The patience of gamers these days is either small or nonexistent, sadly enough. The older games like us, Flame, know what it's like to have to go through a challenge (apparently, Nintendo remembers too judging by Grandmaster Galaxy) in order to do something. It's something that the newer generation of gamers knows nothing about due to cookie-cutter licensing and games with the difficulty so low a blind gerbil could beat most of them. It's just part of the sad state of gaming nowadays.

I remember games being about loosing before you finally learned what you had to do to win. Trial and error, and well, to a certain extent, strategy. Not be able to just breeze through it in a single take.

Those were the good old days, weren't they?

Mirby started to glow, and suddenly move swifter. She blocked all the lasers that aimed for the girl. "Move away from here!" Mirby screamed. She kept hacking away at the last part of the shell... and it fell away. The inside was fully revealed. A tentacle reached out and aimed a laser right at the girl. Mirby dived to block it, and it passed right through her, leaving a hole. She fell to the ground, in pain. And then, the strangest thing happened. The hole healed itself completely! She stood up, and leaped with all her might and managed to leap above the monstrosity. And then, aiming the blade downward, she fell on top of the beast and impaled it, purifying it with holy energies.

Mirby continually attacked, eventually destroying another part of the shell. It was getting tricky, as the lasers were going haywire. She summoned all of her strength and attacked with a giant version of the Claimh Solais once more, destroying another part of the shell. The homunculi were falling in reduced numbers now, but they were still spawning like mad.

"Girl, get back! I've got this!" Mirby got a determined look on her face. "Don't worry, I'll be fine!" She ran towards the mass and attacked with all her force. Lasers were fired, and she neatly sidestepped them all. As she attacked the mass, parts of its shell started to crack, and fall off...
