Took a look at the Wind Waker HD trailer.

Click for a larger version.

Check the D-Pad icon on the upper-left side. Wind Waker, Cannon, and Salvage Arm all mapped to it. Note that though the Grappling Hook is mapped to Y, the bombs aren't currently equipped. Which means no need to equip those whenever you need the cannon this time around. Odds are the same will apply to the Salvage Arm as well.

Also note that A makes you go faster, a much needed function for traveling the seas.

By the way, that's Spectacle Island (B-3), home of the Barrel Shoot minigame and possible Ghost Ship destination, with the Mother & Child Isles (B-2) in the distance.

I have never been as happy to see an enemy return as I am now. Even when they showed off Blarggs in Mario Galaxy 2.

arguably one of the best DS titles, if not one of the best handheld titles, ever

it was also ported to iOS as The World Ends With You Solo Remix (and it was a damn fine port too).

from the q&a (all information obtained from RichIGN as he tweets it)

one save file
can't comment on amount of new pokemon
were asked about DLC, didn't want to hear it but said possibilities are being explored
backwards compatibility is being worked on
based on france because france has a focus on beauty and beauty was a focus for x/y, wanted to see how to express that
when asked about tweaking evs and ivs, they said x/y will make some of those ideas more visible and intuitive
you can choose your hairstyle and appearance, the new PSS system shows player icons so it allows for custom appearance
8-way movement confirmed, kept the grid for easier tracking of pokemon encounters, but freer movement is in
music will have a different feel from past games because it'll be less modified/compressed than in older games
-long pause- can't explain "mewthree" can't talk about other games (this was in response to a question about smash 4)

PSS syncs with your 3DS friends list
different areas have different methods of travel through them
Flow of battles - seeing opponent's team ahead of time - is the same as before. You can select the song for the battle though.

Seriously I think you're the only person on the internet angry about him in Smash. I watched that Dev Direct. His moveset is very well-thought out. He fits right in, not as a gimmick character but as one who stays true to his roots and uses the full possibilities of the Variable Weapon System to his advantage for Smash Bros.

A dangerous glint appeared in his eyes as he sped towards Obsidian, stopping right behind him.

"You should know... I have more attacks than just those too... MOLTEN WOLF CLAW!!" he exclaimed, slashing Obsidian powerfully and then leaping back a bit. "GRACE CROSS VOLCANO!!" he yelled again as a deluge of missiles carrying molten metal were fired from all over. "And for once you're more familiar with... BLISTERING BURST!!" he said, releasing more missiles along with the triple flamethrower and everything else he was hiding.

Yeah, everything from the past games will be tied up in KH3, since everything before now has been part of the Xehanort Saga. After KH3, everything will be wrapped up and the next saga will be a fresh start. I mean, it'll still star Sora, but everything else should be tied up neatly and addressed.
