Funny, Egoraptor is usually the main reason why I don't watch things.

Does that mean that only in a minority of situations do you consider other factors when deciding not to watch something?

Good Lord. I've been walking in the intense heat, aimlessly trying to find a permanent marker at the shops, that I know.

You must be in the South.

I wish I could replace my X5 manual. I lost it years ago and it really bothers me that I don't have it. the case feels so naked without it.

I think I recently saw mine.

Yeah, Mask of the Sun was considered canon for the longest time by Falcom themselves, but Memories of Celceta that just came out here in the west on PlayStation Vita is the official version of IV's story now. Just beat it the other day even. The ending was left purposefully vague and says that the events of the game are rather 'ambiguous in interpretation' and all that, likely just to allude to their being 3 versions of the same event (4 if you count that PS2 remake from Taito).

The SNES version of Ys V was recently translated. It turns out that the "Expert" version of the game would take a lot of extra effort to translate. I hinted that the team might as well just work on the PS2 version. Then I got an informal warning. Totally worth it.

PS: I'll probably end up getting a Vita to play Ys IV. I've all but given up on a Wild Arms or Megaman game, and Castlevania seems stuck in it's Gabriel of War rut. How does it play? Does it play for like Oath in Felghana, or Ys 7?

Can finally use Wiimotes with my PC.

Also, I've decided to forgo the "Drink champagne and act like an ass" part of New Years so I've not become a surly crybaby. Tonight was actually just a lot of fun.

All this time you've been drinking?

The Steam version has both as separate installations so I can't imagine that being the case. I know for sure that after you beat Ys I it'll close itself and launch Ys II with all settings carried over, but that's about it.

I never cared to try Mask of the Sun/SNES IV, but I'll certainly agree that its sibling is damned good. I enjoyed VI if only because some of its more aged aspects sorta stood out in comparison to its successors, if that makes any sense. Namely random critical hits and the weapon system come to mind. Also actual healing items, not that the game was hard enough to warrant them.

I get the impression that the fandom consider the SNES version canon, but I prefer the TGCD version. Also, the TGCD intermission between Ys I and Ys II is one of the better cutscenes I've watched.

PS: I played Ys VI on my PS2 with a Widescreen hack. Popup aside, I'd recommend it.

I like both turn-based and action RPGs, but I suppose I'd lean more towards turn-based.

Legend of the Heroes plays like a traditional RPG, but the random battles take place in a "grid" style battlefield and attacks and spells have ranges, area of effect, and some follow patterns, like lines). It plays like a tactics ame, excpet without the soul-crushingly boring tactics and 5 hour battles.

Thanks for the heads-up.

I guess I'll see how far I can get without cursing at the game.

List time! From best to worst.

Ys IV(TGCD), Ys IV(SNS), Ys I&II, Ys 7, Ys Origins, Ys OiF, Ys V, Ys VI, Ys III

If you like turn based RPGs, try Legend of the Heroes(XSEED versions). If you like more action RPGs, try Xanadu, especially Xanadu NEXT.

Fair enough, but wouldn't you use noise cancelling headphones to solve that at night?

Wear headphones to sleep? He's be better off with just using earplugs. Though, music might help.

Why is this damn smoke alarm still beeping WITHOUT THE DAMN BATTERY?!

Losing... grip... on... reality...

It has an internal battery that takes over when there is not a sufficient main battery. Might even be a (super?)capacitor. Your best bet is to either light it on fire, or just buy a new main battery for it.

Yeah, I know.

Hell even at work when I get breaks I find it very difficult to merely sit next to other people so I go out of my way to sit alone. To be fair though this is something that is solely my fault.

I'm not sure why I find myself so cripplingly socially awkward, yet I can function plenty fine when I'm working.

You could get lucky and find someone who demands nothing of you, socially. I'm sure there are a few(understatement) guys who just want someone to pay half the rent.

yes

Are you my mom?

My dad believes all women belong in the kitchen and he rarely makes his own plate. He waits for her to serve him food. Also, he once said to my sister that she was bad at Wii Sports baseball because she's a girl.

50s mentality.

Are you 50?

Yep, because normal kids leave at 18 and go on to live their lives and get married and stuff.

Me? I like Anime, have been noted to have an unusual/possibly unhealthy love for fictional women, collect what many people see as toys, have little in the way of academic prowess yet am considered "smart", have little common sense or social skills and thus am awkward around others, and spend most of my free time doing what many people perceive as "wasting my time".

They'll tell you you're "smart", but laugh at you behind your back. They don't want you to feel bad, so they give you false praise, but you aren't stupid enough not to know it isn't true, so it hurts even more.

I'd feel as if they'd judge me.

Well, yeah. That's life.

There was a Logitech keyboard at Staples that I had my eye on, so I may get that.

Until then, though... I'm going to bed.

Make sure it isn't Unifying(the orange starburst(no, not the candy)).

I'm looking into getting just a basic Bluetooth keyboard, nothing fancy.  Was it easy to set up?

I know that Android 2.3.x and earlier has some issues with whether or not it has the libraries to handle "iOS" or "HID" BT devices. I don't know if any early iOS devices have that problem. My only advice is to try to get one that actually is made for Apple devices(has that square button or the Command/Cloverleaf).

If you can test it out without buying it, try the Logitech Solar Bluetooth Keyboard. Only the "Apple" version has Bluetooth(Non-Apple uses Unifying and isn't very portable).

I got my Logitech Bluetooth Desktop MX5000 for $2 at Goodwill and it works fine on my 2.3.x Androids. Avoid the 15-30 USD "Leather" "sleeve" or "case" plus keyboards. They seem to be all made by the same company and not worth the money. If you get one with a slot for standing up the iPad, make sure it feels sturdy enough that you trust it with our iPad.

I don't think I've seen one, but if they keyboard has a battery pack that can charge the iPad, that's probably worth an extra 10-20 dollars.

Against my own advice...
iPad 2 and later(minus mini)

iPad 1 an later(minus mini)

"Wired" might be good, but be careful of wearing out your jack.

Well I'm getting used to my iPad keyboard though I have to remember to hit the space bar.

The onscreen one? Or a physical one? Too bad Swype doesn't have an iOS version.

I liked my DeathAdder until I had to pay to have it shipped for something that was still under warranty. The second time, I just bought a new mouse. The G500 is nice. For $20.
