COULD have done, if they were allowed to cut loose. Hopefully, that will be the case this time.

Bonus points, if the Koopalings and Jr are together in Galaxy 2, as well!  0v0

774

Koopalings confirmed for NSMB Wii.

Look at that... Nintendo actually listened.

 >0< .... :'(

"...No matter how hard your heart is grieving...if you just keep believing..."

775
Not one, but TWO new Mario games? It really is almost like it was in the 90s!  owob

And that new Metroid game looks SEXY. Thanks for your hard work Retro, but I was never much of a Prime fan. Another M DEFINITELY looks more up my alley...but where is my 2D Metroid proper?  ;O;

Of course, you could always take the stance that there are no actual winners or losers in this whole thing (unless Sony announces ZOE3), and just enjoy what interests you specifically from each company.  I enjoyed Nintendo conference a lot more than Microsoft, cause it had more stuff that interested me.  However, that's me.

There's that. And then there's always the notion that well, let's be honest. In spite of the strides that Ninty has made in the last few years, one thing has never changed since the 64-era; if you go with Nintendo consoles, obviously, you bought it more in line for Nintendo/Nintendo-style/Nintendo-friendly games.

For the majority of Wii owners, this is the kind of the stuff that should be expected, as well as what's desired. And for a Wii/PS3 owner like myself, this is fine.
