Exactly. Nothing has meaning, has purpose, without its opposite. Light needs shadow, cold needs warmth, loneliness needs company, wet needs dry, etc. When you take away half of the equation, its whole meaning is lost.

The two walked closer to Mirby, and their dialogue slowly became less muffled. But only her father spoke. "Mirby. You mustn't forget to help who this boy has become. Do not worry, as he shall surely escape his current fate." All Mirby could do was nod feebly. "As for your lack of energy, there is only one thing that can be done to remedy this. I shall gift to you my remaining energy, though in doing so I shall fade into nothingness..." The spirit of her father, or illusion of since she was still unsure of the reality of the specter, glowed brightly. The boy vanished, and a bright flash knocked her out.

When she came to, the battle was still raging, and she had some of her energy back. She thought it best if she played a support role in this battle.

In her feverdream came the vision of someone familiar, the boy from her dreams, talking to her father. Their voices were muffled, despite their proximity, and her vision was too blurry to read lips. So she sat there, dazed, while the scene played out in front of her. Whether this was a forgotten memory or a trick of the subconscious, she didn't know.

[the end we planned out isn't all-encompassing. Just an event leading to the final battle. As for the glyph...]

The glyph fizzled into nothingness before the castle's master, and the lost energy sapped Mirby's strength as a result. She stumbled feebly into a corner and collapsed; her energy hadn't been fully restored from her fight with the doctor, or even Sedina before that. At this rate, it was gonna take a miracle to get her back to full strength. For now, she slumped unnoticed in a dark corner, trying to rejuvenate herself...
