I used to use VSTi plugins all the time, but when I discovered soundfonts, I was open to a whole new world of fruity loops.
I was like "[tornado fang], WOAH" and then my music was all like "hells yeah."

Well after taking a listen to each track, I can say, you are headed toward improvement that's for sure.
They do seem a little flat, and plain though, like the instruments aren't getting through clear enough.
And there is nothing wrong with making lengthy music, don't feel confined to three and a half minutes, just cause that's the average length of a song.
If you want to make a 30 minute track, go for it, I love epic tracks myself.
Just kinda, mix it up a bit, 7 minutes of the same tune gets pretty boring, mix up the patterns a bit.
Otherwise all I can suggest is read the FL bible, try out some soundfonts. (try out a lot of them, there's quite a lot you can get out of soundfonts)
Mix it up with some plugins, etc etc.
And just keep going, don't give up, blah blah blah, y'know, the whole speech you hear all the time, yeah that one.
