That is why we must rely on temporal weaknesses, instead of spacial ones.

Still, the inclusion of multiple patterns to fll back on to prevent farming and boss memorization would be nice.

It seems the reason for the dislike is the near unwarranted punishment for hitting the spot. In a real example, metools, the variable damage is welcome and normal. In ZX you were punished for skill and even for luck and accident. In the case of a working variable damage system, at most, you would do no damage, not Lose Something Forever.

Hopefully they did the same with the damage formular.

It'd be nice if a Zero game made use of multiple hitboxes for each enemy and swords, used an RNG, and multiple enemy patterns based on how you killed the last one. Would encourage precise sword use, discourage counting damage, discourage farming tactics and discourage simple boss tactics.

Most important would probably be the RNG for damage. In SOtN there is still a slight caution. even after you happen to kill an enemy in so many hits. The RNG keeps you from running around and killing thing with no fear. Also, and RNG would make situations where bravery(or foolishness), surprisingly, end with victory.

I already said it was an issue of them being only 256 colors. instead of millions or so... :(

The problem isn't the number of colors. The problem is that the colors are wrong.

So, PB would mean a sort of vertically interlaced image?

How would your eyes not notice only half the pixel columns are there?

The bottom screen seems to directly reference the actions they control.

I wonder by what logic Eurogamer believes that only the top screen will be 3D?  I mean, what about a 4:3 aspect ratio rules it out.  Just because Sharp is pitching the 16x9 ratio doesn't mean it's the only one to exist; one naturally expects the widescreen ratio to be dominant in a single-screen device these days.

One might think that the touch screen running 3D illusions could be a conflict of interest, but that'd be easily solved by having the two parallax borders switch on/off independently (as the DS is perfectly capable of with its backlights, though no commercial developer to my knowledge has done so).  I mean, for your oh-so-typical action games with 2nd screen map, having 3D on the bottom could be spiffy.

Having a 3D element to maps would be nice. It'd give them a way to relay more information about the room with just colors.

So, I can only presume at this point that using the damn thing is going to be like staring at a Magic Eye picture for hours.

We're going to wind up with people going permanently cross-eyed after this is all over.

If looking at Magic Eye pictures makes you coss-eyed, you're doing it wrong.

PS: once again, I must insist on a 3D Paper Mario.

Something like maple story but fun would be fun.

It sounds like a sidescroller to me.  I'm just hoping I don't have to be level 10 to wall jump.

Only A-Class hunters can wall jump.

Art seems like a slightly simplified X8/X7 style with maybe some MHX mixed in.

Any news as to if this is a sidescroller or a top down? Something like Maple Story might be fun.

I can attest that, in the case of R

So, on the top screen I set the GBA buttons and on the top I set the DS buttons to relay to the GBA buttons? This still means I can assign Sabre to A and Buster to Y. It's not that bad. I hope. Still no hope for a third equipped weapon though. Would be nice to always have Shield on L.

What I'd like to see with all this goings on is layered APNG support.
We don't even have single layered animataion support. I vaguely remember getting a GIF running on 95 though.

If decoding the PNG info is too much, we can just have RGBA BMPs or something with frames inside a single file, like ABMP.

Mmm...
I change backgrounds almost as often as my Avatars. Someone needs to invent a rotator background for windows, like Macs have. 8D

i saw the image as a desktop BG that some guy on youtube had in his vid, and I liked it, so I searched for it, and got myself this.

Wallpaper Changer.
Probably built in after XP.

The hell is a "Gold Level" on a Starbuck's card?
Means I bought 30 coffees within a year. Apearantly that warrants me getting a card with my name on it.
